Abstract: A gift box apparatus having a locking mechanism and a programmable timer for selecting a specific date and time for when the gift box apparatus may become unlocked to reveal a gift contained therein is disclosed. In one embodiment, the gift box apparatus includes an integrated compartment that may be automatically released from the gift box apparatus at a preselected time, thereby revealing a key contained therein, which may be used by a recipient of the gift box apparatus to unlock a main compartment of the gift box apparatus and retrieve a gift contained therein.
Abstract: A harp is disclosed. The harp that allows for more simplified pitch change. The harp allows for the creation of a pitch bend effect, similar to the sound of the twang of a guitar. The harp also allows for rising half tones in the strings, wherein the pitch of a string is raised by exactly one semitone. Because of the various ways to change the pitch, each string in the harp is capable of playing up to three different notes.
Abstract: A method of retro-fitting a moisture detection fitting in the wall of a building in accordance with the following steps: forming a space which proceeds into the wall; and inserting the moisture detection fitting into the space such that a probe of the fitting: 1) presses into timber framing within the wall, or 2) stops short of timber framing within the wall but contacts a moisture absorbent filler forming part of the fitting and wherein the filler can absorb moisture from the timber framing. The moisture detection fitting being fitted substantially permanently such that when it is in use a moisture detection device can be detachably connected to the fitting outside the wall and use the probes, and if appropriate the filler, to measure a moisture content of the timber framing.
Abstract: A snow pole and snow board binding combination is disclosed. The snow pole is conveniently stored on a snowboard binding. The snow pole has telescoping pole members that may be automatically extended from an interior portion of a housing of the snow pole and may be automatically retracted into an interior portion of a housing of the snow pole. The snow pole may have an emergency flag system that is contained within the housing of the snow pole.
Abstract: A switched current source has a first voltage source, a second voltage source, and a third voltage source. A first transistor has a drain terminal coupled to one terminal of a load and a source terminal coupled to the third voltage source. A second transistor has drain, gate and source terminals. The drain terminal of the second transistor is coupled to the gate terminal of the first transistor. The source terminal of the second transistor is coupled to the source terminal of the first transistor. The gate terminal of the second transistor is coupled to the first voltage source. A third transistor has drain, gate and source terminals. The drain terminal of the third transistor is coupled to the gate terminal of the first transistor. The source terminal of the third transistor is coupled to the second voltage source. The gate terminal of the third transistor is coupled to the first voltage source.
Abstract: A digital couriering system and method for electronically moving records and images through a central user interface with a centralized security and access mechanism is disclosed. The disclosed system and method is a network that makes it possible for records comprising personal information and other non-personal information to be delivered in seconds via the Internet, instead of days through the use of the current standard couriers, such as messenger services or regular mail. Using the disclosed system and method, vital documents not only reach their destination more quickly but also in a more cost effective manner.
Abstract: A treatment method for pathologies in which increased levels of MMP production are implicated in pathogenesis. Examples of such pathologies include pterygium, kerataconus, and macular degeneration. Treatment is based on administration of cysteamine in therapeutically effective amounts. Treatment may be in one of several alternative forms, including eye drops and oral applications. Administration in the form of eye drops may be preferred for pathologies affecting the eyes.
Abstract: A semiconductor device has a substrate. A semiconductor die is coupled to a first surface of the substrate. An encapsulate is placed over the semiconductor die. A first plurality of lands is formed on the first surface of the substrate around the encapsulate. A second plurality of lands is formed on a second surface of the substrate. A first group of the second plurality of lands has a pitch and a second group of the second plurality of lands has a pitch of a different length.

Abstract: A motor mount repair system for use in a component assembly comprising a degradable member, a framework and a bolt-housing shaft of the component assembly includes an adhesion and sealing material comprising at least one resin. The degradable member of the component assembly is coupled in co-operative relationship to both the framework and to the bolt-housing shaft of the component assembly. When applied to the degradable member, the adhesion and sealing material adheres to and seals the degradable member permitting both repair of the degradable member and re-use of the component assembly. The component assembly comprises at least one of a motor mount, a shock absorber end, a sway bar bushing and a control arm bushing. Various methods of repairing the degradable member of the component assembly with the motor mount repair system are used.
Abstract: A cap assembly and method therefore is disclosed. The cap assembly preferably has a funnel coupled thereto. Preferably, the funnel is stored within the cap assembly so that it will always be available for use. Further preferably, the user could avoid getting any of the liquid on his/her hands because the funnel would be capable of being placed into position and stored without the user ever having to touch it.
Abstract: A head restraint device and method therefor capable of being coupled to an article of furniture and capable of comfortably securing the head of a user to an article of furniture so that the user may rest in the article of furniture with his or her head secured in a substantially upright position.
Abstract: A mobile power generating system and method, located on a mobile carrier. A power supply is coupled to an electrical drive motor, to power the drive motor. Rotational output from the drive motor is routed through a gear reduction system to increase one of horsepower and torque, and increased rotational output is then supplied to a generator, generating an electrical output. That output may be routed through a fuse box and transformer to the bus line.
Abstract: A safety bumper system for a high profile vehicle, such as a pick-up truck or sport utility vehicle. The system comprises of a pair of vertical members which are coupled to the frame of a high profile vehicle, proximate one of the bumpers. The members are coupled so that they extend downward sufficiently to contact a bumper of a conventional passenger vehicle in the event of a collision between the high profile vehicle and the passenger vehicle. Impact pads are positioned over the vertical members, and bumper covers may be positioned over the pads. The impact pads may slope outwardly and include a plurality of grooves, in order to assist in preventing a conventional passenger vehicle from sliding upwardly or downwardly along the safety bumper system upon impact with the high profile vehicle.
Abstract: A backlit mirror assembly comprises a mirror, a lamp chamber, and a prop. The mirror is pivotally coupled to the lamp chamber so that it may be tilted outwardly, thereby allowing access to electrical components housed within the lamp chamber. A prop maintains the mirror in an open position. In one embodiment, the prop incorporates a gas spring to facilitate lifting of the mirror by a sole user. The mirror may be coupled to a rigid frame in order to strengthen the mirror, thereby reducing flexing of the mirror and hazards associated with such flexing.
Abstract: An improved greywater disposal system is provided which substantially eliminates onboard standing greywater. The system includes one or more onboard plumbing fixtures fluidly connected to a greywater sump. The bottom of the greywater sump is sloped toward a drain therein at a low end. The prongs of a sensor may be suspended in the sump drain and/or in an inlet chamber defined at an inlet end of the greywater sump. The sensor is associated with a controller and sump or bilge pump. The pump is turned on when the prong tips of the sensor become immersed in greywater which occurs substantially simultaneously with the production of the greywater. The onboard plumbing fixtures include one or more sinks, showers, bathtubs, washing machines and air conditioning units. The system may be used on boats, ships, RVs, campers or the like.
