Abstract: Two opposed coaxial discoidal elements (35, 37) are diametrically dilatable and are able to move independently of each other axially and pass axially into the tire (P) when the tire is positioned in the mold, in such a way as to dilate each of said discoidal elements (35, 37), for engaging a corresponding annular bead (P1, P2) of the tire and positioning it exactly against the edge of the respective pan (13, 15).

Abstract: A method is disclosed for controlling operation of an engine coupled to an exhaust treatment catalyst. Under predetermined conditions, the method operates an engine with a first group of cylinders combusting a lean air/fuel mixture and a second group of cylinders pumping air only (i.e., without fuel injection). In addition, the engine control method also provides the following features in combination with the above-described split air/lean mode: idle speed control, sensor diagnostics, air/fuel ratio control, adaptive learning, fuel vapor purging, catalyst temperature estimation, default operation, and exhaust gas and emission control device temperature control. In addition, the engine control method also changes to combusting in all cylinders under preselected operating conditions such as fuel vapor purging, manifold vacuum control, and purging of stored oxidants in an emission control device.

Abstract: A rotation and/or tilt angle detection device for a ball and socket joint is provided wherein at least one magnet (2), especially a permanent magnet, is arranged in the joint ball (1a), wherein a display device (4) displays the magnetic field of the at least one magnet (2) by means of the magnetooptic effect. Abstract: A ball and socket joint (1) is provided with a pivoting angle sensor (9) for detecting the relative angular position of the joint housing (4) and the ball pivot (3). Abstract: A device system and a process for monitoring an industrial plant offers the persons working at the plant with the greatest possible protection. Signal transmitters (4, 5), which are fastened to persons (2, 3) or mobile objects, send or trigger a code related to a person or mobile object. Position marks (31, 32, 33, 34, 41, 42, 61, 62, 71, 72, 36, 37, 74), which provide a position code and a direction code for passing through an entrance or an exit, are arranged at entrances and exits of an industrial plant (21, 22). A receiving unit (15, 35, 43, 63, 73) receives the code of the signal transmitters combined with the position code and direction code. A computing and evaluating unit (12) is connected with the receiving unit and generates a topology for the persons or mobile objects to enter or leave the industrial plant.
Abstract: A press forming method is disclosed, wherein press forming can be effected at high speed while maintaining the horizontal state of a slide plate in press-forming a work-piece by a press machine. A press machine is used in which the slide plate is pressed by a plurality of drive sources using servo-motors for driving. The speed of one of the plurality of drive sources is set to a target speed for production forming for the drive source, and by using a function that shows a delay in terms of a speed of the drive source and a load thereon and also using a load separately found, the respective speeds of the drive sources are found so as to eliminate the delay between the drive sources. Trial forming is repeated on the basis of the thus-found speed to derive conditions that enable press-forming at high speed while maintaining the horizontal state of the slide plate.

Abstract: A lubricating structure of an engine for vehicle comprising a main pump for pressure-feeding a lubricating oil, and a scavenging pump for pumping the lubricating oil out of a crank room to transfer the oil, can reduce an applied load of a main pump and reduce a power loss of the pump while reducing the size of the main pump and the scavenging pump, and thus reducing the size of the entire engine. In the lubricating structure, the crank room and a transmission room are divided by a partition, an oil storage room communicating with a discharging portion of the scavenging pump is formed, and an oil passage for lubricating a transmission is formed in the transmission shaft along the shaft center and is opened to the oil storage room. The lubricating oil in the oil storage room is supplied to lubrication points on the transmission shaft through the oil passage of the transmission shaft.
Abstract: A transfer line for transporting workpieces from a first workstation to an adjacent second workstation comprises a frame with a depositing place for at least one workpiece. It further comprises a transporting beam, each end area of which having respective work supports. The transporting beam is supported for height adjustment between two positions of lifting such that the work supports are located above or below the depositing place. The transporting beam is further designed for longitudinal displacement between positions of transfer for the work supports to coincide horizontally with the depositing place.
