Abstract: A liquid supply unit is detachably installable in a liquid consuming apparatus. The liquid supply unit includes a receptacle containing a liquid; a memory device having a first memory area for storing first liquid information for use in identifying a remaining amount of the liquid contained in the receptacle; a sensor that is used to detect whether the remaining amount of the liquid contained in the receptacle is equal to or less than a prescribed value; and a memory control section that carries out write-prohibition control whereby writing to the first memory area in the memory device is prohibited in response to a write lock command from the liquid consuming apparatus.
Abstract: A system for conducting a computer-based, simultaneous, multiple round, descending clock auction for basic generation services includes a web server for receiving bid data for one or more users for basic generation service products, an application server host application software, which processes the one or more bids according to at least one auction rule, tracks the auction, monitors the auction, and/or determines when to end the auction, and a database server, which stores auction data. A method of conducting a computer-based, simultaneous, multiple round, descending clock auction for basic generation services includes the repeating steps of receiving bids indicating desired tranche units of basic generation service products, calculating next round prices for each product, and sending round results to bidders.

Abstract: A second sealing film F2 is thermally bonded onto a leading end portion R1 of an ink lead-out member 32b of an ink pack and an annular projecting portion R2 provided on an ink casing 31. Thereby, a gap D produced between the ink lead-out member 32b and the ink casing 31 can be closed from outside the ink casing 31. Accordingly, the airtightness of a space S in the ink casing 31 is kept, thus making it possible to raise the pressure in the space S and generate such a force as to crush the ink pack.
Abstract: A method of encoding a piece of information circulating in a network comprising at least one information transmitting node and one recipient node, using a public key encryption system, characterized in that it comprises at least the following steps: generating a public key by using a public key generation matrix NG consisting of u columns and u rows, an element of a column or of a row being a block formed by the code generation matrix G, and by use of a public key given by the matrix PUK=RI (matrix multiplication by block) NG (matrix multiplication) RP. The private key and the public key obtained are used to encode and decode the information transmitted in the network.
Abstract: A test structure for precise characterization of an MOS stack has two semiconductor devices DT1 and DT2 comprising MOS transistors. The dimensions (length Li, width Wi) of the transistors of the first device Ti and the dimensions (length L?i, width W?i) of the transistors T?i of the second device are selected so that the sum of the lengths of the transistors on the one hand, and the sum of the widths of the transistors on the other hand, are respectively equal in the two devices, and so that the surface area difference Sequiv between the two devices is nonzero. An associated measurement method is used to calculate the curve of the difference capacitance between the two devices as a function of the voltage by means of a capacimeter. By placing each of the devices as the load of a suitably controlled CMOS inverter, this curve can be recorded by a dynamic measurement method based on measuring the current in each inverter.
Abstract: An ink supplying and collecting apparatus includes a case, ink cartridges detachably attached to the case, and a collecting container detachably attached to the case. The ink cartridges supply ink to a recording head of a printer via ink supply tubes. The collecting container collects ink drained from the recording head via an ink drain tube. The case is located outside of and is separate from the printer. Thus, the sizes and shapes of the ink cartridges and the collecting container can be freely designed.
Abstract: The invention relates to a wireless transmitting and receiving module including a radiofrequency module filtering and amplifying the wireless signals received, a high intermediate frequency module transposing the wireless signals received to a high intermediate frequency, the transpositions being carried out by mixing of the wireless signals with signals of known frequency generated by local oscillator modules, and a low intermediate frequency module transposing the wireless signals received to a low intermediate frequency. In particular, the invention applies to the radiocommunication software modules that can receive and/or transmit on the broad band, that is to say in a frequency range from 30 MHz to 3 GHz.

Abstract: Method and system for locating one or more transmitters in the potential presence of obstacles in a network comprising a first receiving station A and a second receiving station B that is asynchronous with A. The method includes the identification of a reference transmitter through an estimation of its direction of arrival AOA-TDOA pair (?ref, ??ref) on the basis of the knowledge of the positions of the reference transmitter and of stations A and B, an estimation of the direction of arrival of the transmitter or transmitters and of the reflectors (or estimation of the AOA) on station A, and the correction of the errors of asynchronism between station A and station B by using the reference transmitter and the location of the various transmitters on the basis of each pair (AOAi, TDOAi).

Abstract: A liquid container adapted for installation in a liquid jetting device includes an installation status notifier portion. The installation status notifier portion, in an installed state wherein the liquid container is installed in the liquid jetting device, is able to make the liquid jetting device determine that there exists the installed state, and alternatively to make the liquid jetting device determine, even in the installed state, that there exists a non-installed state wherein the liquid container is not installed in the liquid jetting device.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a splice restraint for use with sleeves that attach to joints. The splice restraint includes a first securing member constructed and arranged to be received in a groove of a first sleeve that is installable on a first leg of a joint, a second securing member constructed and arranged to be received in a groove of a second sleeve that is installable on a second leg of the joint, and a strap connecting the first securing member to the second securing member. The strap having a length determined by the distance between the groove on the first sleeve and the groove on the second sleeve when the first and second sleeves are properly installed on the joint. The splice restraint provides a visual indication that the sleeves are properly installed on the joint, as well ensures that sleeves will not be displaced after the lineman leaves the site.

Abstract: The invention relates to the general field of the detection, notably the radar detection, of mobile or fixed targets. It consists of a method making it possible mainly to qualify the blips supplied by the processing subsystem of the detection system before the latter are analyzed to generate tracks, each track being assumed to represent the trajectory of a moving object that has been detected. According to the invention, an analysis duration is considered, and all of the blips detected during this period are considered. These blips are divided up into subsets, each subset corresponding to the blips that, during the analysis duration, have been detected in one and the same analysis channel defined by an initial position and a speed vector. The subsets formed in this way are then grouped together, one and the same group combining the subsets comprising blips for which the combined assertion of a plurality of attributes is verified.

Abstract: A multicolor-use ink cartridge has obverse surface-side ink chambers and formed on an obverse surface side of a horizontal plate portion of a rigid plastic plate and reverse surface-side ink chambers and formed on a reverse surface side thereof. Since these ink chambers are arranged in a breadthwise direction so as to be staggered in a mutually overlapping state with the horizontal plate portion interposed therebetween, it is possible to make small the dimension in a direction in which the ink chambers are arranged. The respective ink chambers are formed by joining flat portions of three-dimensionally molded flexible plastic films to obverse surface-side recesses formed on the obverse surface of the horizontal plate portion and reverse surface-side recesses formed on the reverse surface thereof, respectively. Therefore, it is possible to form ink chambers having high sealability.
Abstract: Methods and systems for locking an application are described. A method includes receiving, over a communication network from a remote applicant, a signature for an application. The signature includes a date and time, an indication of agreement to the terms of the application, and verification information personal to the applicant and capable of confirming the applicant's identity. Based on the application and signature an internal checksum can be generated. The internal checksum is sent to a third party for generation of a second, external checksum. The external checksum is based on the internal checksum and the date and time the external checksum was generated. The internal and external checksums are associated with the application and then stored along with the application and signature.
