Abstract: New precursors and processes are disclosed for making fluorinated, low dielectric constant ? thin films that have higher dimensional stability and are more rigid than fluorinated poly (para-xylylenes). The fluorinated, low dielectric constant thin films can be prepared from reactions of an ethylenic-containing precursor with benzocyclobutane-, biphenyl- and/or dieneone-containing precursors. The fluorinated, low dielectric constant thin films are useful for fabrications of future <0.13 ?m integrated circuits (ICs). Using fluorinated, low-dielectric constant thin films prepared according to this invention, the integrity of the dielectric, copper (Cu) and barrier metals, such as Ta, can be kept intact; therefore improving the reliability of the IC.
Abstract: The spectrometer comprises at least a first optical path for a beam of electromagnetic radiation, along which the following are set: a beam-entry slit (1) for an incoming beam; a collimator (5) comprising a convergent spherical mirror for collimation of the incoming beam; a first dispersor (9) for dispersion of the beam into its chromatic components; a first focusing system (19); and a first detector (21) which receives the beam dispersed and focused by said first focusing system. Set along the first optical path there is set at least one first aspherical corrector element (7; 17) comprising an aspherical mirror for correction of spherical aberration.

Abstract: A press forming machine having a slide plate which reciprocates by driving sources between a lower support stand and an upper support plate and has a forming space between the lower support stand and the slide plate. In the press forming machine, a reference plate for a displacement reference for the slide plate is supported on the lower support stand. The driving sources are engaged with the slide plate by the drive shafts of the driving sources to drive and press the slide plate. The drive shaft is provided with a through hole axially extending in a shaft center thereof, and displacement measuring devices each for each of the drive shafts measures the displacement of the slide plate portion corresponding to the through hole with respect to the reference plate, through the through hole. As a result, the displacements at the pressurized points on the slide plate can be measured.

Abstract: The wide angle lens system described herein allows projection devices (e.g., rear projection display devices) to be more compact than would otherwise be possible. The lens system includes a wide angle lens stage and a relay lens stage. When operating as a projection device, the relay lens stage projects a distorted intermediate image to the wide angle lens stage, which projects the image for display. The distortion cause by the relay lens stage compensates (i.e., is approximately equal and opposite) for the distortion caused by the wide angle stage. The distortion can be the image shape and/or the focal plane. When operating as a taking device, the wide angle stage provides a distorted image to the relay lens stage, which compensates for the distortion and provide a less distorted, or even non-distorted image, for capture.
Abstract: The invention relates to a new method and system for optimizing the efficiency of an automotive catalytic converter by adjusting the engine air/fuel ratio based on estimates of the actual amount of oxidants stored in the catalyst. The oxidant storage capacity of the catalyst is adjusted by controlling engine spark in response to an estimate of a current amount of oxidants stored in the catalyst and an estimate of the total available oxidant storage capacity of the catalyst. To maintain engine speed in spite of adjustments to the engine spark, the engine air mass is also adjusted.

The method typically determining the position of a product within the shopping environment, tracking a shopper path of a shopper through the shopping environment, via a wireless tracking system, and calculating a product-shopper proximity measure based at least in part on a physical distance of a shopper traveling along the shopping path from the position of the product.
Abstract: A microprocessor-based controller is provided for generated heat in at various locations in an exhaust system of an engine by changing the heat generation technique utilized. In one case, some cylinder air-fuel ratios are modulated between stoichiometry and rich, while others are modulated between stoichiometry and lean. Another approach operates some cylinder lean, while others are modulated between a first rich, and a second, less rich, value. Further, compensation based on engine airflow is also provided. Finally, various methods are described for temperature control and for controlling modulation of air-fuel ratio.
Abstract: A method for controlling an engine having both an electronically controlled inlet device, such as an electronic throttle unite, and an electronically controlled outlet device, such as a variable cam timing system is disclosed. The method of the present invention achieves cylinder air charge control that is faster than possible by using an inlet device alone. In other words, the method of the present invention controls cylinder air charge faster than manifold dynamics by coordination of the inlet and outlet device. This improved control is used to improve various engine control functions.
