  • Patent number: 8225445
Abstract: The invention makes provision for the final wash liquid from the washing device to be separated from the items of laundry in a water-removal device, specifically together with a large portion of the final wash liquid bound in the items of laundry. The items of laundry are then rinsed in the water-removal device. Following this, the rinse liquid is routed away from the items of laundry. The final wash liquid and the rinse liquid are temporarily stored in separate storage tanks and returned to the subsequent wash process in a deliberate manner. A mixture of at least a portion of the final wash liquid and the rinse liquid is fed particularly to the prewash zone in order to prewash the next batch of items of laundry.

  • Patent number: 8225173
Abstract: A method for creating cyclic permutation matrices P (810), with an arbitrary size Z×Z set by a parameter Z5 and which are used to create one or more LDPC related matrices in OFDMA systems, comprising: defining an integer value Z; creating an initial matrix (810); creating a matrix (810) by using cyclic shifts to each row; repeating stage 3, up to Z?2 times as required, thus creating up to Z?2 matrices: P(o) . . . P(Z?I); creating an additional stairs matrix P(st). A method for using cyclic per-mutation matrixes P (840), with a fixed size Z×Z set by a parameter Z, and which are used to create one or more LDPC related matrices (820) in OFDMA systems, comprising: defining an integer value Z; storing in memory means an initial matrix (810) and its cyclic shifts permutations (840), thus keeping memory means matrices: P(o) . . . P(Z?I); storing an additional stairs matrix P(st) (840); using these matrices (810) to create LDPC related matrices (840) or LDPC operations.

  • Patent number: 8216215
Abstract: A skin treatment apparatus that includes, a disposable electrode carrier with a plurality of voltage-applying dome-shaped elements protruding from the surface of the electrode carrier. Further, the protruding elements are spaced apart in a pattern. The apparatus operates to apply a voltage to at least some of the protruding elements. The apparatus applies a voltage to the protruding elements with a magnitude that is sufficient to result in an electrical break down of the skin and thereby cause electric current enabling the desired treatment.

  • Patent number: 8219107
Abstract: The amount of data that is transmitted over a cellular network is reduced thereby providing an improvement in the quality of service. The data reduction is obtained by intercepting data units transferred over a bearer between two nodes, such as a BTS and BSC. The current load for a bearer is determined and based on the current load, the source of the data is requested to change the bit rate of subsequent data units. Thus, the bit rate of data that is transmitted toward two intermediate nodes is changed in order to control the load over a bearer that connects the two intermediate nodes.

  • Patent number: 8216363
Abstract: A process and system for continuous crystallization of a compound using antisolvent addition in which a solution is prepared with an organic compound and a solvent. An antisolvent is added to the solution in a continuous plug flow system comprising at least one process module. The antisolvent can be added in multiple addition points such that the overall amount of antisolvent added to the continuous plug flow reactor remains fixed. The multiple addition point technique provides every process module with an equal volume of antisolvent. Finally, crystals are recovered from the slurry upon exiting the system. Preferably, the mean crystal size is less than 100 ?m.

  • Patent number: 8194669
Abstract: A system and method suitable for identifying the type of communication that is transferred between two intermediate nodes over a communication link that has a plurality of different channels or sub-channels each of which carry user's data. With accurate identification of the communication types, subsequent bandwidth management decisions can be made such that a telecommunications system can have increased bandwidth utilization without jeopardizing user contracted QoS levels.

  • Patent number: 8190542
Abstract: A neural network includes neurons and wires adapted for connecting the neurons. Some of the wires comprise input connections and exactly one output connection and/or a part of the wires comprise exactly one input connection and output connections. Neurons are hierarchically arranged in groups. A lower group of neurons recognizes a pattern of information input to the neurons of this lower group. A higher group of neurons recognizes higher level patterns. A strength value is associated with a connection between different neurons. The strength value of a particular connection is indicative of a likelihood that information which is input to the neurons propagates via the particular connection. The strength value of each connection is modifiable based on an amount of traffic of information which is input to the neurons and which propagates via the particular connection and/or is modifiable based on a strength modification impulse.

  • Patent number: 8182404
Abstract: The invention provides for the replacement of the cutting plate (15) and the press die (16) to be carried out automatically, specifically with the aid of a positioning device for positioning the stack of printed sheets (11) to be trimmed under the press die (16). In this way, the automatic conversion of the automatic three-knife trimmer for a format change is possible without a significant change to the automatic three-knife trimmer. Only the control system of the positioning device has to be changed and expanded. The positioning device (21) automatically ensures that the new press die (16) and the new cutting plate (15) are positioned exactly. In particular, the positioning of the die plate (19) under the format plate (18) can be carried out automatically by means of the positioning device with the required high accuracy, to be specific with higher accuracy than would be possible manually.

  • Patent number: 8182826
Abstract: A refreshment towel with applied solution is an apparatus consisting of a carrying agent, most likely a high quality cotton towel or towelette, that has been saturated with an aqueous solution comprised of various ingredients. The resulting saturated towel can be rubbed on a user's skin such that the aqueous solution that has been absorbed by the towel is transferred. The aqueous solution is compounded specifically to provide cooling, insect repellant, sun protection, freshness, cleansing and other uses. More specifically, the aqueous solution is specially formulated so that desired sensory results take place when the towel comes in contact with the skin.
