Abstract: A device for applying traction to, and/or relieving part of the pressure on, the human spinal column, including a lower, adjustable harness (2), being supported against the patient's pelvis/hipbone, an upper, adjustable harness (1) taking support around the patient's shoulders and under the arm pits, thus applying traction to a maximum number of the vertebrae via keybones and shoulder blades, and elastic force elements (3), striving to separate the two harnesses, symmetrically arranged between said harnesses, on both sides of the spine, said elastic force elements all being located on the front side of the patient's body and including at least two gas springs (3) having the same, pre-selectable, nearly stroke-independent force, and being symmetrically located on each side of, and equally spaced from, the body symmetry plane through the spine.
Abstract: A filter and a method for filtration is based upon moving a filter surface that is caused to move through a first filtration region (FF) for separation of a prefiltrate and through a second filtration region (KF) for separation of a clear filtrate. A vacuum is applied on the filtrate side of the filtration region (KF). The filtrate region (FF) has two filtration zones (FF1 and FF2) with mutually different pressure conditions. The filtration zone FF1 has atmospheric pressure and the filtration zone FF2 has a pressure that is lower than the pressure of FF1. The pressure change between the filtration zones (FF1 and FF2) occurs in the pre-filtrate region, i.e., before the filter surface has reached the filtrate region (KF).
Abstract: A process for evaporating spent liquor or other waste liquids from cellulose cooking, The evaporation is performed in a multiplicity of evaporators which are coupled in series and in which the evaporation is driven using the liquor steam. The condensates from the steam are divided, in one of more effects, into at least two fractions with respect to purity. The parer fraction from one effect is conveyed, at a high level, into a subsequent effect in the direction of movement of the liquor, while the dirtier fraction is conveyed, at a high level or at the very top, into a preceding effect in the direction of movement of the liquor.

Abstract: The device may be used to, for example, function test sensors in high voltage plants and signal boxes. The device makes it possible to function test sensors in high voltage plants, independent of where the sensors are located. The elongated device has one end that is provided with an insulated handle part and a flexible component that has a light generating part at an outer end thereof. The light generating part emits a light that is similar to the light of an electric arc.
Abstract: A device for admixing a first fluid into a second fluid. The device has a housing with a rotationally symmetrical rotation chamber defined therein that is arranged with an inlet for the second fluid and an outlet for the mixed fluids. A distance from a center shaft of the housing to its inner wall is decreasing continuously from the inlet to the outlet. The device has rotation means for setting the second fluid in rotation along the inner wall of the rotation chamber. The device also has adding means for adding the first fluid into the vortex that is formed when the second fluid is rotating in the rotation chamber.
Abstract: In a single-vessel system for continuous cooking of kraft pulp, chips and liquor are conveyed from a high pressure feeder in a transfer line to a first end of a digester. A part of the liquor is separated from the chips that are withdrawn from an outlet defined in an upper part of the digester and conveyed in a return line to the high pressure feeder. A constituent flow of liquor is led from the return line and heated and fed via one or more inlets into the digester at a location that is downstream of the outlet for the return line.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a container for storing and discharging particulate material, in particular pulp chips.
For the purpose of preventing bridge formation and making possible a simple and cost-effective design, the container is made so that a positive release is achieved in different transverse directions, after which the material is fed down towards the discharge end 2.
The container 1 preferably has a rectangular cross section, with a number of container sections BS1-BS8 in succession from the infeed end 4 of the container to its discharge end 2.
Two opposite sides in each container section are given a diverging deflection (5°) relative to the discharge end 2, and the other opposite sides in each container section are given a converging deflection (29°). In following container sections, converging sides change to diverging sides and vice versa, which results in the positive release of the material being achieved alternately with a 90° displacement.
Abstract: The shoe system comprises a shoe that has a toe section and a heel portion. A shoe sole is disposed inside the shoe and has a groove defined therein. The groove extends angularly from an upper surface of the shoe sole rearwardly towards the heel portion of the shoe. A wedge section is removably attached to the shoe sole. A shoe insert has a stiff first member and a resilient second member attached to the first member. The second member is inserted into the groove. The second member has one side that may be thicker than the opposite side so that the second member is only twistable in one direction.
