  • Patent number: 5013183
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for drawing off ground air under the foundation slab of a house. A tube is placed in an excavation made some meters away from the house. The bottom end part of the tube is downwardly open and is provided with a plurality of rows of holes through which a blower, arranged inside the pipe, draws air from the ground. The ground air which is withdrawn departs via an evacuation duct opening out above the ground surface. A lid is arranged airtight at the upper end of the tube. The evacuation duct connects up with the tube in an area above the blower.

  • Patent number: 5013325
Abstract: A leg prosthesis with a tube (10), and adjusting head (11) arranged in the proximal end (4) of the tube. First means (16) allow adjustment of the angular attitude of the tube relative an imagined load line. Second means (12,13) allow translatory movement of the tube (10) relative the adjusting head (11). Fixing means fix the tube in a desired translated position relative the sleeve. The first and second means are both situated on the adjusting head at the proximal end of the tube, and both allow basic adjustment of the tube with the prosthesis in position of the wearer.

  • Patent number: 4994005
Abstract: A translation element, a so-called driving dog or transmitter, for translating the rotation of the center of gravity of an excentrically mounted excentric gear wheel (9) to a first shaft (14) when said wheel simultaneously executes a planetary movement about a second shaft. A rigid body (10,25) which is pivotably mounted about first pins (11, 12) has axially directed, tooth-like projections (26, 27) fitting with negligible play into two radially counter-directed apertures (22, 23) in said wheel (9) for permittinhg said projections to execute a radial reciprocally gliding motion in the apertures, simultaneously as they execute a rolling motion in said apertures, while the rigid body pivots about the first pins.

  • Patent number: 4992065
Abstract: A reversing device of a jet propulsion assembly for ships. The jet propulsion assembly includes a steering means connected to the outlet of a pump, for steering the driving water jet, the steering means including two flaps for reversing the driving water jet. An actuator pivots a first flap downwards around a first bearing across the water jet, at the same time as link arms, which are journalled between the front edges of the first flap and second flap, swing the second flap around a second bearing. The rear portion of the second flap is thereby raised towards the water jet and encounters the inner side of the first flap in such a way that both flaps shut off the passage rearwards and divert the water jet obliquely downwards/forwards.

  • Patent number: 4980697
Abstract: Adjustable parabolic aerial support, which permits stable attachment and easy positioning of parabolic aerials. It includes a frame (2), which is pivotally fastened to an axle (6). This axle (6) is a polar axis and is positionable in relation to the vertical plane. The polar axle (6) is adjustably securable to, for example, a mast through a holder (8). Furthermore, the polar axle is adjustable as to elevation. Such an adjustment is preferably made by means of a couple of stretching or rigging screws.

  • Patent number: 4969459
Abstract: An apparatus for the infrared heating and warming of post-anesthetic surgical patients is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of infrared heat lamps controlled by plural patient temperature sensors in a closed-loop control system for providing safe, controlled warming of a patient following anesthesia and surgery. Signals from the temperature sensors are averaged and compared against an average temperature setpoint to provide control signals for the heat lamp control network. Low and high temperature alarms are provided for patient safety.

  • Patent number: 4960364
Abstract: The present invention relates summarily to a mult-ejector device with at least one ejector part (2) including at least one array of ejector jets (18, 19, 20) placed one after the other in the ejector part (2). Under the action of compressed air flowing through them, the jets (18, 19, 20) generate a subpressure in chambers (11, 12) connected to the jets. The chambers (11, 12) are in communication via openings (13, 15, 17) provided with non-return valves (14, 16) with a vacuum collection chamber (9), to which the tool or the like driven by the ejector device is connected. The ejector part (2) is an element in the shape of a plate formed by moulding or in some other way, where the ejector jets (18, 19, 20) and the valve chambers (11, 12) are formed integrally in the plate-like piece.

  • Patent number: 4944903
Abstract: Method for controlling the processing and output feeding of plastic melt by extrusion, by means of an extrusion plant including a process unit (1) for processing the plastic material, a pump (3) for feeding the plastic melt to a die (4) or the like, and a screen pack assembly positioned between the process unit (1) and the pump (3). In the process unit (1) the melt is imparted a constant level of kinetics of extrusion, and the plastic melt pressure (P2) between the screen pack assembly (2) and the pump (3) is kept above a predetermined level. As a measure of the level of kinetics of extrusion, the pressure (P1) of the melt between the process unit (1) and the screen pack assembly (2), is used, preferably in combination with the melt pressure (P2) after the screen pack assembly (2).

  • Patent number: 4913538
Abstract: Folding binoculars having a pair of eyepiece frames and a pair of objective frames which are swingably supported by the rear and front edges of a pair consisting of left and right cover frames that can open and close with respect to each other. The binoculars become usable when the cover frames are swung open, thereby allowing the eyepiece and objective frames to be raised and set up by virtue of the resilience of set-up springs, and thereby aligning the optical axes of eyepieces and objectives. When the cover frames are swung to close and, accordingly, when the eyepiece or objective frames are moved toward each other to contact each other, the lens frames become guided by folding guide portions formed on the inner edges of the lens frames by virtue of contact between these guide portions, whereby the eyepiece and object frames are swung against the resilience of the springs, and they become folded and received within the frame covers.

  • Patent number: 4913541
Abstract: Folding binoculars in which left and right eyepiece frames, each carrying an eyepiece, are swingably supported in such a manner as to be able to open and close with respect to each other, and objective frames, each carrying an objective, are mounted on the eyepiece frames in such a manner as to be able to project from and retract into the eyepiece frames. When the eyepiece frames are swung open, the objective frames are projected to and fixed at the front portions of the eyepiece frames, thereby bringing the optical axis of the objectives into alignment with those of the eyepieces, and thereby rendering the binoculars usable. When the binoculars are not in use, they can be folded to form a compact structure by moving the eyepiece frames toward each other to close.

  • Patent number: 4891964
Abstract: The present invention briefly relates to a tool for the synchronous operation of fastening a seal ring to a connector pipe, crimping of the flange-like portion resulting from the clamping, and forming of the end portion of the connector pipe. The tool comprises a calibration ring (11) into which the pipe end portion is inserted for calibration, a pull rod (1) extending centrally through the calibration ring (11) and a set of form chucks (5) around the pull rod (1). The form chucks (5) are prestressed against and in cooperation with a cone (2) provided at the pull rod end, so that when the pull rod (1) is displaced in such a way that the cone (2) moves toward the calibration ring (11), the form chucks (5) at first are being pressed radially outward by the cone (2) to engage the inner side of the connector pipe and then are pulling the connector pipe by means of the pull rod (1).
