Patent number: 4236085Abstract: A method for producing trigger pulses in relation to a preset phase of motion proceeding with a continuously variable period, whereby pulses are accumulated, and at the same time two time intervals are successively determined within the fundamental time interval as the phase of the motion is changed by a preset value. The durations of these two time intervals and the sign of the difference between them are used to correct the number of stored pulses which are counted until a preset number is reached, which moment marks the onset of a trigger pulse. The device for effecting this method comprises a unit for determining the difference between time intervals and correcting the fundamental time interval, which is connected to a control unit, a main pulse counter and a main controlled frequency divider connected, in turn, to a pulse generator. The control unit is connected to a control pulse unit and an initial adjustment unit.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 1978Date of Patent: November 25, 1980Inventors: Viktor B. An, Ivan D. Patent number: 4229776Abstract: A capsule for use in aneroid pressure gauges comprising a pair of membranes sealed to each other along peripherally extending side edge regions to define a sealed, interior space therebetween. One of the membranes is formed having a centrally located charge retaining region. A capacitor plate is fixed to the other membrane and is disposed within the sealed interior space in opposed relationship to the charge retaining region. The means by which the capacitor plate is fastened to its respective membrane is electrically conductive and extends through the membrane while being electrically insulated therefrom. Changes in pressure are measured by measuring the changes in the capacitance between the capacitor plate and charge retaining region, the latter changes being effected by the changes in the distance between the membranes resulting from pressure fluctuations. The aneroid capsule is particularly suited for use in connection with an aneroid pressure gauge utilized in radiosondes.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1978Date of Patent: October 21, 1980Assignee: Vaisala OyInventors: Veijo Antikainen, Osmo Reittu

Patent number: 4224104Abstract: A paper machine has a forming wire loop which transports a web to a detachment transfer roll situated inside said wire loop at a detaching location where the web is to be detached from the wire and transported to a press section. A relatively dry felt engages the web on a sector of the detachment transfer roll at the detaching location and receives the web from the wire and continues to transport the web, while it adheres to the felt, to the press section. The detachment of the web from the wire on the detachment transfer roll is facilitated by the centrifugal force acting on the web which results from the substantial change of direction undergone by the web on the detachment transfer roll. In one embodiment, the press felt is directed to cover the web on a sector of the detachment roll by a press suction roll located on substantially the same level as the detachment transfer roll, the press roll having a suction sector which facilitates transfer of the web from the wire to the felt.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1978Date of Patent: September 23, 1980Assignee: Valmet OyInventor: Matti Kankaanpaa
