  • Patent number: 8150590
Abstract: A two-wheeled motor vehicle brake control method and system which immediately reduces the brake pressure of the front wheel when rear wheel lifting is detected regardless of whether or not the front wheel is skidding. The reduction in brake pressure can be an amount which corresponds to the amount of lifting. The reduction in brake pressure can be performed in a stepwise manner until lifting is no longer being detected; it can be performed in a stepwise manner with a limit on the number of steps; or it can be performed in a stepwise manner until a total pressure reduction amount is achieved.

  • Patent number: 8128005
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel injector comprising an injector housing having a pressure chamber from which fuel subjected to a high pressure is injected into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine when the pressure in a control chamber expands into a pressure relief chamber by a control valve device. The aim of the invention is to create a fuel injector which has a long service life even though subjected to high pressures. To this end, the injector includes a low-pressure supply line which is connected to a low-pressure return line by a purge path extending through the pressure relief chamber.

  • Patent number: 8128180
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic braking system having a device for controlling brake slip, drive slip, and/or the driving stability of a vehicle. Among other things, such devices use pumps, valves, and reservoirs to control brake pressure in the wheel brakes in accordance with wheel slip occurring at the particular wheels. These components are in contact with each via a hydraulic circuit. The hydraulic circuit is built into a hydraulic block that has spaces for installing the components and channels for hydraulic contact. The invention makes possible a particularly compact and reduced-weight design of the hydraulic block and at the same time low manufacturing costs. For this purpose an advantageous layout and sealing of channels relative to each other and to the surrounding area is provided.

  • Patent number: 8123193
Abstract: The invention relates to a magnetic valve having a magnetic assembly and a capsule. An armature is disposed in the capsule and a valve insert is inserted in the capsule. A tappet is guided in a displaceable manner within the inner bore of the valve insert and sealingly immerges in a sealing seat. The valve insert is arranged at a distance from the armature via an adjustable air gap. According to the invention, the sealing seat is arranged in a sleeve which itself is disposed inside the capsule. The sleeve has at least one opening through which adjusting elements act upon the valve seat in order to regulate the magnetic flux generated by the magnetic assembly. The air gap between the valve insert and the armature is variable, whereby the adjusting elements either move the valve insert in axial direction towards the armature in order to increase the magnetic flux or move the valve insert away from the armature in order to reduce the magnetic flux.

  • Patent number: 8123308
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for suspending a unit, especially a hydraulic unit of an electronically traction-controlled brake system of a motor vehicle. The unit is suspended in a receptacle provided on the vehicle such that vibrations are damped. Hydraulic units of vehicle brake systems are usually equipped with an electric motor for driving pumps located in the hydraulic unit. The brake pressure in the wheel brakes can be modulated via the pumps. The pump drive can cause mechanical and hydraulic vibrations in the unit which can result in unwanted operational noise in case the vibrations are transmitted to the vehicle body without being damped. The improved device is manually preloaded due to limited space for using tools. A clamping mechanism is guided in an axially movable manner on an armature which is fixed to the hydraulic unit and which can be moved from a basic position into a clamping position. The clamping mechanism is interlocked with the armature in both positions.

  • Patent number: 8118573
Abstract: A piston pump having a piston longitudinally movable in a housing. A first pressure chamber is delimited by the piston element and a component affixed to the housing. The first pressure chamber is connected to a suction region via an inlet valve and is operationally connected to a delivery side via an outlet valve. A compensation piston unit has a working piston chamber connected to the delivery side. A stroke volume of the first pressure chamber is twice the size of a stroke volume of the working piston chamber. The piston element and a component affixed to the housing delimit a second pressure chamber connected to the suction region which is operationally connected to the first pressure chamber during a suction stroke of the piston element whose volume varies by half the stroke volume of the first pressure chamber and expands with a delivery stroke of the piston element.

  • Patent number: 8120326
Abstract: A rechargeable battery having a switch connects an internal load to the battery so that the battery can be shifted to a predetermined, lower load state. To shift the rechargeable battery into a lower load state for long-term storage, a Zener diode is connected in series with a resistor and the switch. The rechargeable battery voltage, which corresponds to the predetermined, lower load state, is selected as the breakdown voltage of the Zener diode. Manual actuation of the switch shifts the rechargeable battery to a lower load state, if the current load state is higher than the predetermined, lower load state. A digital version has a digital circuit connected electrically to the switch which is arranged for measuring the rechargeable battery voltage and which in the ON state triggers the switch if the measured rechargeable voltage exceeds a value that corresponds to the predetermined, lower load state.
