Abstract: An actuator device for a bicycle gearshift is provided. The actuator device having an articulated quadrilateral mechanism intended to be integrally fixed to a bicycle frame and to a derailleur of the gearshift, a motor member that acts on the articulated quadrilateral mechanism to deform the articulated quadrilateral, and displaces the derailleur and a support element for the motor member associated with the articulated quadrilateral. According to the invention, one of the motor member and the support element comprises at least one jutting element and the other of the motor member and the support element comprises at least one seat adapted to receive said jutting element. Thus, the motor member is associated with the support element so as to prevent mutual translations in the axial direction in any operating or climatic condition.
Abstract: A biased gap inductor includes a first ferromagnetic plate, a second ferromagnetic plate, a conductor sandwiched between the first ferromagnetic plate and the second ferromagnetic plate, and an adhesive between the first ferromagnetic plate and the second ferromagnetic plate, the adhesive comprising magnet powder to thereby form at least one magnetic gap. A method of forming an inductor includes providing a first ferromagnetic plate and a second ferromagnetic plate and a conductor, placing the conductor between the first ferromagnetic plate and the second ferromagnetic plate, adhering the first ferromagnetic plate to the second ferromagnetic plate with a composition comprising an adhesive and a magnet powder to form magnetic gaps, and magnetizing the inductor.
Abstract: A method for forming different active thicknesses on the same silicon layer includes masking the silicon layer and exposing selected regions of the silicon layer. The thickness of the silicon layer at the exposed regions is changed, either by adding silicon or subtracting silicon from the layer at the exposed regions. Once the mask is removed, the silicon layer has regions of different active thicknesses, respectively suitable for use in different types of devices, such as diodes and transistors.

Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) receives and samples communication signals, where the communication signals have a time frame format, a transmission chip rate and a synchronization code associated with a time slot that includes a midamble that indicates a modulation of the synchronization code where a specified modulation of received synchronization codes identifies the timing for a timeslot in which data is to be received. The UE preferably includes a synchronization code determination circuit, a midamble determination circuit, and a phase modulation sequence detection circuit operatively associated with the midamble determination circuit. The UE can be configured for use with the low chip rate option of the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) standards that employ a predefined set of downlink SYNC codes that point to midambles which indicate SYNC code modulation sequence to enables reading of data in a subsequent Broadcast Channel (BCH) message.
Abstract: An improved method of network management, particularly in the context of standards IEEE802.11 and IEEE802.11k, through two new MAC measurements, with attendant advantages. The two new measurements include WTRU uplink traffic loading measurement, and an AP service loading measurement and is generally applicable at least to layers 1 and 2 as applied to a least 802.11k in the context of OFDM and CDMA 2000 systems, but is applicable to other scenarios as well. A Method for determining and advertising congestion is also provided for a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) system. The present invention also introduces a method for managing congestion when congestion is detected. This aspect of the present invention applies primarily to wireless systems that use the Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) mechanism. The methods are advantageously implemented in selectively configured WTRUs of various forms.

Abstract: A method for multicasting a packet begins by providing a buffer for each of two user equipments (UEs) in communication with a base station. A determination is made whether there is a previously unsent packet at the base station. A second determination is made whether both UE buffers are non-empty. A non-empty buffer is flushed if there is no previously unsent packet and if one of the buffers is non-empty. A packet is selected to be transmitted if there is a previously unsent packet or if both buffers are non-empty. The buffers are updated based on feedback received from the UEs.

Abstract: The storage control device of the present invention reduces the power consumption amount by stopping the transmission of power to enclosures that are not accessed. A plurality of additional enclosures are switch-connected via backend switches to a base enclosure. Drives that have not been accessed for a predetermined time or more undergo spin-down. When all of the drives in the enclosure enter a spin-down state, the supply of power from the power supply in the enclosure to the respective drives is stopped. The base enclosure that manages the system constitution of the storage control device turns OFF the switch connected to the enclosure when all of the drives in a certain enclosure have spun down. The transmission of power to this enclosure is accordingly stopped.
Abstract: A method and system is disclosed wherein timeslots designated in a wireless communication system as Common Physical Channel (CPCH) timeslots may be reused for user traffic. A CPCH timeslot used in a first cell may be reused by a second cell, assuming the first and second cells transmit control information in different CPCH timeslots, for user traffic. The second cell is permitted to reuse the timeslot in which the first cell is transmitting control information so long as the second cell's reuse of that timeslot does not degrade reception of control information in the first cell.

Abstract: An anti-skid brake control system and its control method for vehicle has a signal collection unit and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit includes a data receiving module, a data processing module and a data control module. The data receiving module receives the data collected by the signal collection unit. The data processing module calculates sideslip angles and slip rates for wheels. The data control module sets target slip rates based on the slip rates corresponding to the friction coefficient ? for different sideslip angles. The device emits control commands after comparing the calculated slip rate to the set target slip rate, so that the ABS control is real time.
Abstract: A field-effect transistor comprising a movable gate electrode that suppresses a leakage current from the gate electrode, and has a large current drivability and a low leakage current between a source and a drain. Embodiments include forming a dual damascene opening in a porous, low-k organosilicate layer, the organosilicate having a pendant silanol functional group, depositing a siloxane polymer having a silylating functional group which bonds with the pendant silanol group to form the sealant layer, depositing a Ta and/or TaN barrier metal layer by CVD or ALD and filling the opening with Cu or a Cu alloy.
