  • Patent number: 3972792
Abstract: The present invention discloses an apparatus for the determination of chemicals in a sample flow, which includes in combination a hollow conical chamber having large and small diameter portions. An entrance conduit communicates with the large diameter portion of the chamber to introduce a sample flow into the chamber in a generally tangential direction and the sample travels in a generally spirally extending path to the small diameter portion. A first axially extending conduit is connected to the small diameter portion to provide for the exit of a heavier fraction of the sample flow from the conical chamber. A second exit conduit is connected in an axial manner to the large diameter portion of the conical chamber to exit a lighter fraction of the sample flow from the conical chamber. First and second spaced electrodes are positioned in the first exit conduit.

  • Patent number: 3953779
Abstract: A device to control the transfer of energy via resonant circuits from a D.C. source of electric energy to a load. The device confines the resonant currents to near the magnitude needed to accomplish this controlled transfer within prescribed limits, independent of variations of the source voltage or of the load. The voltage stresses imposed on the individual circuit components are contained accordingly. An electronic control system governs the electronic power switches to conform to a pattern of operation which confines the average currents in the resonant circuits to preset levels and therewith confines the series capacitor voltage amplitude to predictible and restricted magnitudes. The rms content of the resonant current is restricted to predictible and moderate deviations from a design norm for specified conditions of system operation.

  • Patent number: 3953020
Abstract: The openable end of a collapsed bag is aligned in an alignment station on the base of the bag aligner machine. The bag is removed from a bag pickup station by a pick-off arm and moved to a preliminary position. At this point the bag is transferred to a bag holder which moves upwardly relative to the base to move the openable end of the bag into a bag-edge locator. This locator includes first and second alignment members which are interconnected in generally a V configuration and the bag openable edge is moved by a first motor into the open V end between the first and second alignment members to abut the closed V end under the urging of the first motor and additional urging of resilient means. This positively locates the edge of the bag so that it may be subsequently gripped, opened and then filled at a subsequent filling station.
