  • Patent number: 4654767
Abstract: A lampshade made in accordance with this invention is characterized in that it consists solely of a plurality of comparatively thin sheets of a same shape corresponding to a front vertical cross-sectional view of the lampshade or a vertically cut out half of said view. Each sheets has strips which are aligned in parallel with each other, and each strip has a base portion located adjacently to an outer contour of the sheet and a free end located oppositely to the base portion. When the plurality of sheets bound together at least at upper ends thereof are framed to the lampshade, they extend radially outwardly with a desired angular distance therebetween and strips thereof bridge over the outer contours of the sheets.

  • Patent number: 4645241
Abstract: A laminating envelope has first, second and third rectangular panels which are sequentially secured together along longitudinal edges. Each of the panels has a front and a rear surface and at least one of the panels is transparent. The first and second panels are disposed in facial relation and the aligned edges thereof are secured together for providing a pocket between the panels. A score line in the third panel extends between the third panel side edges. The second panel side edges have a length exceeding the first panel edge length by at least the width of the score line and the third panel side edges are substantially equal in length to the second panel side edges. Adhesive is disposed over the first panel rear surface so that folding of the third panel along the score line causes the third panel rear surface to be in facial relation therewith and secured to the first panel rear surface by the adhesive for thereby securing and sealing the pocket.

  • Patent number: 4643087
Abstract: A system for monitoring the fullness of a compactor waste receiving container utilizes the back pressure generated by the compacted waste for determining the fullness of the container. The compactor ram is stopped when in the forward compacting position and the pressure exerted by the waste on the ram is monitored for thereby determining the fullness of the container. The system further includes a timer for monitoring the time required for displacement of the ram. Should the ram fail to attain the waste compacted position within a pre-determined time period then the hydraulic system is shut down and an indicator is lit in order to show to the operator that the container is full.

  • Patent number: 4640299
Abstract: An apparatus for drying and conditioning tobacco leaves, including a heater for heating conditioning air for conditioning tobacco leaves after drying, a temperature controller for controlling the heater so that the temperature of the conditioning air becomes a preset temperature, an atomized water sprayer for cooling the conditioning air fed to the heater, a humidifier for humidifying the conditioning air, and a humidity controller for detecting the moisture content of the tobacco leaves after drying and conditioning and controlling the humidifier so that the moisture content of the tobacco leaves becomes a target moisture content. The humidity controller is so constructed as to control the humidifier on the basis of a wet-bulb temperature. Saving of heat energy can be attained, and because a cooling chamber is not needed, the apparatus can be made compact and it becomes easier to stabilize a target moisture content.
