Abstract: A process for filling a non-self-supporting pack with cylindrical, pellet-like products by introducing into a pack closely surrounding at least one multiple-row layer of the products in such a manner that the products are arranged beside and above one another in linear contact with one another at their cylindrical surfaces and are arranged closely adjacent one another in the pack so that they fit exactly into the pack, are self-supporting, and disperse a pressure applied externally to the pack through the cylindrical surfaces of the products. The pack is brought into a transportation position wherein the products are in an upright position. A pack unit of the products is also disclosed.

Abstract: Relates to the direct esterification of phenols, particularly alkyl-substituted phenols, with a carboxylic acid or anhydride, in the presence of a strong acid catalyst. Also relates to the use of the acid anhydride to drive the esterification reaction to completion, where an initial reaction mixture has been formed using the carboxylic acid. Further relates to the achievement of economies in esterification by recovering dilute aqueous acid when either the acid or anhydride is used initially, for recycling to achieve economies of acid use.

Abstract: A mixture of an adduct of an epoxy resin and a novolak with an acrylate polymer, a modified bisphenol A or a polyol in conjunction with a polyisocyanate or a polyol of an OH-terminated polyurethane or polyester gives a heat-sealing adhesive combining high heat resistance and good hydrolysis stability with relatively high bond strengths. Accordingly, the composition is suitable above all as a base material and cover film for printed circuits.
Abstract: A process is provided for preparing a dispersion of a polyamide in water, said process comprising:forming a solution of a polyamide having an acid value of greater than about 2 in an organic solvent to form a solution of said polyamide in said solvent, said polyamide and said solvent being at a temperature below the softening point of said polyamide during said dissolving, said solution further comprising a surfactant, wherein at least a portion of the acid value of said polyamide is neutralized, adding sufficient water to said solution with mixing to form an oil-in-water dispersion, the temperature of said solution and said water being below the softening point of said polyamide during said adding, andremoving at least a major amount of said organic solvent from said oil-in-water dispersion. The resulting dispersion is useful in preparing a coating of the polyamide, which coating is useful as an adhesive.

Abstract: The invention includes an adhesive-filled tube comprising a membrane-sealed mouth and a cannula, with a bore extending over is longitudinal axis, inseparably fixed to the mouth, and a closure cap releasably fixed to the cannula with a needle-like spike which is guided for displacement in the bore of the cannula, and which is held fixed by its head elements, the latter being thicker than its needle element, in a starting position in a recess of the closure cap provided with an access opening to the cannula with the opportunity for axial displacement into an opening position piercing the membrane. In particular, the danger of adhesive issuing from the cannula after the membrane has been pierced is reduced. To this end, a closure element is formed on the spike between the head element and the needle element bearing sealingly against the cannula outlet opening in the membrane-piercing opening position of the spike.
Abstract: This invention relates to proteases with improved application properties in cleaners and detergents. The improvement's achieved by substituting positively charged or uncharged amino acids in the substrate binding region of the wild type subtilisin protease.
