Abstract: A coin dispensing apparatus is provided which can detect a dispensed coin without lowering a dispensation speed of coins, even dispensed small-diameter coins without lowering a dispensation speed without damaging a coin detecting device. The coin dispensing apparatus has a throwing-out device and a noncontact type detecting device. A rebound member is provided against which the coin thrown out by the throwing-out device strikes, to rebound in a predetermined direction. The noncontact type coin detecting device continuously detects a coin before the coin strikes against the rebound member and after the coin rebounds.
Abstract: A system for providing driver feedback is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system provides a driver with feedback in response to a brake pedal and an accelerator pedal. The system may help to increase vehicle fuel economy.

Abstract: A respirator for breath-supporting respiration has improved sensitivity of triggering breathing support. A pre-inspiratory inspiratory gas flow is set, which flows off via the expiration valve (9). The closing pressure pv of the expiration valve is measured with a pressure sensor (11) in the process. The gas flow is increased in case of an inspiratory effort of the patient to the extent that the closing pressure pv of the expiration valve (9) is restored. Breath support is generated when the difference between the preset gas flow and the gas flow that is needed to maintain the closing pressure pv at a constant level exceeds a predetermined threshold value.
Abstract: A method of controlling an engine having a lean NOx trap in the exhaust is described. The method comprises during a first mode, at a first temperature, storing NOx at a lean condition and then purging stored NOx from the NOx trap at a rich condition without concurrently supplying oxygen to the trap during the purging and during a second mode, at a second, lower temperature, storing NOx at a lean condition and then purging stored NOx from the NOx, where an exothermic reaction is generated to temporarily raise the temperature of the trap by supplying oxygen and reductants with an overall rich mixture to the trap during the purging.

Abstract: A composition and method for use of a soy-based material binder is provided. One example method for increasing road stabilization with a soy-based material binder may include determining road base attributes of the road base for application. The method may further include creating a soy-based material binder comprising at least one of a soy protein isolate with a concentration in the range of 1 to 20% of soy protein isolate based on road base attributes. The method may further include determining an amount of soy-based material binder for a volume of application based on the concentration of soy protein isolate in the soy-based material binder and the road base attributes. Further still, the method may include combining the soy-based material binder and the road base wherein the resultant mixture includes soy-based material binder in a range of 0.0001-5 gallons per pound of road base.

Abstract: A threaded nut is provided for a linear drive having a rotatable spindle. Abstract: A method for operating an engine arrangement with a first internal combustion engine and a second internal combustion engine in a vehicle is provided. Abstract: A system and method may be provided for operating a system having an engine with an emission control system, the emission control system including a lean NOx trap and a particulate filter, where after lean exhaust gas air-fuel ratio regeneration of the particulate filter at an elevated regeneration temperature, a rich or intermittently rich exhaust air-fuel ratio is provided for a duration lasting until LNT temperature falls to a minimum threshold, where said rich or intermittently rich operation reactivates catalysts in the LNT and reverses deactivation caused by the elevated temperature lean operation associated with previous particulate filter regeneration.
