Abstract: 2,5-di-(.omega.-aminoalkyl-1')-pyrazines are obtained by catalytic hydrogenation of nitro compounds of the formula ##STR1## They are suitable as hardeners for epoxides or for the manufacture of polyamides.
Abstract: Hydantoin diacrylate compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, alkyl containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 is alkyl containing 5 to 8 carbon atoms; each of R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently are hydrogen or methyl and m and n each represent an integer of from 1 to 30 are prepared. The diacrylate compounds are liquid at room temperature, easily processable as adhesives, casting and laminating resins and when cured possess excellent resistance to water.
Abstract: Hydroxybenzylmalonic acid derivatives of 1-acylpiperidin-4-ols or 1-acyl-4-aminopiperidines respectively having the formula ##STR1## WHEREIN R.sub.a, R.sub.b, R.sub.c, R.sub.d are hydrocarbon residues, R.sub.e is H or lower alkyl, R.sub.1 is a hydroxybenzyl residue, R.sub.2 is H or R.sub.1, X is --O-- or --NH-- and Y is hydrogen, a hydrocarbon, amino, alkoxy or phenoxy residue are excellent stabilizers for plastics material, especially for polyolefins. They act against heat aging as well as against light aging. The compounds may be prepared by acylation of the corresponding NH compounds or by hydroxybenzylation of the corresponding malonic acid derivatives.

Abstract: New amino phosphonates, containing 2,2,6,6-tetrasubstituted-piperidino moieties and processes for their manufacture are disclosed. These compounds are employed to stabilize organic materials such as polyolefins, polyamides and polyurethanes against degradation from the action of oxygen, heat and light.
Abstract: Alkylated 1,1'-biphenyl-2,2'-diyl phosphonites are prepared by reacting alkylated 2,2'-dihydroxybiphenylene with dichloroaryl or dichloroalkyl phosphine in an organic solvent. Said phosphonites are useful as stabilizers of organic polymers and lubricating oils, especially as process stabilizers for polyolefins.
Abstract: Polymers, both natural and synthetic, are stabilized against the deterioration resulting from heat and/or light by the incorporation of certain 2,2,6,6-tetra-substituted-4-piperidinol derivatives which additionally have an alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aralkyl substituent at one or both of the 3- and 5- positions.
Abstract: Curable compositions are prepared comprising a polyepoxide compound, and as a curing agent, a cyanamide of a secondary amine. The curable compositions may be applied as a one package system and they are useful as laminating, surface coating resins, sintering powders, molding resins and adhesives.
Abstract: New halogenated bis(cyclopentadienyl) compounds of the general formula ##STR1## in which X represents a halogen atom having an atomic number of at most 35, that is to say a fluorine, bromine or preferably chlorine atom, R.sub.1 and R.sub.1 ' each represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and n = 1, 2, 3 or 4.The monomer of the formula (I) undergoes spontaneous dimerization or oligomerization respectively after it is formed. The carboxylic acids are prepared for example, from 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-ol and cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride to give (O-mono(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-ol)cyclohexane(1,2-dicarboxylate. The metal salts of the acids are readily prepared by reacting the acids or their salts with a reactive form of the metal or metal complex.

Abstract: The invention relates to solutions which are stable on storage and which contain curable mixtures of polymaleimides, comonomers for these polymaleimides and, optionally, polymerization catalysts and compounds which contain at least one furyl radical, preferably furfuryl alcohol. The solutions are used for the manufacture of crosslinked polymers containing imide groups. Usually a substrate is impregnated with the solution. After drying, curing is carried out at 100 to 300.degree. C. Using a known method, for example, glass fibre fabric is subjected to hot pressing together with a copper foil, curing being effected. This gives correspondingly copper-coated laminated sheets which are outstandingly suitable for the manufacture of printed circuits.
Abstract: Sterically hindered piperidines having at least 5 alkyl groups in ring positions 2,3,5 and 6 are usable as light-stabilizers for organic polymers. The nitrogen may be unsubstituted or may bear a mono- to tetravalent substituent. The compounds can be synthesized by a Wolf-Kishner reduction of polyalkyl 4-oxopiperidines optionally followed by a N-substitution reaction in a second step.The stabilizers are added to the polymers in an amount of from 0.01 to 5% by weight. Preferred is the stabilization of polyolefins, styrene polymers, polyamides and polyurethanes.
