C. The reactor is packed with a geometrically regularly arranged elements of a material inert to the components under the reaction conditions, and the hydrogen is passed through the reactor in parallel current or countercurrent to the fatty acid substrate under a gas velocity of from 0.5 to 30 cm/sec., based on the overall cross-section of the reactor. Preferably the catalyst is fixed on an insoluble support and suspended in small quantities of the particular reaction product before being added to the substrate and entering the reactor.

Abstract: N-4-aminophenyl-N'-2,4-diaminophenyl alkylenediamines corresponding to the formula ##STR1## and water-soluble salts thereof. The above compounds are suitable as developers in oxidation hair dyes. Such hair dyes contain compounds corresponding to formula (I) or salts thereof as developer component in addition to conventional developer and conventional coupler components and, optionally, conventional substantive hair dyes in a cosmetic carrier. In conjunction with phenols, naphthols, resorcinols and 1,3-bis-(2,4-diaminophenyl)-alkanes or 1,3-bis-(2,4-diaminophenoxy)-alkanes as couplers, the new developers give particularly intensive colors with good light fastness properties.
Abstract: Granular, phosphate-reduced, builder-containing detergent compositions containing a combination of natural layer silicates and fatty acid condensates. The fatty acid condensates are prepared by reaction of fatty acid triglycerides and hydroxyalkyl polyamines. The detergent compositions have an excellent softening effect both at low and high washing temperatures. The compositions provide synergistic softening effects, particularly at low temperatures.
