Abstract: A system and method for utilizing a humidity sensor with an internal combustion engine of a vehicle is described. Specifically, information from the humidity sensor is used to adjust a desired air-fuel ratio to reduce engine misfire while improving vehicle fuel economy. Further, such information is also used to adjust timing and/or lift of the valve in the engine cylinder. Finally, diagnostic routines are also described.

Abstract: A multiplayer gaming button for tracking dealer position and betting schedules. The multiplayer gaming button includes a single input configured to set the primary countdown timer without using any other inputs and/or a primary countdown timer configured to be set to a primary time interval and countdown from the primary time interval to zero, wherein the primary countdown timer automatically resets to the primary time interval upon reaching zero. The multiplayer gaming button can be packaged in a standard card box.
Abstract: A method for operating at least an intake and exhaust valve in a cylinder with a piston of an engine in a vehicle, comprising during conditions of an engine shut-down, maintaining at least one of the intake and exhaust valves in a closed position, and during conditions where said at least one valve is in said closed position operating with the other of the intake and exhaust valve open, then closing the other of the intake and exhaust valve, and then opening the other of the intake and exhaust valve to generate braking torque to slow the engine.
Abstract: The electric motor is equipped with an electronic control, for example in the form of a frequency converter (2) and comprises at least one Seebeck element (6) whose one side is connected to the motor (1) in a heat-conducting manner and whose other side is in heat-conducting connection with a cooling medium. The electrical output power of the Seebeck element (6) is led to the electronic control (2) of the motor (1).
Abstract: A boost system for an engine, comprising an engine having at least a cylinder; a fuel injector coupled to said cylinder; a compression device coupled to said engine; a compressed air storage device coupled to said compression device and configured to deliver compressed air to an air flow amplifier device located in the inlet air passageway to said cylinder; and a controller to adjust an amount of fuel injection to account for variation of air delivered to said cylinder from said flow amplifier device.
Abstract: An electrode belt for impedance tomography shall be improved such that it has a simple design and makes possible good contacting of the electrodes (2) with the body of the test subject to be examined. The electrode belt (1) has at least 16 electrodes (2) on an electrode holder or belt material (3), which is elastic at least in some sections. The belt formed of one or more belt material sections completely surrounds a test subject to be examined on the circumference of the body. Electrode feed lines (63) extend along the electrode holder (3). The electrode feed lines and are connected to a feed line (6) at least at one feed point (4) on the electrode holder (3).
Abstract: An explosion-proof gas sensor has a measuring element (2), which generates a measured signal that depends on the concentration of the measured gas and is delimited against the environment by means of a porous, gas-permeable and sintered metal body (7). The sintered metal body (7) has a high mechanical stability, so that the use of additional components, which hinder the diffusion of the gas to be measured into the gas sensor and thus prolong the response time of the gas sensor, can be eliminated.

Abstract: A method for controlling an engine having both an electronically controlled inlet device, such as an electronic throttle unite, and an electronically controlled outlet device, such as a variable cam timing system is disclosed. The method of the present invention achieves cylinder air charge control that is faster than possible by using an inlet device alone. In other words, the method of the present invention controls cylinder air charge faster than manifold dynamics by coordination of the inlet and outlet device. This improved control is used to improve various engine control functions.
