Patent number: 5946066Abstract: A liquid crystal display having a lower substrate, a data line bended and formed on the lower substrate, a counter electrode bended in the same direction as the data line and formed on the lower substrate, and a pixel electrode bended in the same direction as the data line and formed on the lower substrate. The pixel electrode has a bar for bisecting a space defined by the counter electrode. The counter electrode is a rectangular frame. Accordingly, an aperture ratio of the liquid crystal display is increased while multidomain is formed between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1998Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd.Inventors: Seung Hee Lee, Hyang Yul Kim, Woo Ho Choi

Patent number: 5888105Abstract: A multi-station female blade receptacle stamping has female blade receptacles. Each receptacle is three sided, having a longitudinal opening. There is a flat side and curved side. The metal is resilient so that the curved side releases from the plastic when molded into a multi-outlet receptacle. In the multi-outlet receptacle, each female blade receptacle is supported against unwanted flexure and biased against a received blade, providing full surface contact on one side of the receptacle. The sides of the female blade receptacle do not fatigue in use. The multi-station female blade receptacle is economical of metal and adapted for automated crimping. The structure of the receptacle enables one size receptacle to serve blades of various widths and thicknesses. Molding multi-station female blade receptacle stampings into a multi-outlet receptacle saves crimping of multiple parts and can be effected in prior art molds.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1996Date of Patent: March 30, 1999Assignee: Heyco Products, Inc.Inventors: Donald C. Patent number: 5882528Abstract: A device for filtering fluid includes a hollow housing having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. A filter element formed of fluid permeable material is disposed within the housing for filtering fluid entering the fluid inlets, the fluid passing through the element and out the fluid outlet. The element has a generally cylindrical configuration with the permeable material forming a plurality of elongated, radially extending pleats. The pleats are supported by spacers having a plurality of blades attached to a web with channels therebetween. The element is used as a septum for supporting a diatomaceous earth precoat. A regeneration piston creates fluid flows within the filter that cause the element to flutter, thereby displacing DE precoat from the septum for regeneration.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1996Date of Patent: March 16, 1999Assignee: H-Tech, Inc.Inventor: Donald Robert Davidson

Patent number: 5882200Abstract: The significant inventive measure of the arrangement for connecting an implant (1) to the conical secondary part (800) consists in the fact that a radially encircling shoulder part (860) is provided on the conical pillar (830), which shoulder part bears, in the form of an circular ring and partially, on the implant shoulder (14), while the remaining surface on the implant shoulder (14) is covered by the mating shoulder (301) of the impression cap (300) or the crown cap. The shoulder part (860) and the mating shoulders (301) are of complementary configuration to the implant shoulder (14). The connection arrangement can be used in particular in conjunction with a novel plug connection. Further advantages consist in the higher precision in dentistry work which can be achieved without any increased production outlay.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1997Date of Patent: March 16, 1999Assignee: Institut Straumann AGInventors: Franz Sutter, Fran.cedilla.is J. Sutter

Patent number: 5872335Abstract: A sealing nut adapted for use in connection with a liquid-tight connector, which is mountable on a housing of an electrical or mechanical device and which includes a grasping portion adjacent an end thereof projecting outwardly from the housing, is disclosed. More particularly, the sealing nut includes a base having a passageway extending therethrough along a longitudinal axis of the base and being sized and shaped to removably receive the grasping portion of the connector. The sealing nut also includes a cover pivotally connected to the base such that the cover is movable between an open position, in which the cover exposes the passageway of the base to an extent sufficient to allow a cable to be fed through the sealing nut in a substantially straight line running generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the base, and a closed position, in which the cover overlies the passageway in the base such that the cover loosely guides the cable to form a bend therein.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1997Date of Patent: February 16, 1999Assignee: Heyco Products, Inc.Inventor: Thomas M. Mullen, Jr.

Patent number: 5871641Abstract: A device for filtering fluid includes a hollow housing (10) having a fluid inlet (26) and a fluid outlet (28). A filter element (50) formed of fluid permeable material is disposed within the housing (10) for filtering fluid entering the fluid inlet (26), the fluid passing through the element (50) and out the fluid outlet (28). The element has a generally cylindrical configuration with the permeable material forming a plurality of elongated, radially extending pleats (98). The pleats are supported by spacers (81) having a plurality of blades (102) attached to a web (106) with channels (104) therebetween. The element (50) is used as a septum for supporting a diatomaceous earth precoat. A regeneration piston (76) creates fluid flows within the filter that cause the element (50) to flutter, thereby displacing the diatomaceous earth precoat from the septum for regeneration.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1997Date of Patent: February 16, 1999Assignee: H-Tech, Inc.Inventor: Donald R. Patent number: 5849333Abstract: A delaminated talc has a plurality of high aspect ratio, smooth surface particles. The aspect ratio of the particles is determined by dividing their extent along an upper surface thereof by their thickness. The upper surface is substantially parallel to the lamellar interface direction and the thickness is measured perpendicularly to the interface direction. The upper, lower and side surfaces of the particles are smooth, lacking acute angularity and staircase effect which give rise to increased coefficient of friction and light scattering. The talc is especially suitable in cosmetic and pharmacologic preparations due to its high degree of transparency, skin adhesiveness, lubricity and spreadability.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1995Date of Patent: December 15, 1998Assignee: American Westmin, Inc.Inventors: Mary Ann Nordhauser, James Robert Anderson

Patent number: 5836768Abstract: For a dental implant (10) which can be inserted into the jaw bone (1) and which is intended principally as a support for a crown or another superstructure, an anchoring base (30) which s can be fitted releasably on the implant (10) was created for the purpose of preliminary orthodontic treatment. The vertical outer sides of the anchoring base (30) are designed as fastening surfaces (31). A bracket (50) can be fixed on a selected fastening surface (31) by means of a bonding layer (60). Orthodontic apparatus components (70, 71) are fastened on this bracket (50). The anchoring base (30) is screwed onto the implant (10) using an occlusal screw (80) and in the process can be locked in a finely adjustable position of rotation. The eccentrically arranged bore (37) promotes adaptation to the spatial conditions and to the orthodontic task. The anchoring base (30) is suitable for a wide range of types of implants (10) and brackets (50).Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1997Date of Patent: November 17, 1998Assignee: Institut Straumann AGInventors: Christoph Huskens, Ulrich Mundwiler, Jurgen Glatzmaier
