Abstract: A transmission signal to be transmitted from a radio transmitter is predistorted in order to compensate for the signal distortion caused by a power amplifier. The transmission signal and a signal modeling a power supply voltage applied to the power amplifier are compared with distortion properties of the power amplifier using these signals. The distortion information is comprised in an amplitude distortion lookup table and a phase distortion lookup table. Transmission signal and power supply signal values are associated with envelope and phase predistortion information comprised in the respective lookup tables and the envelope and the phase of the transmission signal is predistorted accordingly.

Abstract: The present invention relates to selection of sites of a communication system for measurement units that are for measuring a feature of wireless signals so that the location of a wireless station may be determined based on the measurement. Each measurement unit provides a measurement coverage. In the method a first set of information is defined, said first set relating to sites that are possible locations for the location measurement units and to the coverage provided by the site if it is provided with a measurement unit. A second set of information is defined that relates to signalling environment within the sites. Based on the defined first and second sets of information, a third set of information is defined, said third set associating each site with access entities of the communication system. Based on the third set of information, appropriate sites can be selected for the location measurement units.

Abstract: A throttle valve control system for an internal combustion engine which controls an opening of a throttle valve of the engine so that the opening coincides with a target opening. A regulation value of a change amount of the throttle valve opening is set according to at least a temperature parameter indicative of a temperature of the engine. The target opening is set within a range defined by the regulation value. An upper limit value and a lower limit value of the regulation value is set according to the temperature parameter, and a transition control is performed wherein the regulation value is set according to an elapsed time period after start of the engine so as to change from the lower limit value to the upper limit value.
Abstract: A harmonic gear drive includes: a rigid spline; a flexspline including an attachment portion, teeth, and a thin-walled flexible portion provided between the attachment portion and the teeth; and a member attached to the thin-walled flexible portion. The member is made of a material whose elastic modulus is lower than that of the flexspline.
Abstract: The invention relates to measuring devices used in the measuring of acceleration and, more specifically, to capacitive acceleration sensors. The capacitive acceleration sensor according to the present invention contains a movable electrode (5) supported at an axis of rotation (7). The capacitance change in the pair of electrodes of the acceleration sensor, according to the present invention, is enhanced. The acceleration sensor structure, according to the present invention, enables improving the capacitance sensitivity of the pair of electrodes based on rotational motion and measuring acceleration with good performance in capacitive acceleration sensor designs.
Abstract: An oscillator signal stabilization method is provided for a radio transceiver, for example. In the present stabilization method, amplitude variation of a radio frequency oscillator signal generated by a frequency-adjustable oscillator signal generator is stabilized in an adaptive compensation circuit having adjustable compensation parameters. The stabilized oscillator signal is fed from the compensation circuit to one or more frequency dividers for frequency division. The compensation circuit is configured to stabilize signal variations caused by component non-idealities and, thereby, prevent undesired frequency division errors in the frequency dividers.
Abstract: To automate the work of recognizing a guest, check the appointment, notify a host of the arrival of the guest and conduct the guest to a designated place, a robot having a function to autonomously travel is equipped with camera/microphone for recognizing a guest at least according to image information. The system comprises management database adapted to communicate with the robot and equipped with an information database for identifying the recognized guest, and identifies the guest according to the information obtained from the camera/microphone and management database. The robot recognizes the guest from the image thereof, and the recognized guest is identified and verified by comparing the image of the visitor with the information contained in the database so that the robot can automatically conduct the guest to the designated meeting room according to the information of the appointment stored in the database.
Abstract: Provided herein are a coating or a device (e.g., absorbable stent) that includes a PEGylated hyaluronic acid and a PEGylated non-hyaluronic acid biocompatible polymer and the methods of use thereof.
Abstract: An intravascular stent has a coat comprising a crosslinked amphiphilic polymer and a sparingly water soluble matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor (MMPI). Preferably the polymer is formed from 2-methacryloyloxy-2?-ethyltrimethylammonium phosphate inner salt, C4-18 alkyl methacrylate and reactive and/or crosslinking monomer and the MMPI is a hydroxamic acid, more preferably batimastat. Preclinical and clinical results are reported, showing good luminal areas and reduced intimal thickening.

Abstract: Biocompatible terpolymers are manufactured to include a zwitterionic monomer, an alkoxy acrylate monomer, and a hydrophobic monomer. The alkoxy acrylate monomer can be a 2-methoxyethyl methacrylate (MOEMA) or a 2-methoxyethyl methacrylate (EOEMA). Alternatively, the alkoxy acrylate can be 2-methoxyethyl acrylate (MOEA) or 2-methoxyethyl acrylate (EOEA). The alkoxy acrylate monomers advantageously give the zwitterionic copolymers greater ductility, strength, and toughness while maintaining a desired amount of hydrophilicity. The improved toughness allows the zwitterionic copolymers to be processed without cross-linking, which improves the elongation properties of the zwitterionic copolymer, and reduces the risk of cracking during use.
Abstract: A developer can express the logic offered by a Web service, or other network accessible service, using a standard programming language augmented with declarative annotations specifying preferences for exposing that logic as a Web service. At compile time, an enhanced compiler can analyze the annotated source file and automatically generate the mechanisms required to expose its functionality as a Web service or network accessible service.

Abstract: A client computer has a master window and at least one slave window. The client computer receives streaming data at the master window. The master window includes a list of slave windows and the data includes an envelope that has a destination window identifier. The master window determines a destination window that corresponds to the window identifier. The master window dispatches the data to a slave window if the destination window is not the master window. Otherwise, the master window streams the data to the destination within the master window.
