  • Patent number: 6427165
Abstract: A method and apparatus for selectively obtaining information over a network with an information handling system coupled to the network are disclosed. The network is searched for the information based upon a predetermined criterion, and the information is located on a node of the network where the information is stored. A parameter value of the node where the information is stored is determined, and the determined parameter value is displayed in conjunction with a link to the node whereby a determination may be made whether to obtain the information from the node based upon the determined parameter value. The search results may be ordered and selected according to one or more of determined parameter values of the nodes where the information is stored.

  • Patent number: 6401983
Abstract: A bulk cargo container is disclosed for storing, transporting or processing solid or liquid bulk materials. The bulk cargo container includes a vessel suitable for containing the bulk material and a supporting frame assembly having a generally horizontally disposed support member attachment. In an exemplary embodiment, the vessel is formed of fiber reinforced plastic material and includes a container portion and a support member. The container portion is formed into at least one hopper having a discharge opening therein suitable for discharging bulk material contained within the vessel. The vessel is supported from the support member attachment via the support member so that the weight of the bulk material is carried in tension by the fiber reinforced plastic material of the vessels shell.

  • Patent number: 6397729
Abstract: An apparatus is described for capturing a bearing assembly in a device such as a high pressure pump or the like so that undesired pre-load within the bearing assembly is substantially reduced or eliminated. The apparatus is comprised of a fastener for capturing the bearing assembly by securing the bearing assembly to the shaft of the pump's eccentric assembly. A collet is disposed in the bearing assembly around the fastener. The fastener includes a tapered section for at least partially expanding the collet so that the collet engages the bearing assembly capturing the bearing assembly and controlling the amount of pre-load placed thereon.

  • Patent number: 6396699
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a heat sink to a chip package such as a BGA type chip package or the like is disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, ground bumps are formed on the die substrate of the chip package and on the heat mating surface of the heat sink to be attached to the package. The ground bumps formed on the die protrude into the body of dimples formed in the body of the chip encapsulation package to make thermal/electrical ground contact with the ground bumps formed on the heat mating surface of the heat sink for electrically grounding the heat sink.

  • Patent number: 6390213
Abstract: A maneuverable self-propelled cart having a drive assembly including independently suspended drive wheels for propelling the cart over rough or uneven surfaces. The drive assembly is comprised of a drive wheel carriage having at least two drive wheels. The drive wheel carriage may include a turntable or the like adapted to rotate the carriage about a substantially vertical axis relative to the frame of the cart. Each drive wheel may be independently suspended beneath the cart frame by a suspension apparatus so as to allow each drive wheel to individually engage a ground or floor surface.

  • Patent number: 6392489
Abstract: A high precision current control circuit (current mirror) is disclosed. As in prior current mirrors, a reference voltage is generated from the input reference current. An operational amplifier is placed between the reference diode and the bases of the controlled transistors to provide precise reproduction of the reference voltage with ample current to drive many controlled current sources or current sources with high multiplication ratios from the reference current. As compared to prior emitter follower drivers, a lower voltage threshold of operation from an external proportional control results. Lower power supply voltage is supported, since one diode drop is removed from the reference current path.
