Abstract: A wet offset printing form has atop layer containing a photocatalytically and thermally modifiable material. The material can be brought photocatalytically into a hydrophilic state by irradiation with light and into a lipophilic state by heating. The hydrophilic state forms a surface that can be illustrated and the lipophilic state forms an illustrated surface. The top layer of the wet offset printing form may contain absorption centers for irradiation, especially for laser radiation in the NIR range, with which heating of the top layer in the pattern of an image is brought about.
Abstract: A dual coil half bridge converter adapted to be coupled to a dual coil actuator of a cylinder valve in an internal combustion engine is described. In one example, the converter has a first and second capacitor and a voltage source, where the converter is actuated via switches to individually energizing coils in said dual coil actuator. A voltage regulator is also shown for maintaining midpoint voltage during unequal loading of different actuator coils in the converter.
Abstract: A personal watercraft is disclosed. The personal watercraft typically includes a body formed by a hull and a deck covering the hull from above and having an inner space defined by the hull and the deck, an engine accommodated in the inner space of the body, and an exhaust pipe accommodated in the inner space and configured to guide an exhaust gas emitted from the engine outside the body. The body is typically provided with a penetrating hole through which an inside of the body and an outside of the body communicate with each other. The exhaust pipe is typically configured to extend through the penetrating hole and mounted to the body by a mounting device in the vicinity of the penetrating hole, and the mounting device is removably mounted to the body from outside the body.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for controlling operation of an engine coupled to an exhaust treatment catalyst. Under predetermined conditions, the method operates an engine with a first group of cylinders combusting a lean air/fuel mixture and a second group of cylinders pumping air only (i.e., without fuel injection). In addition, the engine control method also provides the following features in combination with the above-described split air/lean mode: idle speed control, sensor diagnostics, air/fuel ratio control, adaptive learning, fuel vapor purging, catalyst temperature estimation, default operation, and exhaust gas and emission control device temperature control. In addition, the engine control method also changes to combusting in all cylinders under preselected operating conditions such as fuel vapor purging, manifold vacuum control, and purging of stored oxidants in an emission control device.

Abstract: A device is provided for installing at least one linear motor line in the grooves (14) of an inductor (15) which is situated underneath a cover plate (10). The device includes a vehicle (31) which can be moved on the cover plate (10), a supply (34) of line (16), a device (36, 40) for forming the meander of the line (16), a device (35) for drawing the line (16) from the supply (34) and for delivering the line (16) to the device (36) and a tool (42) for pressing the line (16) into the grooves (14). The line may be installed automatically, even if the spacing of the grooves varies in dimension, by providing for an assembly slide (46) which can be moved in relation to the vehicle (31). The slide is located at least partially under the cover plate (10) and the device (36, 40) and tool (42) are located thereon.
Abstract: The orientation of textile articles such as stockings and socks having closed or open toe are detected by a method and apparatus, in a plant for the automatic treatment of articles in which the articles are pneumatically moved. A machine (6) requires the articles to arrive in a predetermined orientation, that is, presented with either their toe or opposite portion thereof facing the machine (6). Upstream of machine (6) is a removal device (2) able to pick up one or more articles from a container (1) in which the article are disposed in bulk. The apparatus and method are between removal device (2) and machine (6). A tubular chamber (30) is provided with an input/output section (300) for the articles. A fixed pin (31) is disposed centrally within the chamber (30) and substantially coaxial thereto. The articles are fitted onto the pin 30. A detection device (37) detects the presence of an article fitted onto the pin (31).

The frame assembly may include an inner frame disposed in a dimensionally stable relationship with a display screen where the relationship is substantially maintained during an environmental change which produces a variation in a size of the display screen. Abstract: A conversion apparatus for attachment to a vehicle is provided. The conversion apparatus may include a frame having a mounting assembly adapted to releasably couple the conversion apparatus to the vehicle, and a first extension and a second extension, where each extension laterally extends from the mounting assembly on opposing sides of the vehicle. The frame further includes a first support member extending from the first extension to form a first pocket between the vehicle and the first support member, and a second support member extending from the second extension to form a second pocket between the vehicle and the second support member.

Abstract: A method for operating at least an intake and exhaust valve in a cylinder with a piston of an engine in a vehicle, comprising during conditions of an engine shut-down, maintaining at least one of the intake and exhaust valves in a closed position, and during conditions where said at least one valve is in said closed position operating with the other of the intake and exhaust valve open, then closing the other of the intake and exhaust valve, and then opening the other of the intake and exhaust valve to generate braking torque to slow the engine.
Abstract: The ease of opening of a tubular casing is facilitated based on a plastic film comprising three or more layers. The tubular sealed casing (1) for packaging the contents therein is based on a composite plastic film formed into a tubular form by bending the base film into a circular form, overlaying two edges of the bent base film, and heat-sealing the overlaid section so that a not heat-sealed section (8) will be left in an edge section of an upper film when the two edges thereof are overlaid on each other. The casing base film (2) is a composite plastic film comprising three or more layers. In this casing, the peel strength between the outer layer (5) and intermediate layer film (3) is set to a lower level as compared to the peel strength between the inner layer film (4) and intermediate layer film (3).
Abstract: A main switch apparatus of a small watercraft is provided. The main switch apparatus of a small watercraft having a main switch. The main switch apparatus includes a plurality of keys, each for operating the main switch, each assigned a different user ID information. The main switch apparatus may further include an ID information detector for detecting the user ID information assigned to one of the plurality of keys applied to the main switch, a controller for controlling the small watercraft, configured to be activated by each one of the plurality of keys, and a control pattern memory for storing a plurality of control patterns of the controller corresponding to the respective user ID information. The controller is typically configured to read out the control pattern stored in the control pattern memory corresponding to the user ID information detected by the user ID information detector and to execute a control of the watercraft based on the read out control pattern.
Abstract: An image-rendering device including a body, a connector movably coupled to the body, wherein the connector is configured to electrically and structurally couple the body to the projection device such that the body is movable relative to the connector, and an image receiver associated with the body is provided. The image receiver is adapted to alternatively receive first and second interchangeable data transfer devices, wherein each interchangeable data transfer device is configured to allow transfer of data representing an image to the image-rendering device. The image-rendering device also includes a processor and memory, wherein the memory includes a set of instructions executable by the processor to render the image from the data and to provide the image to the projection device.

Abstract: A system for an engine has an upstream emission control device with a washcoat having a predetermined amount of precious metal disassociated with NOx storage material, where the upstream emission control device in a close coupled location to an exhaust manifold of the engine. The system also includes a downstream emission control device coupled to the upstream emission control device. Further, a controller is used for operating the engine lean with retarded ignition timing to generate heat and raise temperatures of said upstream and downstream emission control devices. The controller also determines whether temperature of said upstream device has reached a predetermined value, and in response to said determination, operates the engine rich at least to reduce NOx stored in said upstream emission control device during said lean operation.
