  • Patent number: 4846685
Abstract: A perforated dental post system is provided for anchoring a crown to the root of a tooth. This post consists of a shank with a spiral thread running lengthwise thereof. Serrations are provided on the shank. Flanges are provided at the upper end of the post. A central bore runs lengthwise of the post, and spaced transverse or perpendicular cross bores are provided in the post. When the bores are filled with cement and the outer wall of the post is coated with cement, the post can be anchored to the tooth root and to the crown. In a second embodiment of the dental post, a plurality of longitudinally extending grooves are provided in the surface of the post together with a plurality of shallow longitudinally and radially extending bores. When the various bores and grooves are filled with cement, they can be used to anchor the post in a tooth.

  • Patent number: 4839928
Abstract: A first embodiment of a toilet seat lowering device is provided for coupling to the toilet handle of a toilet system to lower a vertically positioned toilet seat. The device consists of a tubular member which is positioned over the handle of the toilet system and a spaced wedge member for sliding between the toilet lid and seat. The sleeve and wedge member are connected together by a wire member. Upon operation of the toilet handle, the wedge slides between the toilet lid and toilet seat to lower the latter to the toilet commode. In a second embodiment of the invention, the toilet lowering device consists of a pair of holding members for holding the toilet lid and a wedge for causing a vertically positioned toilet seat to be lowered when the toilet handle is operated. A plastic connector connects the toilet handle to the toilet lowering device.

  • Patent number: 4837503
Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus and technique for detecting the voltage of A.C. high voltage lines. A radar wave is transmitted towards the high voltage lines and is reflected to a detector when the AC voltage drops to threshold level. Reflection continues until the AC voltage cycles to the threshold level on it second half of the cycle. A time interval is calculated for radar reflection and non-reflection, and a ratio thereof is calculated by a microprocessor which generates a display indicating the voltage carried by the AC lines in accordance with the time interval ratio.

  • Patent number: 4796330
Abstract: A hinge mask product is provided, which consists of two substantially rectangular parts, with one of the parts having a tab for removal of this one part. One part of the mask is for the face of a hinge positioned and coupled between door and a door frame. The other part of the hinge mask is for the pin of the hinge. These parts of the hinge mask are used to mask the front face of the hinge and the hinge pin to prevent them from being covered by paint, stain, lacquer, or similar material when the door and door frame are located with a material, such as paint, lacquer, and the like. Hinges are of several standard sizes, and there are several specialty sizes. The hinge mask can be manufactured to cover both standard and specialty sizes.

  • Patent number: 4735292
Abstract: A hydraulically operated elevator door mechanism includes a motor-driven shaft connected to rotate gears within a fluid reservoir. Fluid is "pumped" as the gears rotate, to one side of a piston, propelling the piston. The piston is connected to two pulleys over which a cable length is attached to the elevator door. Piston movement causes the pulleys to effectively shorten the length of cable between the pulley and door, which in turn, causes the door to slide.

  • Patent number: 4715622
Abstract: A postal decal (stamp) which may be purchased regularly as a stamp is developed such that it carries a separable part of which is available for entering a destination identifier code (e.g. zip code) with the proper tool which can be a pen or pencil. These identifiers are written such that they are machine readable. Thus the process of sorting the mail and parcels to their destination can be greatly enhanced together with less human intervention for sorting. These stamps may be obtained at the usual post offices. If special pens or pencils are needed, they can be provided also at those post offices or at any other outlet. A second type of stamp is developed where the part designated for entering the destination identifier is thinly coated partially or totally with a magnetic or illuminating or coloring material which can be detected by the appropriate `reading` or scanning machine which reacts sensitively to this coating material.
