Abstract: Collecting user preference information related to a playing media recording is accomplished by gathering descriptive information related to the playing media recording from a media player program presenting the playing media recording and determining if tags are embedded in the media recording and gathering descriptive information related to the playing media recording from the tags embedded in the playing media recording, if the tags exist. Further, determining if a table of contents exists on the media recording and gathering a table of contents for a collection containing the playing media recording by identifying the collection using a concatenation of track lengths identifier generation technique, the table of contents exists. Then assembling the descriptive information into a media recording information packet and sending the media recording information packet to a server computer, resulting in a collection of user preference information related to the playing media recording.

Abstract: A magnetic head slider locking apparatus includes a fixed portion having a distal-side engage portion engaged with a slider's distal end and fixed to a flexure part, an endless spring portion surrounding the fixed portion in a plan view, a connection portion connecting the fixed portion to the spring portion, and a proximal-side engage portion provided to the spring portion so as to be engaged with a slider's proximal end. The spring portion takes an initial posture where no external operational force is applied thereto so that the proximal-side engage portion is located closer to a distal end side in the suspension longitudinal direction than the slider's proximal end, and also takes an elastically deformed posture where an external operational force is applied thereto so that the proximal-side engage portion is located closer to a proximal end side in the suspension longitudinal direction than the slider's proximal end.
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed that is capable of transmitting video signals and/or audio signals using the HDMI interface standard or the DisplayPort interface standard. A dual mode transmitter is disclosed that is configurable to transmit to a first sink device, configured in accordance with a HDMI display interface, in a HDMI mode of operation and/or a second sink device, configured in accordance with a DisplayPort display interface, in a DisplayPort mode of operation. The dual mode transmitter is configured to receive a biasing current from the first sink device in the HDMI mode of operation or to internally provide the biasing current in DisplayPort mode of operation by selecting impedances from selectable impedance networks. The dual mode transmitter is configured to transmit the video signals and/or audio signals by biasing one or more transistors using the biasing current.
Abstract: Method, system, and computer readable medium for detecting the collect phone number format to use based on the user current country and an original country associated with a number to be dialed. This information can be used to allow a user to keep phone numbers in his/her contact list in any common format on his/her country of origin and still allow numbers to be dialed correctly when the user is travelling anywhere in the world.
Abstract: Embodiments allow a smaller, simpler hardware implementation of an input/output memory management unit (IOMMU) having improved translation behavior that is independent of page table structures and formats. Embodiments also provide device-independent structures and methods of implementation, allowing greater generality of software (fewer specific software versions, in turn reducing development costs).

Abstract: Burst mode clock and data recovery (BCDR) circuit and method capable of fast data recovery of passive optical network (PON) traffic. An over-sampled data stream is generated from an input burst data signal and a phase interpolator generates sampling clock signals using a reference clock and phase information. A phase estimation unit (PEU) determines a phase error in the over-sampled data streams; and a phase retrieval unit sets the phase interpolator with the respective phase information of the input burst data signal prior to reception of the input burst data signal.

Abstract: Crystal oscillator control and calibration is disclosed. Temperature and frequency control circuits included on a printed circuit board (PCB) comprising a crystal oscillator are used to determine, for each of a plurality of set points in a range of sensed internal temperatures sensed by an internal temperature sensing circuit or device located adjacent to the oscillator in a thermally insulated region of the PCB, a corresponding compensation required to be applied to maintain a desired oscillator output frequency. The PCB is configured to use at least the determined compensation values and a sensed internal temperature to determine during operation of the PCB a compensation, if any, to be applied to maintain the desired oscillator output frequency.

The system may also include a boot loader. A method for providing an operating system over a network to a local device is also provided. The method includes receiving a request for an operating system. The method further includes transmitting to a local device remotely stored base and preferences images that are configured for combination into a combined image. Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for transmitter linearization are provided. A signal may be amplified via one or more circuits comprising a first transistor having a first bias voltage applied to its gate via a resistor, and a second transistor having its source coupled to a first terminal of the resistor, its drain coupled to a second terminal of the resistor, and its gate coupled to a second bias voltage. The signal may be AC-coupled, via one or more capacitors, for example, to the gate of the first transistor. The first bias voltage and the second bias voltage may be such that the first transistor operates in the active region the second transistor operates in the subthreshold region. The effective channel width of the second transistor may be configurable during operation of the one or more circuits.
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products of DNA sequence alignment using a symmetric phase only matched filter (SPOMF) are described herein. SPOMF is useful for both global alignment and local alignment. Also described herein is a prime-length cross correlation algorithm for enhancing the robustness of the SPOMF.
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for intercepting an e-mail from a backend system and converting the e-mail into a message which can be used by a mobile device to graphically represent a business process. The mobile device can interact with the graphic representation, or invoke a business method from a local graphic representation, in order to send a response message to the backend system for further communications.
Abstract: A method and system for programmable breakpoints in an integrated embedded image and video accelerator are described. Aspects of the system may include circuitry that enables generation of control signals for pipeline processing of video data within a single chip by at least selecting a target location of the video data and generating an interrupt at a time instant corresponding to the pipeline processing of the target location. The system may enable programmable breakpoints to be set and/or triggered based on policies determined in executable software. The ability to set programmable breakpoints may enable flexible utilization of system memory resources.
Abstract: A configurable fluid transfer system for inflatable footwear includes a manifold. The manifold is part of an inflation system having an underfoot pump connected to one of the plurality of openings in the heel side of the manifold, an inflatable forefoot bladder connected to two of the plurality of openings in the bottom surface of the manifold and an inflatable heel bladder connected to one of the plurality of openings in the bottom surface of the manifold. fluid flows from the underfoot pump to the inflatable forefoot bladder through a one-way valve and into a first channel in the manifold connected to a forefoot bladder. Abstract: Aspects of a system for subspace beamforming for near capacity MIMO performance may include a MIMO transmitter that computes one or more rotation angle values (?f) based on a channel estimate matrix (H). In instances when each rotation angle is computed based on a Euclidean distance criterion, each value ?f may also be computed based on a computed Euclidean distance. Alternatively, in instances when each rotation angle is computed based on a bit error rate (BER) criterion, each value ?f may also be computed based on a signal noise power level (N0). A plurality of spatial stream signals (xi) may be generated utilizing one or more constellation types. The constellation map for each constellation type may be rotated based on a corresponding value ?f. A plurality of transmit chain signals (txi) may be generated based on the signals xi and transmitted via a communication medium characterized by matrix H.
