  • Patent number: 6642756
Abstract: A frequency multiplier design that uses a flip-flop to output (1) a first edge on an output clock signal upon receipt of a first transition of an input clock signal and (2) a second edge on the output clock signal before receipt of a second transition of the input clock signal is provided. The frequency multiplier design uses circuitry dependent on the output clock signal to reset the flip-flop after some delay but before the second transition of the input clock signal, wherein the resetting of the flip-flop causes the flip-flop to output the second edge on the output clock signal.

  • Patent number: 6633402
Abstract: The present invention is a printer controller furnished with a processor for exclusively executing a first task (printing task) for controlling a print engine, a second task (communication task) for controlling communication with host computers, and a third task (language task) for generating image data. These tasks are assigned priorities of execution in the order of the printing task, the communication task, and the language task. When there is a request for the execution of a task with a higher priority during the execution of a task with a lower priority, the processor executes the higher priority task whose execution has been requested instead of the lower priority task currently being executed. Therefore, the processor is able to execute the communication task, language task, and printing task with no conflict.

  • Patent number: 6629467
Abstract: In a method for determining the flow rate of a fluid flowing in a channel (2), the fluid being constituted by a liquid or a gas, two pulse shaped, oscillating signals are sent through the medium with one signal directed against (14) and the other signal directed with (12) the flow direction (4) of the fluid. The transmitted signals are received and the flow rate is determined by means of the phase shift between the received, pulse shaped signals caused by the flow of the fluid. The phase shift (20) between the signals is determined while compensating for the dwell time of the pulse shaped oscillating signals in the fluid.

  • Patent number: 6629277
Abstract: An interface in an integrated circuit allows an LSSD storage element and a non-LSSD storage element to function together in the same scan chain. The interface has a data lock-up module, a test enable module, a master observe module, and a clock generator module. The data lock-up module latches data to be scanned into the integrated circuit through the scan chain. The test enable module indicates the status of a tester for testing the integrated circuit. The clock generator module generates a write clock and separate, non-overlapping master and slave scan clocks for a master latch and a slave latch in the LSSD storage element. The master observe module selectively asserts the slave scan clock prior to the master scan clock in order to latch the initial data bit appearing at the master latch.

  • Patent number: 6626471
Abstract: A threaded tubular connection has a box member including an internal thread, a pin member including an external thread engageable with the internal thread of the box member, and a protruding sealing surface disposed in the box member such that the pin member flexes radially inward upon passing the protruding sealing surface during make-up. The threaded tubular connection also has a recessed seal cavity disposed in the box member and a reverse angle shoulder at the pin nose that forces the pin member to flex radially outward into the recessed seal cavity of the box member upon final make-up. A method of forming a double flex seal for a tubular connection includes engaging an internal thread of a pin member with an external thread of a box member and flexing a pin nose of the pin member radially inward by passing the pin nose over a protruding sealing surface of the box member during make-up.

  • Patent number: 6628097
Abstract: A machine tool and a control method therefor providing an improved machining accuracy even when a numerical control and electronic cam control coexist. The CPU determines the moving position of the workpiece, the tool, and the drilling tool according to the command from each channel machining sequence storage portion, and outputs the determined position as a command signal in response to the pulse signal generated at the pulse signal generating circuit. The workpiece, the tool, and the drilling tool are thereby electronic cam controlled. The CPU also determines the moving position of the workpiece and the tool according to the command from each channel machining sequence storage portion, and outputs the determined position as a command signal in response to the divided timing signal generated at the divided timing signal generating circuit. The workpiece and the tool are thereby numerically controlled.
