Abstract: A process utilizes the tetrazole functional group to direct lithiation at the ortho position of a phenyltetrazole and generate a nucleophilic aryllithium species which then undergoes reaction with an electrophile to generate a 2-substituted 1-(tetrazol-5-yl)benzene. The process is useful in the production of intermediates in the synthesis of angiotensin II antagonists. This novel process is a more cost effective and versatile route for the large-scale preparation of these key intermediates.

Abstract: There is disclosed a novel sandwich blister package for tablets and similar articles which generally comprises a plastic film having a plurality of heat-formed cavities which contain tablets or similar articles; and, a plastic film/aluminum foil laminate sheet superimposed upon and heat sealed to the plastic film to form a blister card of pre-set size, each blister card being bonded to another blister card so that the aluminum foil forms the outer protective cover with the plastic film sandwiched between them.
Abstract: There is disclosed a novel bottle and cap closure system for dropper bottles and the like which comprises a set of lugs or cams and a snap bead provided in the cap and a set of lugs or cams provided on the neck portion of the bottle. After the bottle is filled, the cap is secured to the bottle by having the snap bead on the cap engage the lugs or cams on the bottle. The snap bead in the cap is carried on the circumferential lower edge of a tear-away band. After the tear-away band is removed to use the contents of the bottle, the cap is re-secured to the bottle by engaging the lugs or cams in the cap to the lugs or cams on the bottle.
