  • Patent number: 5242185
Abstract: A shallow nose platform trailer provides improved load carrying capability due to its reduced platform height and thus increased volume capability. The trailer includes a pair of parallel, longitudinal main I-beams and a pair of channel beam side rails defining a height of about three and one-half inches (89 mm) at the forward portion of the trailer adjacent the kingpin. The webs and lower flanges of the I-beams curve downwardly to the rear and define a height of approximately twenty-five inches (635 mm) along the central and rear portion of the trailer. An apron plate extending between the forward portions of the I-beams carries and disperses the forces imposed on the trailer and longitudinal I-beams by the kingpin and fifth wheel. The apron plate defines a V-shaped notch at its rear. A plurality of transverse beams support a deck having an upper surface flush with the longitudinal I-beams and side rails.

  • Patent number: 5239715
Abstract: A rhomboid-shaped member of resilient material for use in the innerspring of a mattress, cushion or the like, is inserted between adjacent springs rows with its major cross sectional axis extending perpendicular to the support surface. When placed as a beam between springs defining the innerspring perimeter and interior springs adjacent thereto, this arrangement results in an assembly with a border of greater firmness, without a significantly harsh transition between compression of the border area and the innerspring interior area.

  • Patent number: 5241455
Abstract: To minimize the area of an L-shaped channel wiring region between VLSI circuit blocks, a trunk 1 is formed in the direction along L-shaped sides A and B in the wiring region interposed between the L-shaped sides A and B of circuit blocks CB1 and CB2 having terminals on their sides. The trunk 1 is converted into a polygonal line so as to occupy two tracks. The polygonal line is obtained by combining a line segment in the direction along the L-shaped sides A and B with a line segment parallel to the middle angle direction D of an L-shaped angle.

  • Patent number: 5240187
Abstract: A cart-mounted or counter-top-mounted cabinet encloses a processing flask assembly located in an upwardly opening tub portion of the cabinet and which supports a drive motor below the cabinet. A blade-mounting impeller in the flask assembly is received on a motor output coupling when the flask assembly is installed in the tub. The motor, when operated, drives the blades in rotation to move and cut waste materials inserted through the open top of the flask. After a batch of waste has been processed, the flask assembly is removed from the tub and the minced and disinfected contents are dumped into suitable waste receivers with absorber material.

  • Patent number: 5238306
Abstract: A closure system for a film wall package includes profile strips having a reclosable seal of the interlocking type, flange elements and, adjacent the reclosable seal, an adhered strip of peelable material. The peelable material and the profile strip may be co-extruded. With packaging film attached to the profile strips, typically to the flange elements, the resulting product may be used in a horizontal form, fill and seal operation, at which time the reclosable elements are mated and a peel seal is formed. The peel seal may be disposed on either side of the reclosable seal with respect to the interior of the package. The benefits of both peel seals and reclosable seals may be obtained by using optimum materials for those elements while, at the same time, allowing the use of a different material for the walls of the package.
