  • Patent number: 7147418
Abstract: A cage nut assembly has a nut and a cage. The cage has a base having an aperture therethrough and a pair of flexible arm portions which are capable of supporting the nut off of the base. The cage nut assembly is welded to a workpiece. The workpiece is sent through an e-coat or ELPO bath. As the flexible arm portions of the cage support the nut off of the base, the possibility of the nut being stuck to the cage is reduced. A fastener is inserted through an aperture of the workpiece, through the aperture of the base and is threadedly engaged with the nut. As the fastener is torqued down, a force is applied to the nut such that the arm portions of the cage flex and allow the nut to come into contact and be secured against the base.

  • Patent number: 7145232
Abstract: A semiconductor package construction aimed at improving thermal performance. A heatspreader is provided having a metal alloy preform attached to it already. Then, a few dots of conductive epoxy are dispensed around the die. The heatspreader with the preformed metal alloy is pressed on the adhesive and then the part is cured. By coupling the die to the heatspreader with conductive epoxy, the die is constrained from warping. By removing the necessity of coating the die, the cost of fabrication is reduced. There is only a very marginal cost increase in the back end for dispensing the dots. For this, the process and equipment already exists in the backend. By reducing die backside warpage due, the die remains in good contact with the heatspreader, thus improving thermal performance.

  • Patent number: 7141949
Abstract: A low noise electronic three phase bridge controlled brushless DC motor suitable for whiteware appliance pumps and other appliance applications. Back EMF zero crossing sensing is used to determine rotor position and thus stator winding commutation times. Motor torque and speed are controlled by pulse width modulating the operation of that bridge switching device which has just been switched from an OFF state to an ON state on each new commutation. All three stator windings have current flowing in each winding commutation to improve motor current waveform and thereby reduce motor noise, but the current in one winding is always terminated before the end of the commutation period to allow the back EMF in that winding to be sensed to zero crossing.

  • Patent number: 7128426
Abstract: A method of producing an image display device used for an LCD projector by providing a periodic structure of pixels arranged in a matrix and a substrate supporting the pixels, modulating light entering from an entrance surface in pixel units, and emitting the same from an exit surface. A phase shift structure for randomly changing the phase of the light is formed on a surface of the substrate. The phase shift structure has a relief structure formed, for example, by etching the surface of the substrate through which light passes to random depths. Therefore, occurrence of high-order diffracted light caused by the periodic structure of very fine pixels is prevented, and accordingly the amount of 0th order light inherently required is increased.

  • Patent number: 7124553
Abstract: An apparatus for encasing material in continuous roll stock netting is described. The apparatus has a product horn axially aligned with and diametrically opposed to a mandrel over which continuous roll stock netting has been placed. The mandrel is movable into a passageway between two gates and the netting is engaged by a set of claws, after which the mandrel retracts. A set of claws holds the netting open as a ram pushes the material through the product horn into the open netting. The first gate gathers the open end of the netting for closure by a clipper. The second gate gathers the netting and a set of adjustable clamps retracts the netting, pulling the netting tightly over the material. A second clipper clips and severs the gathered netting to enclose the material in the netting.

  • Patent number: 7127698
Abstract: A method of making a reticle. Design data, i.e., GDSII data is read in, then a scribe or frame is built, and the design is placed in the scribe. Then, Boolean operations, sizing, OPC corrections and phase shifting are performed, as needed, perhaps using third party tools. Then, the GDS data is sorted, and a new GDS hierarchy is created where each mask layer can be generated as one mask making pattern, i.e., new cells are created representing each masking image location on the reticle, each new cell is placed in a topcell, then a gds2 file is produced where the gds2 file can be used to create a reticle or can be used to create reticle making data.
