  • Patent number: 8172729
Abstract: An exercise treadmill having an endless exercise surface for walking or running while exercising, a resistance mechanism for providing a resistance for simulating the pushing or pulling of a load, wherein the resistance can be adjusted and set to a specific resistance setting. A movable pushing and pulling means is or are operatively attached to the resistance mechanism to transfer the load to the user. The resistance mechanism applies a constant and static force to the pushing and pulling means only in the same direction the endless movable surface moves and opposite a pushing or pulling direction such that operating the treadmill simulates the pushing or pulling of a load by a combination of gripping and pushing or pulling the pushing and pulling means forward or backwards while walking or running forward or backwards.

  • Patent number: 8161779
Abstract: A lock for a sliding door (14), with a lock case (24) for receiving a lock cylinder (30), the lock cylinder (30) being arranged in a recess (36) of the lock case (24) such that, in order to lock the lock (22), a bolt (28) of the lock case (24) is brought into engagement with a striking plate (26) of the lock (22) by a rotationally actuable driver (32) of the lock cylinder (30). The lock (22) has at least one support part (38, 40) which is arranged laterally on the lock case (24) in the region of the recess (36) to support the lock cylinder (30). A further characteristic relates to the securing of the lock against removal and for this purpose, the or each support part (38, 40) is fastened to the lock case (24) by retaining pins (60), a lock cylinder screw (58) for fastening the lock cylinder (30) to the lock case (24) being in engagement with the or each retaining pin (60) to prevent removal of the support parts (38, 40) and of the retaining pins (60).

  • Patent number: 8166198
Abstract: The delivery of web content over an IP based network is accelerated by utilizing an intermediate node to receive requests for ML files, analyze ML files and create multipart objects that compound two or more browser's objects referenced by browser's links in the original ML file. The ML file is modified by replacing browser's links with multipart URLs that represent the multipart objects. When a subsequent user requests the page, the modified ML page is sent to the user and the multipart objects are more quickly and efficiently loaded into the user's browser.

  • Patent number: 8156429
Abstract: Web content based on markup language technology is delivered to a client device running a browser or similar application through a markup language file manipulator. Files requested by a client device are processed through the markup language file manipulator and the browser links embedded in the web content are traversed to fetch the objects associated with the browser links. The browser links are then replaced by the actual objects in the markup language file. The modified markup language file is then delivered to the client device and the client device is not required to further render the web content.

  • Patent number: 8147164
Abstract: A line system (24) for a road miller, which rotates along with the milling roller (11) and which supplies water directly to the nozzles (23) which are arranged on the lateral surface (18) of the milling roller (11), to be arranged in the milling roller (11). Owing to the line system (24), the milling roller (11) no longer needs to be filled with water. The nozzles (23) are instead supplied with water directly from the line system (24) in order to spray the milling region selectively.

  • Patent number: 8142129
Abstract: Items of laundry have to be stretched out by a spreading device (14) before they are inserted into a mangle or any other laundry treatment device. To this end, the spreading device (14) has spreading clips (15) which can be moved away from one another. In the case of relatively large items of laundry, the spreading clips (15) have to cover a relatively large distance in order to spread out the item of laundry. This reduces the insertion rate. The invention provides for the items of laundry to be preliminarily spread out before being passed to the spreading clips (15), so that the spreading clips (15) receive the item of laundry in a state in which it is already virtually spread out. The spreading clips (15) only have to cover a small residual distance in order to spread out the item of laundry completely. As a result, the spreading device (14) can spread out the item of laundry very quickly.

  • Patent number: 8145495
Abstract: An integrated voice navigation system 40 is disclosed. The voice navigation system (40) includes a voice messaging system (44), a speech recognition system (46), a voice channel (50) and a control link (52). A caller is connected to the voice messaging system (44) via PSTN (42). The voice messaging system (44) is in turn connected to the speech recognition system (46). Specifically, the voice messaging system (44) and speech recognition system (46) are connected via both the voice channel (50) and the control link (52). The voice channel (50) provides an audio communications pathway between the caller and the speech recognition system (46), while the control link (52) provides an out-of-band communications pathway between the voice messaging system (44) and the speech recognition system (46).
