  • Patent number: 4549068
Abstract: A rotatable barrel mounting assembly comprising a main base barrel adapter structure of electrical conducting material that is detachably connectable with a connection block for cooling fluid, electrical, inert gas and welding wire sources of a MIG torch main housing that can be manually or robot manipulated. The barrel adapter structure is formed with a socket for rotatably receiving a curved barrel mounting end structure and establishing connections with the cooling fluid, inert gas and welding wire sources for use by a welding tip at the outer end of the barrel. Electrical connection with the barrel mounting end structure is accomplished by a collet nut of insulating material carried by the main base adapter structure, and which is rotatably operable to move flexible collet finger contacts on the main base adapter structure into engagement with a surface of the barrel mounting end structure and also hold the barrel in an adjusted rotated position.

  • Patent number: 4514944
Abstract: A skylight structure in which a plastic dome has a peripheral edge flange bonded by a bonding medium to an overlapping flange of a plastic mounting skirt in a manner such that the bonding medium encompasses the outer edge of the peripheral flange and extends between the confronting surfaces of the overlapping flanges to an inner locus edge spaced from the inner edge of the skirt flange, and wherein a sealing strip coextensive with said locus edge is retained between the overlapping flanges by an inner edge portion of the skirt flange. Provision is made for securing the mounting skirt to a roof curb structure with a continuous sealing member being interposed between the curb and an under surface of the peripheral flange. In a modified form two domes have peripheral flanges, bonded together and to a single skirt flange, and with a continuous sealing strip being interposed therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4487440
Abstract: An aircraft door latching bolt actuating mechanism in which inside and outside handles are provided to actuate a crank having connections with one or more door latching bolts. The outside handle comprises a T-shaped handle with oppositely extending hand-grip portions for two hand actuation, and which are pivoted for swinging movement between a generally flush retracted position in which the hand-grip portions serve to releasably latch the crank against movement to a bolt releasing position, and an extended non-latching position permitting movement of the crank to the bolt releasing position. The hand-grip portions are interconnected with a common actuating and equalizing member that is supported for rotation with the inside and outside handles, and also for independent reciprocal movements in opposite directions.

  • Patent number: 4470411
Abstract: A protective boot which can be removably attached to the legs of horses, that may be engaged in a variety of activities such as galloping, jumping and the like, in a position extending over the shank and contiguous fetlock joint areas, and which comprise a body portion formed of an outer layer of flexible synthetic plastic sheet material and an inner cushion layer of foamed synthetic plastic material having their confronting surfaces bonded together, the inner layer also being formed to provide a plurality of ribs separated by open-sided grooves extending longitudinally of the body and lengthwise of the horse's leg. Through-going perforations in the grooves and ridges permit evaporation of sweat. Attaching bands or straps are integrally formed with the outer layer of plastic sheet material for engagement by clamping devices, and in which these bands have strengthening fabric inserts and transverse laterally spaced apart ridges to prevent slippage in the clamping device.

  • Patent number: 4462726
Abstract: A support frame having a face which may be positioned against a workpiece. A cutting arm is mounted for rotation relative to the axis of the frame in such a manner as to support a cutting tool which may be used to form a groove in a workpiece, such as a cylinder head. The cutting arm is supported in a rotating unit such that the depth of the tool and the radius of the groove may be precisely controlled. A crank is attached to the turning unit for positive rotation of the cutting tool. A plurality of locating, headed pins are mounted in the frame so that the heads are biased to positions beyond the workpiece-contact face of the frame. In the exemplary use of the tool to form a groove in a cylinder head, the pins may be precisely positioned so as to cooperate with stud bolt holes in the cylinder head in order to precisely locate the axis of the turning unit relative to the cylinder head.

  • Patent number: 4458928
Abstract: A panic exit door actuator and locking bolt mechanism of the rim type adapted for mounting in a horizontal position extending generally between the hinged edge and swingable edge of an exit door, wherein the locking bolt comprises a rotatable star wheel with a plurality of circumferentially spaced radial arms that are successively movable by rotation of the star wheel in one direction into salient bolted positions in which they are retained against reverse rotation to an unbolted position by a spring biased latch. The plane of rotation of the star wheel is traversed by the path of relative movement of a bar type strike mounted on the associated door frame, during closing movement of the door, whereupon the strike will engage one of the arms and rotate the star wheel to bring a following arm into a latched, bolted position overlying the strike.
