Abstract: The invention relates to a system for the design and use of decision models. More specifically, the invention relates to an automatic method for decision making by a virtual or physical agent on the basis of external variables derived from an environment described by a digital model or physical sensors and variables internal to the agent described by digital parameters, and to decision-making means which control the actions of the agent. The invention is characterized in that the decision-making means determines the parameters of at least one action of the agent on the basis of at least one part of the internal or external variables. According to the invention, the operation consisting in determining the parameters of an action is performed by several decision sub-processes which are each a function of at least part of the external and internal variables.
Abstract: A system and method for traffic flow reporting are provided. An satellite digital audio radio service (SDARS) system receives traffic flow information for segments of roads with service coverage at a vehicle. A vehicle communications, navigation and tracking (VCNT) service system compares present Global Positioning System (GPS) position of the vehicle with the traffic flow information received from the SDARS system. If the present GPS position is within a segment, the VCNT service system compares present vehicle speed with a received traffic flow speed range. If vehicle speed is outside a received traffic flow speed range, the VCNT service system generates a message with present location and speed. An automated traffic flow aggregation system receives the message transmissions and applies location-specific filters based on number of messages received before forwarding a flow speed revision message to an SDARS broadcast station for broadcasting the traffic information to subscribers. Abstract: An apparatus for degassing oil comprising:—a room (30) for receiving oil comprising a first chamber (30a) and a second chamber (30b) connected to the first chamber;—an inlet (31) feeding oil into the first chamber;—an outlet (32) for feeding oil out of the first chamber;—a suction arrangement (40) connected to the outlet (32) for sucking out oil from the room;—a non-return valve (33) connected to the second chamber; and—a regulating device comprising a float (51) and a valve member (52) activated by the float for regulating the feeding of oil into the room. The float has a lower section (51) located in the first chamber and an upper section (51 b) extending into the second chamber. The upper section delimits a flow passage (63) extending between the first chamber and the second chamber. The valve member is arranged to open the inlet when the float assumes a lower position in the room and close the inlet when the float assumes an upper position in the room.
Abstract: A pressure accumulator, in particular a pulsation damper, has an accumulator housing (1) defining a longitudinal axis (3) and having an inflow opening (15) and an outflow opening (17) for a fluid. A gas space (23) for a working gas and a fluid space (33) are separated from one another inside the accumulator housing (1) in a gas-tight manner by a bellows-like separating member (21). The separating member (21) is connected at one end (25) to a lid (27) forming a fixed termination of the gas space (23) in relation to the housing and at its other end (29) to a piston part (31) axially movable in the accumulator housing (1) and forming a movable termination of the gas space (23). Working movements of the piston part (31) bring about changes in volume of the working spaces adjoining the separating member (21). Inflow opening (15) and outflow opening (17) are respectively provided at the one end and at the other end, opposite one another in the axial direction of the accumulator housing (1).
Abstract: A process and an apparatus are described for the treatment of wafers, in particular for the thinning of wafers. A wafer with a carrier layer and an interlayer arranged between the carrier layer and the wafer is also described, in which the interlayer is a plasmapolymeric layer that adheres to the wafer and adheres more strongly to the carrier layer than to the wafer.

Abstract: A natural algae-based synthetic lubricant derived from harvesting kelp from the ocean, recovering sieve sap from the kelp, drying the sieve sap, and removing salts and oxides to leave a composition having a concentration of polyols (Mannitol about 70% and Mannose about 0.4%) and about 28% by weight of a high molecular weight polymer. The synthetic lubricant may be used as a drag reducing agent and additive for existing lubricants and also further reacted with fatty esters to form a hybrid lubricant that may serve as a total replacement for existing lubricants.
Abstract: A method for initiating uplink signaling proactively by the MBMS UE, comprising steps of: the UE moving to a new cell; listening to information on a MCCH; initiating an uplink signaling according to information on the MCCH; sending a response message to the UE by a RNC, or if no UE moving to the new cell, initiating the uplink signaling proactively by the UE if the information received from the MCCH includes an indication for UE counting; and sending a response message to the UE by the RNC. The UE in URA_PCH mode and IDLE mode can response to the MBMS Notification message sent by the RNC, and can initiate the Cell Update process or the RRC Connection process in order to obtain the MBMS parameters. The RNC sets different contents for the response message according to different reasons of message initiation.

Therefore, paper sheets having various sizes may be loaded in the paper cassette, and the size of an image forming apparatus with the paper cassette and the packing size of the image forming apparatus may be reduced without limitation on the size of the paper cassette.
Abstract: Provided are a direct image formation method and apparatus in which a predetermined image file that is transmitted from a host computer is directly received and printed or transmitted. The direct image formation method includes setting a USB class of the direct image formation apparatus to a mass storage class (MSC) and connecting the direct image formation apparatus to the host device in an MSC connection mode; transmitting the image file from the host device to the direct image formation apparatus in the MSC connection mode; and converting the image file to data in a predetermined printing format and printing the data into which the image file is converted.
Abstract: Apparatus and method for creating a preview image of an object is provided. The apparatus includes an object type detecting unit for detecting an object to be previewed for determining whether the type of the object is text, graphics, and image, a color matching unit for converting a color signal of the detected object into an image forming color signal by using a color profile corresponding to the detected object according to the detection result of the object type detecting unit, and a preview image creating unit for creating and displaying a preview image for the object converted into the image forming color signal. Therefore, because the preview image is displayed on a monitor according to the type of object (text, graphics, or image), a user can predict the image forming result more accurately. Further, because the colors of objects can be adjusted, a printout with desired color characteristics can be obtained.
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for setting a printing option using a preview image. Setting the printing option includes an image preview unit displaying a preview image corresponding to printing data and enabling the preview image to be manipulated for setting a printing setting, a control unit controlling printing of the preview image according to the printing setting of the manipulated preview image, and a printing option setting unit setting a printing option, wherein the control unit applies the printing setting of the preview image to the printing option of the printing option setting unit.
