Abstract: An automotive shifter interlock in which a slidable shift lever release member is mechanically locked in a shift-release-inhibit position by the combination of an electromagnet bolt and an ignition switch bolt. The ignition switch bolt mechanically locks the electromagnet bolt in a position locking the shift lever release member even though no power is supplied to the electromagnet. After the ignition switch is closed and the ignition switch bolt withdrawn, the electromagnet continues to provide an electromagnetic lock until the brake pedal is depressed.
Abstract: An apparatus for on-site engine oil reconditioning comprises an apparatus configured and arranged for changing oil by removing spent oil from, and introducing reconditioned oil into an internal combustion engine. A mechanism, in fluid communication with the oil changing apparatus, removes finite particles from the spent oil to produce particle-free oil. A mechanism, in fluid communication with the finite particle removing mechanism, refines the particle-free oil to remove water, fuel, and/or glycols to produce re-refined oil. A mechanism, in fluid communication with the refining mechanism, adjusts the composition of the re-refined oil to meet a predetermined specification to produce the reconditioned oil.

Abstract: An end mounting (2) for pivotally mounting a housing (5) of a ram (1) to a structure (3) is formed from a single solid piece of material. The end mounting (2) comprises a mounting block (9) which is secured to the structure (3), an end cap (10) which is sealably secured to the housing (5), and a connecting portion (14) which extends between the mounting block (9) and the end cap (10). The connecting portion (14) is of hour-glass shape, cross-section and extends the width of the mounting block (9) to form a plastic hinge. The connection portion (14) defines a pivot axis (18) at the waist (19) of the hour-glass shape about which the end cap (10) and the mounting block (9) are pivotal relative to each other.
Abstract: A semi-rigid boot and releasable binding system for use on water skis. The semi-rigid boot provides lateral support to the ankle and lower leg of the water skier but allows the required flexibility in the fore/aft directions. The boots are non-releasably attached to the top surface of a plate. The bottom surface of the plate is provided with a hook and loop-type fastener surface. A mating surface of hook and loop-type fastener is attached to the upper surface of the ski. The plate is releasably secured to the water ski using the mating hook and loop-type fasteners on the bottom of the plate and the top of the water ski.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a buffer mechanism of a hydraulic impact apparatus of a rock drill, and the like, and the buffer mechanism reduces damage by buffering the reflected energy from a shank rod (2), and enables to apply impact by advancing a bit so as to contact the rock even when a rock drill main body (1) cannot advance to a predetermined position for lack of thrust before the next application of impact after the rock drill main body once retracted, thereby to improve the efficiency of impact application. In a rock drill including an impact mechanism for applying impact to the shank rod (2), and a chuck driver bush (13) for transmitting thrust to the shank rod (2) to be applied to an object to be crushed, a front damping piston (4) having thrust smaller than thrust of the rock drill main body (1), and a rear damping piston (5) having thrust larger than the thrust of the rock drill main body (1) are provided at the rear of the chuck driver bush (13).
Abstract: A device for assembling and locking two tubes has a radially symmetrical central member having a cylindrical screwthread on a front part and a cylindrical peg at the rear. The latter is inserted in a first tube. The front part is covered by two half-shells with a cylindrical outside wall, bearing on each other along a rectilinear ramp surface. One of the half-shells is unable to move in translation. The other is entrained in translation by the screwthread when the tube is rotated, which tends to move the two half-shells away from the central member, although they remain parallel to each other, until they come into contact with the inside wall of the second tube. The contact surface is cylindrical. The invention is useful, for example, in manufacture of telescopic rods.
Abstract: A serving tray having multiple levels includes a lower tray, a tapered collar, a cylindrical extension and an upper tray. The lower tray has a receiving cup having a ribbed exterior surface for alignment to one end of the tapered collar in a non-rotatable manner. The cylindrical extension is sized to fit through the other end of the collar and into the receiving cup such that rotatable movement of the extension is permitted. The upper tray has a centrally located cup with a vertical wall that extends below the planar surface of the upper tray and fits within the upper end of the extension so that the upper tray rotates with the extension.
Abstract: A hose mounting arrangement for an adhesive-dispensing robot of the type having a mobile robot arm which applies high viscosity adhesive to a workpiece on an assembly line via a dispenser nozzle on the end of the robot arm. A rigid hose-supporting boom is mounted in cantilever fashion on a rear portion of the robot, such that the forward end of the boom extends to a point proximate and above the robot arm wrist. The boom either carries or forms a rigid adhesive supply conduit. Adhesive from the conduit is carried to the dispenser nozzle on the end of the robot arm by a short length of semi-rigid supply hose connected at one end to the top surface of the forward end of the boom, and extending up, out and around in the form of an inverted loop or bail to the dispenser nozzle.
Abstract: An item of footwear such as a shoe comprises an outer sole which may include an intermediate mid sole, an upper having an insole with a cavity between the outer sole or mid sole. The cavity receives injected into it cushioning resilient foam material which may extend into a heal portion of or to the outer sole of a multi-layer sole and heel unit. In the method of manufacture and after the assembly of the shoe with the empty cavity, the resilient material is subsequently injected into the cavity e.g. through a small bore in the outer sole or elsewhere. Vent hole enable air to escape from the cavity to ensure full and intimate filling of the cavity with the foam material. The upper may be retained on a last during injection to maintain a desired profile of the insole. Quantity and/or pressure of the injected material may be varied for obtaining different degrees of cushioning.
Abstract: An apparatus for longitudinally centering the front and rear pairs of vehicle wheels includes a frame having pairs of laterally movable tables, each for receiving one of the vehicle wheels. Pusher members are engageable with each vehicle wheel. A centering mechanism is connected to the pusher members and normally biases the pusher members laterally outward such that laterally inward movement of one of the pusher members due to engagement with an off center vehicle will be resisted by the centering apparatus which will in turn urge the pusher members laterally outward moving the vehicle wheels and the tables laterally outward to a longitudinally centered position. Preferably separate pairs of tables, pusher members and a centering mechanism are provided for each of the front and rear pairs of vehicle wheels.
