Abstract: A solid hard-surface cleaning composition contains from about 20 to about 40% by weight of a fatty acid component; from about 10 to about 25% by weight of a polyol component; from about 2 to about 6% by weight of a base component; from about 2 to about 15% by weight of a foaming agent; and remainder, water, all weights being based on the total weight of the composition. The cleaning composition is particularly useful in combination with an abrasive substrate such as in abrasive scouring pads, providing lubricity, sudsing and improved detergency over untreated pads.
Abstract: A method for the temporary protection of metal surfaces from corrosion is provided in which the metal surface to be temporarily protected from corrosion is coated with a guanidinium salt of an unsaturated fatty acid containing 6 to 44 carbon atoms.

Abstract: A container for a free-flowing product, in particular typographic correction fluid, includes a tubular neck with an application aperture with a valve closure for the controlled application of metered quantities of the fluid to a substrate. The container remains, over an extended period, perfectly capable not only of applying spots of fluid precisely at a given point but also of applying the fluid over large areas. This is achieved by fitting the container with a second tubular neck with a second aperture and fitted with a removable closure cap with an integral applicator brush. Both tubular necks are disposed in the upper part of the container in such a way that the far end of the tubular neck with the application aperture projects out beyond the cap when the cap is in place over the second aperture.

Abstract: Heavy metals are efficiently removed from contaminated soil by a process which comprises leaching or washing the soil with a mild leachant solution. The leachant solution is comprised of an aqueous solution of an acid and a salt. The anion of the acid forms a water-soluble salt with the heavy metals which contaminate the soil. The salt component is comprised of at least one alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, or an ammonium salt having one or more anions which also form a water-soluble salt with the heavy metals leached from the contaminated soil.

Abstract: Described is a single-component adhesive made from a radical-polymerized olefinically unsaturated monomer and an air-activated initiator system and characterized in that the adhesive also contains isocyanate and/or silane groups. This makes a dual curing mechanism possible. The more rapid of the two curing reactions gives specific characteristics in the initial stage, e. g. high initial strength, high adhesive strength or high contact strength. The slower of the two reactions produces the definitive characteristics, e.g. final strength or resistance to heat.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process for forming a hydrotrope which effectively reduces the likelihood of phase separation in a liquid cleaning composition and simultaneously enhancing its cleaning properties by combining an alkyl polyglycoside having the formula IR.sub.7 O(Z).sub.a (I)wherein R.sub.7 is a monovalent organic radical having from about 6 to about 30 carbon atoms; Z is saccharide residue having 5 or 6 carbon atoms; a is a number having a value from 1 to about 6 and an amphoteric surfactant, in a percent actives ratio of about 1:1.The amphoteric surfactants to be used are preferably selected from the group consisting of N-alkyl beta-alanines, amino betaines, amido betaines, imidazoline betaines, amino oxides, as well as mixtures thereof.
Abstract: The invention relates to acoustically active sprayable plastisol compositions based on styrene copolymers and/or alkyl methacrylate homopolymers and/or copolymers of methyl methacrylate which, in addition to the favorable abrasion properties and corrosion-preventing properties of the plastisols, have a good vibration-damping effect and distinctly reduce the noise caused by particle impact (chippings, water, sand).

Abstract: In the production of granules containing anionic surfactants and having a bulk density above 450 g/l by granulation of a surfactant preparation containing a non-surface-active liquid component, the water demand and hence the energy demand for evaporating the water can be reduced if the anionic surfactant in its acid form or a mixture containing one or more anionic surfactants in their acid form and an aqueous alkaline solution are separately treated with a gaseous medium, subsequently sprayed in substantially stoichiometric quantities into the granulation and drying zone either separately or together under a high propellant gas pressure and then granulated and, at the same time, dried, optionally with addition of one or more inorganic or organic solids.
