Abstract: A thrust control apparatus for a jet propulsion watercraft is provided. The thrust control apparatus includes a throttle sensor for detecting a fully-closed operation of a throttle of the engine, a steering sensor for detecting steering of a steering device more than a predetermined amount from a neutral position of the steering device and a direction of the steering; a control device configured to control the engine such that the water jet pump generates a different thrust for rightward and leftward steering, in accordance with the steering direction detected by the steering sensor, when the throttle sensor detects the fully-closed operation of the throttle and the steering sensor detects steering of more than the predetermined amount.
Abstract: A method for a vehicle traveling on the road having an engine with adjustable valve operation is described. The method includes performing a valve cleaning operation for reducing deposits on a valve of the engine; and at least during said operation, adjusting valve timing of at least a valve of the engine and a fuel injection amount to increase an amount of fuel pushed back from a cylinder past the valve with deposits and then re-inducted through the valve with deposits.
Abstract: A shifting device for transmitting shift commands to an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle includes a housing (1) and/or a frame and a gearshift lever (2), which is designed such that it is pivotable around a selector axis and a shift axis. The selector axis and the shift axis are preferably arranged at right angles in relation to one another, and the gearshift lever (2) can be shifted at least into a first shift gate and a second shift gate. The first shift gate preferably shifts shifting programs (P, N, R and D) of an automatic transmission and the second shift gate preferably implements manual tapping commands.
Abstract: A steering device of a small watercraft is disclosed. The device includes a steering column oriented substantially in the vertical direction, wherein the steering column includes an upper component and a lower component, the components being coupled together so as to be movable relative to each other in the longitudinal direction thereof, and a fastening device configured to lock the relative movement of the components. One of the components includes an elongated hole which penetrates in the left-and-right direction and is elongated in the vertical direction. The other component includes a protrusion extended in the left-and-right direction so as to be accommodated in the elongated hole and to be guided by the hole in the vertical direction. The components each include a contact surface having a plurality of teeth arranged in the vertical direction, and engage with each other in the front-and-rear direction by engaging the teeth.
Abstract: A composite serial lamp set includes one or more non-electrical connector assembled with a serial lamp set, and the non-electrical connector is formed by tying a plurality of strands into a bundled wire and wrapping the bundles wire with a jacket layer to constitute a string-like sheath wire. There is a twisting of the non-electrical connector with the serial lamp set into a fixed position. The composite serial lamp set in can be of various patterns and shapes such as linear, circular, triangular, rhombus, or square. The composite serial lamp set is solid and durable.
Abstract: A system and method are described for operating a diesel engine and particulate filter during self-sustained filter regeneration. In particular, a method is described for preventing over-temperature during filter regeneration by limiting excess oxygen supplied to the particulate filter.

Abstract: A diesel engine emission control system uses an upstream oxidation catalyst and a downstream SCR catalyst to reduce NOx in a lean exhaust gas environment. The engine and upstream oxidation catalyst are configured to provide approximately a 1:1 ratio of NO to NO2 entering the downstream catalyst. In this way, the downstream catalyst is insensitive to sulfur contamination, and also has improved overall catalyst NOx conversion efficiency. Degradation of the system is determined when the ratio provided is no longer near the desired 1:1 ratio. This condition is detected using measurements of engine operating conditions such as from a NOx sensor located downstream of the catalysts. Finally, control action to adjust an injected amount of reductant in the exhaust gas based on the actual NO to NO2 ratio upstream of the SCR catalyst and downstream of the oxidation catalyst.

Abstract: The present invention provides a protective structure for shipping a projection device. The protective structure includes a carrying case, an impact resistant intermediary case, and a substantially rigid outer case. The carrying case may include a plurality of compartments including a first compartment adapted to receive a projection device and a second compartment adapted to receive an accessory for a projection device. At least one of the compartments may be associated with a unique identifier. The unique identifier also may be associated with a projection device accessory and further may be associated with an attachment point on the projection device.
Abstract: In one example, a system for an engine having an intake system and an exhaust system is described. The system comprises: an airflow sensor coupled to the intake system; an air pump having at least an inlet side and an outlet side, said inlet side having a first coupling to the intake system downstream of said airflow sensor, said outlet side having a second coupling to the exhaust system; and a controller coupled to the engine, said controller, during operation, identifying whether degradation has occurred to at least one of said first and second couplings, and providing an indication of said identified degradation. Abstract: A scanner-equipped apparatus includes a combination of a base unit such as a printer unit, personal computer or word processor incorporating a printer unit and a scanner unit. The printer unit and the scanner unit can operate as automatic sheet feeder type apparatus, respectively. The scanner unit can be used as a handy scanner in the state detached from the base unit. The basic unit and the scanner unit are disposed substantially in upstanding posture in parallel with each other, wherein the scanner unit is removably combined with the base unit so that the scanner unit can be used as the handy scanner. A sheet transporting path for the scanner is formed between confronting surfaces of the base unit and the scanner unit. The sheet feeding mechanism for the scanner unit is so implemented as to be used intact as a driving mechanism for the handy scanner. The scanner-equipped apparatus can be realized inexpensively in a simplified mechanical structure while ensuring enhanced manipulatability.
Abstract: A noise attenuation device for a vehicle exhaust system is provided. The device includes an exhaust pipe having a passageway for receiving exhaust gas pulses from an engine. The device further includes a plurality of vanes extending from an inner surface of the passageway and spaced apart from one another. The vanes are configured to reduce turbulence in the exhaust gas pulses flowing past the vanes to reduce noise at a downstream outlet of the exhaust pipe.
Abstract: A mounting device and process are provided for arranging a protective bellows on a component. The device includes a basic body, a mounting head, which is displaceable at the basic body, an adjusting device for providing an adjusting action and including an electromechanical drive and a position recognition system and gripping elements movable. The gripping elements include gripping arms and clamping fingers movable in relation to the gripping arms. The process includes bringing the gripping arms of the device into contact with the inner surface of a collar of the protective bellows and fixing the collar by the clamping fingers. The collar is expanded in preparation for the mounting and then released by loosening the clamping fingers such that the collar of the protective bellows jumps into a recess provided on the component as a consequence of its intrinsic elasticity after the necessary positioning of the protective bellows in relation to the component to be protected has been established.
