Abstract: A passive lock assembly is suitable for use with a door mounted to a door frame. The passive lock assembly includes a housing, a bolt, an actuator, and a stop member. The housing is mounted on the door. The bolt extends from the housing and is moveable between an extended position and a retracted position. The actuator is supported by the housing and is operably connected to the bolt. Additionally, the actuator is moveable to move the bolt between the extended position and the retracted position. The stop member is pivotably connected to the housing and pivotable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the stop member engages an engagement surface of the actuator to obstruct movement of the actuator and prevent movement of the bolt to the retracted position, and in the second position, the stop member does not obstruct movement of the actuator.

Abstract: Improvement in the reliability of segmentation of a signal, such as an ECG signal, is achieved through the use of duration constraints. The signal is analysed using a hidden Markov model. The duration constraints specify minimum allowed durations for specific states of the model. The duration constraints can be incorporated either in the model itself or in a Viterbi algorithm used to compute the most probable state sequence given a conventional model. The derivation of a confidence measure from the model can be used to assess the quality and robustness of the segmentation and to identify any signals for which the segmentation is unreliable, for example due to the presence of noise or abnormality in the signal.

Abstract: Tap mounting assemblies for reducing loads on the threaded end portions of a tap. Some exemplary embodiments employ a spring such as Belleville washers to bias apart the tap and a mounting plate, and some embodiments provide visual indication of proper tightening. Some exemplary embodiments allow angular adjustment of a portion of the tap assembly without disturbing the tapered thread engagement of the tap on the mounting surface. Exemplary embodiments may employ a base plate between a jack screw and a mounting surface.

Abstract: A radio/telephony interoperability architecture that facilitates intercommunications between a security services network, elected officials and/or emergency services network and a telephony management system for one-way and two-way security and/or emergency teleconferencing communications. The telephony system creates a session in which one or more session participants can communicate with front-line mobile radio operators (e.g., first responder personnel) and radio band components. Mobile radio systems can be accessed via circuit-switched and packet-switched networks with communications capable of existing between horizontal services entities (e.g., city fire and police) and vertical entities (e.g., city, state, and federal agencies and personnel). Furthermore, the presence of participants and potential participants is provided to authorized users to facilitate the establishment of such conferences. Notifications and alarms are used to alert participants and potential participants of important events.

Abstract: A method of detecting human presence includes using a radar sensor to monitor a space, and receiving an output signal from the radar sensor. A Fourier transform is performed on the output signal to produce a signal spectrum. It is decided whether the output signal is indicative of human activity dependent upon at least one acoustic feature of the signal spectrum and at least one spectral feature of the signal spectrum.

Abstract: A semiconductor device and a layout method thereof are provided, each of which contributes to a reduction in layout area and appropriately adjusts an inter-wiring capacitance even where wiring widths and intervals in a plurality of wiring layers differ at a bus wiring comprised of the wiring layers. In the semiconductor device, a first functional block and a second functional block are connected to each other, and a plurality of wirings formed over their corresponding wiring layers are provided. The wiring layers have constant wiring widths and wiring intervals for every wiring layer. The number of wirings on each wiring layer is determined, at least in part, by multiplying (a) the total number of required wirings (for all wiring layers) by (b) a ratio of (i) a rate of wirings per unit length on the given layer versus (ii) the sum of the rates of wirings per unit length for each of the plurality of wiring layers.

An outputs software module operable to allow a user to record a plurality of bodily output values for the patient over the predetermined time period. Abstract: The present invention provides a medical support pillow and method for supporting a patient in the lateral position while maintaining an open airway. The lateral airway support pillow includes a chest support, a shoulder recess, a head support and a posterior bolster. The orientation of these components support the patient in the lateral position, with the spine and airway in a straight position, thus eliminating possible airway obstruction. One embodiment of the invention contains a head support with a posterior recess and a neck support which provides for straightening of the neck and airway and aligning the oral, pharyngeal, and laryngeal axes of the airway. Other embodiments position and elevate the patient in such a manner to treat or prevent soft tissue pressure injury, gastroesophageal reflux, congestive heart failure, or sleep apnea.

Abstract: A memory control circuit includes a clock generation circuit that generates a clock signal and provides the clock signal to an external memory device, and at least one retention circuit that retains a data signal provided from the external memory device only under a significant state of a data strobe signal, which is provided together with the data signal. The memory control circuit controls data acquisition from the retention circuit in accordance with the clock signal. A data acquisition timing judgment unit, by monitoring the clock signal, judges whether or not a timing of the data acquisition has arrived. A data strobe signal correction unit maintains the significant state of the data strobe signal until it is judged that the data acquisition timing has arrived.

Abstract: A clamp for an oil well line is disclosed, the clamp having a casing, typically a pair of wedge members defining a line receiving recess between them and wherein the wedge member are movable within a channel in the casing to move together and grip the line when axial force is applied to the line. The radially outermost faces of the wedge members are typically shaped to match the taper of the channel in the casing, and so are pressed together as they move axially down the tapered channel. One wall of the channel is typically movable to disengage from the wedge member when the gripping force is to be removed. The line-receiving recess can be in the form of an arc or a dog leg, and can be lined with a high friction material or a softer material to minimize damage to the line by the clamping force.
