  • Patent number: 6662492
Abstract: A garden memorial arch floral material holder is installed in a cemetary with two ground penetrating stake assemblies and a flora holding assembly. The flora holding assembly comprises a plurality of rods connected in tandem and the rods have sufficient flexibility to elastically deform from an unstressed straight linear aspect to an arcuate aspect encompassing a semi-circular arch configuration, without permanent deformation. Rods of different length may be connected in different combinations to provide different arch assembly lengths. The rod connections have abutments limiting telescopic overlapping and friction detents to resist disconnection. Each of the two stake assemblies has a horizontal brace portion to be engaged by foot to force a stake portion into a cemetery ground, to engage the ground to limit the penetration, and to provide vertical alignment. The stake assemblies are in spaced apart parallel planes that are perpendicular to the arch assembly to stabilize the holder.

  • Patent number: 6293388
Abstract: Overhead conveying system trolleys supported by canted driven rollers engage on and form spiral loci of engagement with a rotated drive shaft in a powered section, and each has a top wheel used to lift the driven rollers off of the drive shaft as the trolley enters a gravity rail section where the wheel is supported on a rail and where a step feeder releases trolleys one at a time from or along the gravity rail section. A pivoted step feeder arm in a receiving and holding position receives the wheel of the lead trolley, which actuates a release limit switch, to cause the arm to rotate and release the trolley. In this release position, the retention abutment mounted on the accumulation side of the arm, prevents any following trolley from actuating the release limit switch. The arm remains in the release position until a second limit switch is actuated by the released trolley moving away, to cause the arm to rotate to the receiving and holding position to receive the next lead trolley.

  • Patent number: 6267060
Abstract: A factory preassembled drive module is assembled between opposed spaced apart ends of load beams and opposed rotatable shafts supported by the load beams are assembled drivingly to a rotatable drive shaft coupling of the drive unit or module in a job site where the overhead conveyor is installed. The drive unit module includes a motor driving a transmission, in turn driving pulleys that drive belts in turn driving the rotatable portion of the drive shaft coupling. The drive motor and transmission are mounted on a bracket with lost motion permitting tension adjustment of the belts, and the bracket is formed with flanges to respectively abut and overlap correspondingly shaped portions of the adjacent load beams for connection thereto.

  • Patent number: 4465196
Abstract: A bicycle rack for three-point support of a bicycle wheel. A base, mounted on a rigid support, carries two spaced apart pairs of outwardly diverging, inwardly converging tire wedging members. Between them is a gripping assembly that engages and holds in place a bicycle wheel. The outwardly diverging, inwardly converging tire-wedging members may be substantially identical stiff wire members, each continuous and shaped generally like an M. There is a base portion at each end, and from each end which springs a leg curved back at its outer end to an angularly and inwardly extending portion. The two angularly and inwardly extending portions are joined by a central gripping portion.

  • Patent number: 4457704
Abstract: The method and apparatus sucks the entire combustion air volume in laterally with respect to the direction of flow of the air current with the help of the impulse of a fuel gas jet out of the air current into a mixing pipe and the formation of a differential pressure between the mixing pipe input and the waste gas output into the air current is prevented with the help of current guidance sheet metal pieces. The burner is arranged in a shaft-like housing, the fuel gas nozzle and the lower part of mixing pipe are surrounded by a pot-shaped current guidance sheet metal piece. A cylindrical current guidance sheet metal piece adjoins the cooled burner plate. The burner which, for example, can be used in dryers, for heating room air with so-called make-up air units and in gas water heaters, operates completely independently of the air flowing around it in a wide heat load range, without any change in the air coefficient. Because of the super-stoichiometric premixing of the burning gas with the air, the NO.sub.

  • Patent number: 4454908
Abstract: A continuous casting method in which molten metal is continuously poured into a moving mould cavity formed between a rotary casting wheel having a peripheral casting groove and a moving belt partially covering the peripheral casting groove. The cast billet which has been solidified at least outer surfaces thereof is continuously pulled out from the moving mould cavity by means of pinch rollers which are rotated at a peripheral speed greater than that of the rotary casting wheel.

  • Patent number: 4440339
Abstract: A method of repairing the housing of a control rod driving system of a nuclear reactor, the housing being inserted through the wall of a pressure vessel of the reactor into a cylindrical sleeve secured to the inner surface of the vessel, which housing is jointed by welding to the cylindrical sleeve. The method comprises the steps of: cutting the housing in the circumferential direction of the housing at a position defined between the weld joint and the inner surface of the reactor vessel and surrounded by the cylindrical sleeve, thereby to divide the housing into a first housing part still attaching to the weld joint and another removable housing part; removing the removable other housing part; inserting a second housing part into said cylindrical sleeve through the wall of the nuclear reactor vessel; and uniting the first housing part and the second housing part by welding thereby to form a new housing for the control rod driving system.

  • Patent number: 4434836
Abstract: Semiannular mold space is defined by a pair of rotary wheels and an endless belt trained around circumferential surfaces of the wheels. Molten metal is injected into the mold space upwardly so that the molten metal is statically poured into the mold. The circumferential edges of the opposing surfaces of the wheels have inclined surfaces in such a manner that the width of the mold space becomes narrower in a direction toward the axis of the wheels. The molten metal is continuously solidified by the belt and the inclined surfaces and withdrawn horizontally from the mold space as a cast strip which remains unsolidified molten metal within the upper portion of the solid shell.

  • Patent number: 4433432
Abstract: A rotary anode X-ray tube accommodated in a housing together with oil has a journal box fixed and inwardly extending inside the tube, an anode target fixed to a rotor supported by the journal box and a cathode member opposing the anode target and fixed at an end portion inside the tube opposing the journal box. The fixing portion between the rotary anode X-ray tube and the journal box is supported by a resilient support member on the housing and vibration damping means is disposed on the support member. The vibration damping means includes a moving member fixed at its center and a fixed member fixed to the housing so as to encompass the moving member with a predetermined gap, and oil is fully charged in the gap. Vibration of the rotation system is transmitted to the moving member and the operation of this member damps the vibration by means of the squeeze action of the oil.

  • Patent number: 4430574
Abstract: A method for switching the mode of operation of a water wheel or a pump water wheel is disclosed. Water in a runner chamber of the water wheel or the pump water wheel is pushed down below a runner by supplying compressed air to cause a runner to race. When the operation of the water wheel or the pump water wheel is switched from an idling or racing operation of the runner to a generation mode, the characteristics of the water wheel or the pump water wheel and/or a power system are monitored and the monitored characteristics are compared with predetermined values. Based on the compare result, the operation is switched to the generation mode with or without the disconnection of a motor generator coupled to the water wheel or the pump water wheel from the power system.
