  • Patent number: 4603625
Abstract: A system for monitoring the fullness of a compactor waste receiving container utilizes the back pressure generated by the compacted waste for determining the fullness of the container. The compactor ram is stopped when in the forward compacting position and the pressure exerted by the waste on the ram is monitored for thereby determining the fullness of the container. The system further includes a timer for monitoring the time required for displacement of the ram should the ram fail to attain the waste compacted position within a pre-determined time period then the hydraulic system is shut down and an indicator is lit in order to show to the operator that the container is full.

  • Patent number: 4594485
Abstract: An impact sensor has a housing with an inner chamber. A first electrical contact extends from the housing and has a contact portion disposed in the chamber. A second electrical contact extends from the housing and is spaced from the first contact and has an aperture in the housing surrounding the contact portion. An insulating material is disposed between the contacts for maintaining electrical isolation of the contacts. A plastically deformed conductive arcuate spring is in electrical connection with the second contact along generally the periphery of the aperture and has a first position arched away from the contact portion and a second position arched toward and engaged with the contact portion for thereby establishing electrical connection between the contacts. A mass is movably positioned in the chamber and is engageable with the spring for shifting the spring from the first to the second position upon detection of a collision.

  • Patent number: 4592526
Abstract: Adjustable holding device for holding an item in a desired location relative to a surface, for example it can be used in a marine control system for holding an end of an outer sheath of a control cable adjacent a throttle control. To avoid the excessive number of brackets commonly required for holding items such as control cables, housings, and other light-weight accessories relative to an engine crankcase, gearbox, etc., the present invention provides a holding device that is universally adjustable in three planes to permit simple attachment to the crank case or gearbox with one portion of the device, and easy attachment at an opposite end to the item to be located. The device has inner and outer brackets for securing to the surface and to the item itself, with first, second and third members extending between the brackets. Lockable hinges connect adjacent members and brackets together rigidly, and yet provide adjustment to permit a wide range of inclination of the items.

  • Patent number: 4580553
Abstract: Massage apparatus for medicinal-therapeutical treatment of human genitals at psychical or physical irritations. A carrier tube is enclosed in a toroidal rubber hose, also filled with an antifriction mass like glycerin. Pairs of support rollers inside of the hose are journalized on the tube in encircling relationship thereof. Driving rollers, each associated to one pair of support rollers, are in engagement with the rubber hose supported by the inner support rollers for effecting revolving movement of the hose longitudinally around the tube. The drive rollers encircling the hose on the tube are rotatably supported in a common frame or housing and by their engagement with the support rollers at the same time maintain and support the carrier tube and hose.

  • Patent number: 4575989
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for packaging palletized stacks of goods which are brought on a chain conveyor to a wrap cover station where they are raised by an elevating platform located under the wrap cover station. A suction fan is provided under the wrap cover station which sucks in the edges of a shrink wrap drawn over the stack of goods, which edges project over the underside of the pallet, before the palletized stack of goods is lowered and transported to a shrinking station. In addition, tools for folding back the projecting edges of the shrink wrap under the pallet are located in the zone of the wrap cover station. In order that folded-back sections which are as free of folds as possible are produced on the underside of the pallet, the tools are slide plates which are located at the height of the upper side of the elevating platform when the elevating platform is raised and the plate and slide plane of which runs essentially parallel to the plane of transport.

  • Patent number: 4574510
Abstract: A barrel locking mechanism for a break-open-action gun having a barrel and a mechanical section rotatably engaged with each other by a hinge-pin. It has a lug secured to the barrel and having a delining surface. While a stationary receiver is integrally mounted on the mechanical section. On the top of it, a movable receiver having a delining surface corresponding to that of the lug is vertically movably mounted through a spring. When the gun is locked, the lug moves downwards depressing the movable receiver against the spring. As a result, intimate contact of the corresponding surfaces is obtained in order to receive the load when the gun is discharged.
