Abstract: Provided is a base station capable of suppressing increase of overhead of allocation result report in frequency scheduling in multi-carrier communication and obtaining a sufficient frequency diversity effect. In the base station, encoding units (101-1 to 101-n) encode data (#1 to #n) to mobile stations (#1 to #n), modulation units (102-1 to 102-n) modulate the encoded data so as to generate a data symbol, a scheduler (103) performs frequency scheduling according to a CQI from each mobile station so as to uniformly allocate data to the respective mobile stations for a part of RB extracted from a plurality of RB, and an SCCH generation unit (105) generates control information (SCCH information) to report the allocation result in the scheduler (103) to the respective mobile stations.
Abstract: Provided are a multicarrier transmitter and a multicarrier receiver which accelerate cell search and reduce a circuit scale by reducing the operation quantity for cell search. The transmitter (100) has: a real number SCH series generation part (105) which generates a real number series consisting of only real number signals; an SCH multiplexing part (104) which maps the real number series as a P-SCH; and an IFFT part (106) which converts a frequency signal to a time signal. By doing like this, the transmitter (100) forms a time-synchronous P-SCH, and performs transmission. Thus, a correlation operation quantity about the P-SCH on a reception side is reduced.
Abstract: A biomass torrefaction system is provided which enables a continuous torrefaction process that involves the introduction of biomass particles into a rotating reactor drum having a low oxygen environment. The particles are conveyed through the drum by a heated gas stream and simultaneously torrefied thereby. Gas exiting the drum is recirculated back to a heat source for reheating the gas prior to reentering the drum. A method of biomass torrefaction is also provided.

An arrangement for the same includes user computers for receiving requests for information, network communication devices for transmitting the requests to potential responders, memory for storing electronic responses and a controller for organizing, updating, and providing access to the electronic responses.
Abstract: The invention relates to the initiation of a service to a mobile terminal capable of communicating via at least a first and second access network. Further, the invention relates to a reduction of power consumption of mobile terminals supporting connectivity to at least two access networks. The invention also relates to mobile communication systems and in particular to mobile communications through heterogeneous access networks. In order to prove improved method for initiating services to mobile terminals and/or to reduce power consumption of mobile terminals, the invention introduces of a sleep state that can be entered by the terminal for an access system if same is not used. Upon requesting a service from/to the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal starts service initiation through a second access system and transits back to active state for the first access system for service provision.
Abstract: A fully compostable container is provided having an enclosed body with an opening through an interior surface and an exterior surface. The enclosed body having a plant fiber structural layer configured to biodegrade in ambient conditions into nontoxic residue and a fluid barrier layer formed on a first side of the structural layer to form the interior surface of the enclosed body, the fluid barrier layer configured to biodegrade in ambient conditions into nontoxic residue. The container is gradually biodegradable when exposed to a set of factors in a natural environment and has a shelf life of six months when stored under standard commercial conditions.
Abstract: A trimmable resistor for use in an integrated circuit is trimmed using a heater. The heater is selectively coupled to a voltage source. The application of voltage to the heater causes the heater temperature to increase and produce heat. The heat permeates through a thermal separator to the trimmable resistor. The resistance of the trimmable resistor is permanently increased or decreased when the temperature of the resistor is increased to a value within a particular range of temperatures.

Abstract: Techniques are described for dynamically generating recommendations for users, such as for products and other items. In at least some situations, the techniques include using multiple recommendation strategies, such as by aggregating recommendation results from multiple different recommendation strategies. Such recommendation strategies may have various forms, and may be based at least in part on data regarding prior interactions of numerous users with numerous items. In addition, information about current selections of a particular user may be gathered based at least in part on providing a GUI (“graphical user interface”) for display to the user that includes selectable information about numerous recommended items, and dynamically updating the displayed GUI with newly generated recommendations of items as the user makes selections of particular displayed recommended items (e.g.

Abstract: A self-adaptive control method for logical strips based on a multi-channel solid-state non-volatile storage device is provided. The method includes the following steps. Storage space of every channel is divided into a plurality of storage units of equal size. At least one logical strip is set by which the storage units with discrete physical addresses across the channels are organized into a continuous logical space, and a logical strip variable is set for determining the storage units organized by the logical strip. Historical operation information of the storage device is obtained statistically, and the logical strip variable is dynamically adjusted according to the obtained operation information. During data interaction, the data is divided according to the logical strip variable, the divided data is mapped to the storage units of every channel, and parallel reading and writing operations are performed among the channels.
Abstract: A recursive approach to quantum computing employs an initial solution, determines intermediate solutions, evaluates the intermediate solutions and repeats using the intermediate solution, if the intermediate solution does not satisfy solution criteria. A best one of the intermediate solutions may be employed in the recursion.
Abstract: A control method for logical strips based on a multi-channel solid-state non-volatile storage device is provided. The method includes the following processing steps. In Step 1, a storage space of every channel is partitioned into a plurality of storage units of equal size. In Step 2, at least one logical strip is set by which the storage units with discrete physical addresses across a plurality of channels are organized into a continuous logical space. In Step 3, during data reading/writing operation, the data is divided according to a size of each local strip, the divided data is mapped to the storage units of every channel, and a parallel reading/writing operation is performed across the channels. This method may increase the efficiency of reading and writing operations of the storage device and prolong the operating life span of the device.
