Abstract: A first side circuit connected to a primary coil of a transformer includes a main switching element driving the primary coil, and a control circuit which detects an output voltage to feedback and drives and controls the main switching element so as to keep constant the output voltage by acquiring a voltage induced in a tertiary coil of the transformer. A secondary side circuit of the transformer includes a dummy load circuit connected to the output terminal, a detection circuit which detects a secondary coil voltage of the transformer, and a dummy load control circuit which is controlled by the detection circuit and controls so as to flow current flow through the dummy load circuit only in a state of a light load.
Abstract: An internal combustion engine that can be operated in compression ignition mode, comprising a fuel injector (2) for each cylinder; a fuel injection control unit (4) for controlling fuel injection quantity and a piston (5) in each cylinder whose compression action causes a mixture of air and fuel to be ignited. The engine is further provided with inlet and outlet valves (6, 7) and sensors (12–16) for measuring various engine operating parameters, is disclosed. During compression ignition mode, the control unit controls the fuel injector to perform a first fuel injection before, and a second fuel injection after top dead center of the piston stroke during or after a negative valve overlap period. A method for operating the engine and a computer readable storage device (4) having stored therein data representing instructions executable by a computer to implement a compression ignition for an internal combustion engine is also described.
Abstract: An electronic valve actuation system and control method is described. The valve timing is changed between early and late intake valve closing depending on engine operating conditions. Further, valve timing is adjusted to control engine airflow or engine torque. Finally, air-fuel ratio is adjusted based on feedback from an exhaust gas oxygen sensor as well as an estimate of air, fuel, and residual exhausted from cylinders operating with late valve closing (after bottom dead center) timing.

Method of laser welding wherein a contact portion of a laser ray transmitting material comprising the laser ray transmitting colored thermoplastic resin composition above and a laser ray absorbing material is welded by irradiating laser ray so that the laser ray passes through the laser ray transmitting material and is absorbed in the laser ray absorbing material with the laser ray transmitting material and the laser ray absorbing material in contact with each other.
Abstract: A latch assembly to secure an access door on the housing of an electronic device. When a conventional locking device is coupled with the housing to deter theft of the electronic device as a whole, the latch assembly will maintain the access door in a closed position and deter theft of any component accessible via the access door.
Abstract: A device for transmitting electric signals detected by contact with the skin surface to an evaluating unit. The device has a stack of at least two layers of clothing (3, 7) with an electric path or electric line connection (4, 8) through each of the layers of clothing (3, 7). The lowermost layer of clothing (3) is provided with an electrode (2) contacting the skin surface of the body (1) of the wearer of the clothing and with an electrically conductive surface (5) on the side facing away from the skin surface. Each additional layer of clothing (7) stacked on the lowermost layer of clothing (3) is provided with an electrically conductive surface (6, 9) each on the underside and the top side. A carrying belt (11) is led over the stack of layers of clothing (3, 7) is provided with an electrically conductive surface (10), which faces the topmost layer of clothing (7) and which is connected to the evaluating unit (14) by means of an electric line (12).
Abstract: A press forming machine comprising driving shafts for pressing three or more respective pressure points and displacement measuring means for measuring a displacement close to the pressure point. A central driving shaft among the driving shafts has a gap (the slack) larger than those of other driving shafts between each of the driving shafts and a pressure plate. During press formation at a trial stage, a positional displacement close to each pressure point is measured by the displacement measuring means and control data is supplied to each driving source for driving a driving shaft to drive the pressure plate. Then, production press-formation is performed in accordance with the above result. Therefore, the central driving source can avoid overload by the slack of the driving shaft with the pressure plate.
Abstract: A method for controlling an engine having both an electronically controlled inlet device, such as an electronic throttle unite, and an electronically controlled outlet device, such as a variable cam timing system is disclosed. The method of the present invention achieves cylinder air charge control that is faster than possible by using an inlet device alone. In other words, the method of the present invention controls cylinder air charge faster than manifold dynamics by coordination of the inlet and outlet device. This improved control is used to improve various engine control functions.
