  • Patent number: 8194083
Abstract: A plurality of vertex or fragment processors on a graphics processor perform computations. Each vertex or fragment processor is capable of executing a separate program to compute a specific result. A combiner manages the combination of the results from the respective processors, and produces a final transformed vertex or pixel value. The vertex or fragment processors and the combiner can be programmable to modify their operations. As such, the vertex or fragment processors can operate in a parallel or serial configuration, or both. The combiner manages and resolves the operations of the serial and/or parallel configurations. A synchronization barrier enables the combiner to perform data-dependency analysis to determine the timing and ordering of the respective processors' execution. A transformation module can include one or more programmable vertex processors that transforms three-dimensional geometric data into fragments.

  • Patent number: 8190185
Abstract: Methods and systems for signal processing are disclosed herein and may include storing bit sequences for a plurality of previously received control channels. A bit sequence for a currently received control channel may be correlated with at least one of the bit sequences for the plurality of previously received control channels. One of the bit sequences for the plurality of previously received control channels may be selected to represent the bit sequence for the currently received control channel, based on the correlating. The selected one of the stored bit sequences for the plurality of previously received control channels may include a maximum correlation. The maximum correlation may be higher than a threshold value. The bit sequence for the currently received control channel may include slow associated control channel information. The bit sequence for the currently received control channel may be decoded using Viterbi decoder and/or fire code decoder.

  • Patent number: 8189785
Abstract: Substantially identical numerical sequences known only to stations A and B are generated in a manner not subject to duplication by an eavesdropper and not subject to cryptanalytic attack because they are not derived using a mathematical function (such, as for example, factoring). The sequences are independently derived utilizing a physical phenomena that can only be “measured” precisely the same at stations A and B. Signals are simultaneously transmitted from each station toward the other through a communication channel having a characteristic physical property capable of modifying the signals in a non-deterministic way, such as causing a phase shift. Each signal is “reflected” by the opposite station back toward its station of origin. The effect of the communication channel is “measured” by comparing original and reflected signals. Measured differences are quantized and expressed as numbers.

  • Patent number: 8189541
Abstract: A mobile device coupled to a common system clock receives a signal comprising a primary synchronization sequence (PSS) and a secondary synchronization sequence (SSS) in a radio frame. Sample counts are generated for timed events based on corresponding operating bandwidths. The timed events are detected at modulo sample counts of the generated sample counts according to corresponding operating bandwidths. PSS symbol timing determined via the PSS synchronization is aligned to the generated sample counts based on corresponding operating bandwidth. The generated sample counts are bit-shifted relative to the aligned PSS symbol timing for other timed events based on corresponding operating bandwidths. The one or more timed events are determined via performing modulo counting after the bit-shifting. Timing operations are performed at the determined timed events and the determined one or more timed events are refined, accordingly.

  • Patent number: 8190353
Abstract: A computer based method, system and computer program product to assign a quality metric to an airspace design and optionally to compare it against design metrics, to determine a comparative quality metric. Factors contributing to quality of the airspace sector design are identified via user input and quantified to calculate a quality metric for the airspace sector design as a function of the quantified factors. Categories for each of the identified factors, and parameters for each of the identified categories are also identified via user input. Each parameter has an associated weight and a range of thresholds with associated multipliers. An associated multiplier from the range of thresholds for each identified parameter is also identified. The identified multiplier is multiplied with the associated weight for each identified parameter. The products for each identified parameter are then summed to obtain a quality metric.

  • Patent number: 8189592
Abstract: A telephony system and method is provided that reduces delay and provides better utilization of upstream bandwidth in delivering packet telephony services to a plurality of subscriber lines via a cable modem system. An exemplary system includes a plurality of voice processing modules, a host processor, and a buffer. Each voice processing module receives digital voice signals from a separate set of subscriber lines, compresses the digital voice signals to generate a voice packet, and transfers the voice packet to the buffer. The host processor then assembles a packet by concatenating the voice packets and transmits the assembled packet for delivery over a data network. Because the plurality of voice processing modules process the voice packets in parallel, delay is reduced in the assembly and transmission of the assembled packet.
