  • Patent number: 8240781
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a braking system for motor vehicles with electrically actuated hydraulic valves, the coils of which are powered up, at least in phases, with currents which modify the currentless state of the hydraulic valves, in order to heat the hydraulic fluid present in the system. The hydraulic fluid is heated via a heating profile which, in accordance with the hydraulic fluid temperature, activates the heating phase of the hydraulic fluid. The heating profile consists of a first heating phase and, subsequent thereto, a second heating phase. During the first heating phase, the coils are powered up in such a way that the coil temperature at the end of the first heating phase corresponds to a pre-defined temperature value of the coil which is at least approximately maintained during the second heating phase when powering up the coils.

  • Patent number: 8244429
Abstract: Secure failure of a brake switch is enabled with a simple configuration. When brake switches 6a and 6b are determined to be not ON together and not OFF together (S110 and S112), first and second determination counters perform count respectively (S114 and S120), and on the other hand, when the two brake switches 6a and 6b are determined to be ON together, a count value of the first determination counter is set to zero (S132), and when the brake switches are determined to be OFF together, a count value of the second determination counter is set to zero (S136), those operation being periodically repeated, and when one of the count values of the first and second determination counters exceeds one of respective predetermined values ? and ? (S118 and S214), one of the two brake switches 6a and 6b is determined to be failed, which enables detection of a failure state that one of the brake switches is normally ON or normally OFF.

  • Patent number: 8241023
Abstract: A pumping unit having a pump chamber with a rotor mounted in a rotatable manner within the chamber. The pumping chamber is formed by a circumferential wall and two end walls. The circumferential wall is formed on an annular collar of a pump part and has on its inner surface a track on which sealing bodies of a rotor roll. To avoid deformation of the pump part by hydraulic forces or by pressing-in forces, ribs are arranged on the outer surface of the circumferential wall which extend away from the pump chamber. A shoulder is arranged on the side of the end wall which is directed away from the pump chamber. The shoulder is connected by a press fit to the pump housing and has thin walls so that pressing forces do not result in any deformation to the end wall of the pump chamber.

  • Patent number: 8226018
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel injector with an injector housing which has a high-pressure fuel connection which is connected to a central high-pressure fuel source outside the injector housing, and with a pressure chamber within the injector housing. According to the pressure in a coupling chamber, fuel under a high pressure is injected from the pressure chamber into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine when a nozzle valve opens. The nozzle valve has a combustion chamber-remote end with a control pressure surface which is acted upon in the coupling chamber by the coupling chamber pressure. In order to create a fuel injector which can be produced inexpensively, the nozzle valve has at least one low-pressure surface which is averted from the combustion chamber and acted upon with low pressure.

  • Patent number: 8225598
Abstract: A metering device for introducing liquid reducing agent into an exhaust gas pipe. A metering valve is supplied with contents from a working tank by a delivery unit and dispenses the tank contents in a discharge direction. The delivery unit establishes a negative pressure between the delivery unit and the metering valve when the delivery direction is reversed. The negative pressure causes gas to be drawn off through the metering valve against the discharge direction. The delivery direction is reversed by either a feed pump with a reversible effective direction or a feed pump and a repolarization valve which communicates with the feed pump and transposes an inlet and an outlet of the feed pump.

  • Patent number: 8215226
Abstract: In the negative pressure booster, when in operation, a reaction disc (35) deflects due to the reaction from an output shaft (34) and pushes a pin (28) backward, and the pin (28) pushes a vacuum valve seat member (21) backward via an arm (25). Thereafter, the vacuum valve seat member (21) pushes up a valve body (15) backward via a vacuum valve portion (17), and an atmosphere valve portion (16) moves backward relative to a valve body (4). The stroke of an input shaft (11) is shortened by an amount an atmosphere valve (20) and a vacuum valve (23) have moved backward. As the valve body (15) is pushed up backward, further, a balance position for the atmosphere valve (20) and the vacuum valve (23) shifts backward depending upon the output (input). Therefore, the stroke of the input member is shortened at the time of producing a large output.

  • Patent number: 8210619
Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a braking control system of a two-wheeled motor vehicle, by which when a front-and-rear-wheel-interlocked brake operates, operation feeling of a brake lever is improved, and consequently more natural operation feeling may be provided. A braking control system of a two-wheeled motor vehicle according to the invention performs front-and-rear-wheel-interlocked braking control that allows a front-wheel brake and a rear-wheel brake to operate in an interlocked manner. The front-wheel brake is configured of a front-wheel first brake and a front-wheel second brake. ECU 400 controls a front-wheel hydraulic circuit 100 so that the first brake operates according to the front-and-rear-wheel-interlocked braking control. Furthermore, the ECU 400 controls the front-wheel hydraulic circuit 100 so that the front-wheel second brake receives hydraulic pressure caused along with operation of a brake lever 101 during performing the front-and-rear-wheel-interlocked braking control.
