    Abstract: An ostomy appliance comprises two pouches, one being located within and extractable from the other. The inner pouch has a stoma-receiving orifice in its bodyside wall and an annular adhesive flange externally secured to that bodyside wall about the orifice. The outer pouch has a substantially larger opening in its bodyside wall and a second annular adhesive flange is secured to that wall and surrounds the first adhesive flange of the inner pouch. The two flanges are spaced from each other and the only connection between the two pouches occurs along their uppermost margins. The inner pouch is provided with a tear line along its upper margin, and the outer pouch has an access flap in its obverse wall which may be torn downwardly for gaining access to and removing the inner pouch from the outer pouch.

    Abstract: In a device used for filling liquids in portions into bottles, cans or similar receptacles and having a plurality of volumetric dosing chambers, which are arranged on a rotor and which are connected to a storage reservoir for the liquid via a controllable inlet valve and to a filler neck via a controllable outlet valve, at least two sensors responding to different filling levels are arranged in each dosing chamber, the sensor arranged on a higher level closing the inlet valve when the filling level has risen to a specific height, and the sensor arranged on a lower level closing the outlet valve when the filling level has dropped to a specific height. The volume of one portion of the liquid to be canned or bottled is thus defined in a simple manner by the vertical distance between the two sensors, or rather the measuring points of said sensors.

The relatively thin peripheral portion of the adhesive layer is preferably embossed to provide a pattern of discrete, non-connecting depressions separated and isolated from each other by flat-top ridges dimensioned and arranged so that a skin surface engaged by said embossed surface primarily contacts only such ridges.

The barbs project inwardly from the flanges in a generally perpendicular direction and have a length of less than about 3/32 of an inch. When the corner bead is applied to a drywall corner, the barbs penetrate substantially only the paper layer of the underlying drywall and secure the corner bead to the corner. The drywall corner bead can be rapidly applied to a corner without requiring additional tools or materials, and the corner bead is securely affixed to the corner by the barbs until the corner is finished with joint compound and paint.
