  • Patent number: 6726158
Abstract: The rest device is for the hand and support device for the forearm of a person, who performs repeated rotational, lifting and pressure moments with his/her hand. The device has a resilient moveable rest and support part (1), which receives the forearm and has a plane central part (2) as well as at least two sector parts (3,4,5,6). Resilient elements, such as compression springs, exert a pressure arranged in a vertical direction below the sector parts (3,4,5,6) adjacent to the circumference (P) and consequently on each side of the part (7,8,9,10). The lifting, lowering and rotational movements of the hand and its fingers are being facilitated and resiliently damped by means of the rest and support part due to the reaction properties of the springs.

  • Patent number: 6726808
Abstract: The invention is concerned with a method for the determination of the charging state of filtrates of fiber masses used in the manufacturing of paper and cardboard. In the method, a sample is filtrated from fibers through a filter, and indicator color is added to the filtrate. The absorbance of the filtrate is measured and the charging state of the solution is read from an earlier made calibration curve that corresponds to the measured absorbance. In the first embodiment of the invention, the calibration curve is made by taking a sufficient amount of samples from the same anionic sample and such different known amounts of cationic agent are added to these samples, that at least a part of the samples are cationic and at least a part of the samples are anionic. The charging states of the filtrated samples are determined in a previously known way, e.g.

  • Patent number: 6709308
Abstract: An improvement to a flying disc that returns to the user by means of a string using rotational energy in a manner of a yo-yo. The flying disc has a lower wing 1 that generates a lift, a smaller wing 2 and an axle 3. Between the wings 1,2 is a string 4 attached to the axle. The flying disc has at least one circular airfoil 11 and there are openings inside the area bound by its inner edge and the axle 3. Air currents from the direction of the flight that pass over and under the airfoil 11 are able to effectively mix through these openings. When slung with the string 4, the flying disc starts to rotate rapidly and flies away. It returns to the user when winding the string 4 back in the manner of a yo-yo.

  • Patent number: 6699357
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for continuous cooking of wood chips at elevated pressure and temperature in a vertical digester (1) for production of chemically dissolved pulp. Fiber material and cooking liquor are introduced at the top of the digester and pulp is discharged from the bottom of the digester (1), via a line (8) in which the pulp is maintained at substantially the same pressure level, to a pressurized wash (7). More than 50% of the used cooking liquor (black liquor) which is extracted from the system in total is extracted from the wash filtrate of the pressurized wash. The pressurized wash is regulated so that a high temperature is maintained in the wash filtrate. The extraction is regulated so that a net co-current flow is established at the bottom of the digester.

  • Patent number: 6685547
Abstract: The pneumatic sanding roll has an elongate housing with an outside driving axle separated from an inside portion by a large diameter disc. An air supply channel extends in the housing from the driving axle to a mouth of the inside portion. A spacer is in operative engagement with the driving axle and the disc. A semi-spherical hollow flexible rubber socket has a bottom edge portion and includes an opening. The bottom edge portion is captured between the spacer and the large diameter disc so that an enclosed cavity is defined inside the rubber socket. An abrasive semi-spherical cloth sleeve encloses the rubber socket and is locked to the rubber socket when the rubber socket is filled with air and expanded. A rubber tube is sealingly arranged about the inside portion to cover the mouth of the air supply channel to prevent air in the cavity from leaking back out through the air supply channel.

  • Patent number: 6658780
Abstract: The shooting device, such as a revolver, has a housing with a barrel-receiving opening defined therein. A cylinder and a barrel are attached to the housing. The barrel has a rear section with a cylindrical segment that slidably engages the cylindrical segment. A spring has one end attached to the rear section of the barrel and a second opposite end attached to the cylindrical valve for urging the valve against a groove section of the cylinder so there is a tight fit between the valve and the cylinder during the firing of the bullet.
