Abstract: A post-silicon technique for adjusting a current of a charge pump in a phase locked loop is provided. The technique involves use of an adjustment circuit operatively connected to the charge pump, where the adjustment circuit is controllable to facilitate an internal biasing of the charge pump. Such control of the charge pump current in a phase locked loop allows a designer to achieve desired PLL performance characteristics after the PLL has been fabricated.

Abstract: An eyelash curler that can selectively perform all-eyelashes curling and localized eyelashes curling is disclosed. The eyelash curler includes a curler main body, an immobilizing member attached to a top of the curler main body for immobilizing eyelashes, a plurality of first sandwiching-holding members attached to the curler main body underneath the immobilizing member and adapted to sandwich the eyelashes against the immobilizing member, and an operating handle attached to the curler main body for causing the plurality of first sandwiching-holding members to sandwich the eyelashes against the immobilizing member. By selecting a operation mode by a mode-switching switch, each of the plurality of first sandwiching-holding members can be independently pressed against and released from the immobilizing member so that a user can easily perform localized curling of the eyelashes.
Abstract: A charge pump design that facilitates post-fabrication control of delay locked loop charge pump current is provided. The charge pump includes an adjustment device responsive to user controlled signals that are varied to achieve a desired amount of charge pump current. Such control of the charge pump current in a delay locked loop allows a designer to achieve a desired DLL performance characteristic after the DLL has been fabricated.

Abstract: Lead wires (10) are soldered at their one ends respectively to lands (120) on a wiring board (100) while the other ends of the lead wires are connected to an electrical part mounted on a movable member (200). Abstract: A system for separating hydrocarbons from a material which includes a process chamber, a process pan operatively connected to the process chamber and removable therefrom, a blower operatively connected to the process chamber and to a heat source, the blower adapted to force heated air into the process chamber through the material disposed on the process pan, the forced heated air adapted to vaporize hydrocarbons and other contaminants disposed on the material, and at least one condenser operatively connected to the process chamber and adapted to condense the vaporized hydrocarbons and other contaminants is disclosed. Further, a method for separating hydrocarbons from a material which includes passing a stream of heated air over the material to volatilize the hydrocarbons, passing the stream of heated air containing the hydrocarbons through at least one condenser to form liquid hydrocarbons, collecting the liquid hydrocarbons, and recirculating the heated air is disclosed.
Abstract: A bi-center drill bit is disclosed which includes a bit body having pilot blades and reaming blades distributed azimuthally around the body. The blades have cutting elements disposed thereon at selected positions. The body and blades define a longitudinal axis of the bit and a pass-through axis of the bit. In one aspect, selected ones of the pilot blades include thereon, longitudinally between the pilot blades and the reaming blades, a pilot hole conditioning section including gage faces. The gage faces define a diameter intermediate a pilot hole diameter and a pass-through diameter defined, respectively, by the pilot blades and the reaming blades.
Abstract: A hardfacing composition for a drill bit is disclosed which includes a carbide phase made from about 80% to less than 100% by weight of a combination of sintered carbide pellets and crushed cast carbide and from more than 0% to about 20% by weight of carburized tungsten carbide. The composition includes a binder alloy. A roller cone drill bit includes a bit body and at least one roller cone rotatably mounted to the bit body. The at least one roller cone includes at least one cutting element. The cutting element has on its exterior surface a hardfacing. The hardfacing on the cutting element was formed with a hardfacing composition that includes a binder alloy and a carbide phase, which includes from about 80% to less than 100% by weight of a combination of sintered carbide pellets and crushed cast carbide, and from more than 0% to about 20% by weight of carburized tungsten carbide.
Abstract: A method and apparatus to determine skew of an on-chip signal without physical probing of the on-chip signal on the chip is provided. The method and apparatus use an externally generated reference signal that is distributed to one or more on-chip samplers that input the on-chip signal. Then, by modulating the externally generated reference signal, transitions of the on-chip signal can be detected at the one or more on-chip samplers so that the skew of the on-chip signal can be determined.

Abstract: A contour shape of a desired shape of a workpiece at section along a predetermined axis is divided into machining units. Each of the machining units includes a plurality of inflection points including a machining start point and a machining end point. Machining data at least necessary for performing machining is set for each of the machining units. Arrival times at the inflection points are calculated based on the machining data, and a position of at least one of the workpiece and the tool is calculated for each of the inflection points. For each of the machining units, a rotation angle position of the workpiece corresponding to the arrival time is set as an accumulated count value.
Abstract: A technique for optimizing decoupling capacitance on an integrated circuit while meeting leakage power constraints of the integrated circuit is provided. The technique involves the formulation of a linear optimization problem using physical characteristics and constraints of the integrated circuit, where a linear solution to the linear optimization problem yields an optimal decoupling capacitance presence on the integrated circuit.
Abstract: A fracture and wear resistant rock bit is disclosed, which includes a bit body, and at least one roller cone disposed on the bit body adapted such that at least one row of cutting elements disposed on the at least one roller cone defines a gage row. At least one cutting element disposed on the gage row has a fracture toughness of at least 20 ksi (in)0.5 and a wear number of at least 1.5.

Abstract: A waveform generation circuit 16 comprises an input terminal 28, a composing unit 21, a delay unit 23, a processing unit 25, a memory unit 27 and an output terminal 52. The predetermined pulse enters the input terminal 28 as an input signal. The delay unit 23 comprises a plurality of consecutively numbered delay elements 30, 31, . . . to 314 which delays the propagation of the input signal. The processing unit 25 has a plurality of processing means, each of that can output a delayed signal. The composing unit 21 composes said delayed signals so that an output waveform is generated.
Abstract: A linear aerospike rocket engine has a tapered body, a slanted or curved reaction plane, a leading end, and a trailing end. A first fuel injector is located at the leading end and directs a first fuel towards the reaction plane. A second fuel injector is located in between the leading end and trailing end and directs a second fuel towards the reaction plane. The second fuel injector helps to increase propulsive pressure across the reaction plane and inhibit boundary layer separation. A vortex may be induced parallel to the reaction plane to help increase propulsive pressure across the reaction plane. The vortex is induced using a flap or spoiler, a rotatable turbine, or at least two fuel injectors that direct fuel in counter current directions across the reaction plane. The reaction plane may be corrugated, dimpled, grooved, or coated with a special material to inhibit boundary layer separation from the reaction plane.
Abstract: A method of filtering a packet data stream as transmitted in a digital audiovisual transmission system characterized in that transport packet data is filtered at a first stage by a digital filter according to the characteristics of the transport packet header, selected filtered data being then passed directly to a memory element within the receiver/decoder. In a second aspect, the method comprises filtering a packet data stream characterized in that transport packet data is filtered at a first stage by a first digital filter according to the characteristics of the transport packet header, selected filtered data from the paload corresponding to a continuous flux of data then being passed to a second digital filter for a second stage of filtering.