Abstract: The arrangement for shoe wear is for removable attachment of the shoe wear about the user's foot so that the fastening may be achieved by tightening two parts (6, 7) that are separated by a cavity (3) and locked in a tight position. According to the invention, at least one transverse locking part (11) is attached across the cavity. The transverse locking part is attached to the separated parts (6, 7) on each side of the cavity. The transverse locking part is, at least on one side of the cavity, shiftably attached and is movable along the cavity so that the fastening of the shoe wear may occur when the locking part is moved so that the parts are pulled towards one another. The locking part is lockable in different setting positions along the tracks.
Abstract: A package that has a flat base that is attached to a first capsule. The capsule has a straw placed therein that may be flattened and folded. A secondary capsule is attached to the base to cover the rest of the straw. The secondary capsule has a tab and overlaps the first capsule. The secondary capsule may be pulled away from the base to allow the straw to be removed therefrom and making further pulling impossible or very difficult and thus enabling the secondary capsule to remain attached to the package.
Abstract: The voltage detection stick comprises an elongate and hollow casing member that has a front and a back. A tip is rotatably and removably attached to the front of the casing member and a sensor is disposed within the casing member for sensing the presence of a voltage when the sensor is positioned adjacent an electrically conductive member. The casing member has an indicator and an integrated circuit entirely disposed within the casing member for receiving a signal from the sensor and transmitting the signal to the indicator. A power source is disposed within the casing member for powering the sensor, the integrated circuit and the indicator.

Abstract: A structural panel system that has two skin members that are separated by a plurality of semi-flexible support members disposed therebetween. The support members and the skin members are adhered together by a semi-flexible core member. The outer skin member is movable relative to the inner skin member. The first skin member may be perforated and encapsulated by either the core member or a cementitious material to provide a variety of panel surfaces.
Abstract: The foldable carrier comprises first elongate flexible layers that has a first thickness with longitudinal opposite side edges. A second elongate layer is made of a porous soft material that has a second thickness and is secured to the first elongate flexible layer. The second thickness is substantially greater than the first thickness. A first stretcher side section is secured to a first carrier layer and is pivotally attached to one of the side edges of the first elongate flexible layer. The first stretcher side section is movable between an expanded position and a folded position so that the first carrier layer is movable towards the first elongate flexible layer to face the first elongate flexible layer when the first stretcher side section is in the folded position. The first elongate layer and the first carrier layer form a continuous uninterrupted surface attached to the second elongate flexible layer and the first stretcher side section.
Abstract: The two-stroke internal combustion engine has a cylinder, a piston, a connecting rod connected between a crankshaft and the piston. The engine has an inlet defined at a crankcase for conveying a fuel mixture from a carburetor. The engine includes a cylinder which has two pistons that move towards and away from each other. The engine includes crankcases at both ends of the cylinder so that each crankcase accommodates a crankshaft which is connected to the pistons via piston rods. The crankshafts are interconnected mechanically so that both pistons move simultaneously towards their top and bottom center positions. The carburetor is connected to the first crankcase. Only the second crankcase is connected to the induction port via a passage. The pipe extends between the first crankcase and the second crankcase for conveying the fuel mixture from the first crankcase to the second crankcase.
Abstract: A method in connection with continuous cooking of chips that comprises impregnating the chips with a impregnation liquid in an impregnation vessel and cooking the impregnated chips in a digester. The impregnation vessel and digester are connected to one another by means of a transfer circulation, which partly, via a feed line feeds the chips from an outlet end of the impregnation vessel to the top of the digester for separation of a free liquid in a separator. The separated liquid from the top of the digester is, partly, via a return line fed to the outlet end of the impregnation vessel for use as a transfer liqid for the impregnated chips to which cooking liquid is added to the chips at the top of the digester. Less than 100%, preferably less than 95%, and more preferred less than 90% of the liquid that is separated from the chips in the transfer circulation is recirculated to the used as transfer liquid.
