  • Patent number: 6161255
Abstract: An indexing hinge particularly useful for glass shower doors. A mounting member is mountable to the supporting structure around the opening to the shower. For example, this could be at the top and bottom of the opening to the shower. Another mounting member could clamp along the edge of the door. A pivot pin extends between the two mounting members and has one end rotatably journaled in one of the mounting members. A fixing mechanism in the other of the mounting members fixes the pivot pin relative to its respective member. An indexing member includes a detent along the pivot pin and a biased member that is urged against the pivot pin so that when the detent aligns with the biased member, in indexing position and indexing of the door is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6159351
Abstract: The invention relates to improvements and the formation of magnetrons for use in sputter depositing material from a targeted material mounted therein. The improvement allows contamination of the target to be reduced in comparison to those of conventional magnetrons, arcing of the magnetron to be reduced, and the deficiency and quality of the coating process and target utilization to be enhanced by providing an array of magnets around the periphery of the target in addition to a first array of magnets to the rear of the target, thus causing the effect of the magnetic field on the target to be substantially uniform.

Abstract: A workpiece holding device for a T-slotted machine table includes a locator block having a planar bottom surface, a mounting hole that intersects the bottom surface to define a center point, at least one workpiece locating surface disposed a predetermined distance from the center point, and a key protruding from the bottom surface at a second point offset a predetermined distance from the center point. The protruding portion of the key has a width substantially the same as the T-slot opening so as to slidably mount in the T-slot. A fastener extends through the mounting hole and secures the locator block to a T-nut slidably mounted in the T-slot. A clamp secured to the locator block clamps the workpiece to the locating surface of the locator block. A method of using the device is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6154898
Abstract: A wastewater drain control for fluid compartments has a waste water discharge port in the bottom thereof and in communication with a vertical drain pipe. A valve seat element is in the pipe below the port and has an inclined annular valve seat surface and a center opening. A spherical valve element has a diameter greater than the center opening in the valve seat surface and is adapted to close the center opening to fluid flow when dwelling on the valve seat element above the center opening. A valve stem is rigidly secured by an upper end to the spherical valve element. The lower end extends downwardly through the center opening and terminates in a lower end. This lower end is connected to a linkage assembly which extends through a seal element in the vertical pipe and extends to a remote location accessible in the environment of the fluid compartment.

  • Patent number: 6156964
Abstract: A music score display device that eliminates the need for hard copy sheet music and manually turning pages or advancing the music score. The music score display device includes a storage device for storing music score data, a display device for displaying the music score, an input device for inputting music playing data from the musician, a microprocessor, and a computer program. The computer program compares the music score data with the music playing data to determine the playing position of the musician. The computer program then controls the display device so that it displays the portion of the music score corresponding to the playing position of the musician.

  • Patent number: 6155977
Abstract: The present invention provides a catheter which has an integral inflatable and deflatable balloon. The catheter includes an elongated, flexible tube and at least two spaced-apart openings therein. The operative element of the catheter is in communication with the first opening of the tube. The second opening in the catheter is in communication with the balloon. Preferably, the balloon is made of latex and extends around the diameter of the tube. Interfaces for both an inflation device for the balloon and a control device for the operative element are connected to the trailing end of the tube. The inflation device selectively inflates and deflates the balloon. The control device controls the operative element of the catheter. The catheter is placed by inserting the catheter with the balloon in a deflated position into the specified body channel. The body channel must have a restriction smaller than the size of the inflated balloon.

  • Patent number: 6155048
Abstract: An actuator for a turbocharger includes a hollow body member having a open top. A flexible elastic diaphragm extends across and is sealingly secured to the open top of the hollow body member which sealingly secures it thereagainst. A cap covers the open top and has a recessed surface formed therein directed toward the open top. The cap is sealingly secured against the body member so as to define a pressurizable cavity in the hollow between the cap and the diaphragm, and the cap having a rigid stem protruding therefrom with a fluid passage extending through the stem and into fluid communication with the cavity. An actuator rod is axially movable by the diaphragm in response to a predetermined pressure in the cavity.

  • Patent number: 6155205
Abstract: A bird feeder has a vertical feed container with a top, an open bottom, and a continuous sidewall. A feed tray is positioned below the open bottom in spaced relation thereto and extends outwardly from the sidewall. The feed tray has an open top and an open perimeter edge. A perch is mounted on the tray and is located below the upper perimeter edge. A transparent hood element is mounted on and extends around the feed container. It has a lower edge which is positioned below the upper perimeter edge of the tray and above the perch. This permits the perch to dwell below the hood in the clear visibility of the birds which will attract the birds to fly within the hood, locate themselves on the perch, and feed themselves from the tray. The perch has a diameter less than the lower diameter of the hood to provide a space between the outer perimeter of the perch and the outer perimeter of the lower edge of the hood for the birds to move through to land on the perch.

  • Patent number: 6155962
Abstract: The beverage basket carrier of the invention is constructed of two separate blanks, a primary blank including the printed surfaces of the carrier and a secondary blank including the internal divider walls forming the bottle receiving cells. The blanks are designed so as to be tipped together in a straight line gluer for substantially increased production rates. The secondary blank may be formed of a different and more economical substrate than that required for the primary blank. The reduced size primary blanks enable an increased number to be arranged across a sheet or printing cylinder to increase the yield of the printing process. The resulting assembled carrier is similar to conventional carriers and suited for use by bottle fillers without altering their equipment.
