Abstract: Disclosed are various systems and features for use with a machine, such as a sewing machine, to facilitate augmented-reality features such as projecting assistive visual elements or virtual UI elements into an operational area. Such systems and features may be useful in the context of performing an action along a self-guided path on a substrate.
Abstract: A network with a set of servers can support authentication from a module, where the module includes an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC). The network can send a first network module identity, a first key K, and an encrypted second key K for an eUICC profile to an eUICC subscription manager. The second key K can be encrypted with a symmetric key. The module can receive and activate the eUICC profile, and the network can authenticate the module using the first network module identity and the first key K. The network can (i) authenticate the user of the module using a second factor, and then (ii) send the symmetric key to the module. The module can decrypt the encrypted second key K using the symmetric key. The network can authenticate the module using the second key K. The module can comprise a mobile phone.
Abstract: A method of obtaining 3D cell structures including differentiated human hepatic cells. The method includes: a first step of culturing stem cell-derived or immortalized human hepatic progenitors in a non-adherent culture vessel, preferably a low or ultra-low attachment culture vessel; a second step of transferring the stem cell-derived or immortalized human hepatic progenitors to a culture medium including methacrylated gelatin (GelMa), thereby embedding the stem cell-derived or immortalized human hepatic progenitors in a GelMa matrix; and a third step of covering the GelMa matrix with culture medium and culturing the stem cell-derived or immortalized human hepatic progenitors embedded in the GelMa matrix, thereby obtaining 3D cell structures including differentiated human hepatic cells. Also, methods for engineering an artificial liver model or an artificial liver organ, and for assessing in vitro the metabolism, toxicity and/or therapeutic effects of a compound.

Abstract: Hydrogen generation assemblies and methods are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a feed stream in a fuel processing assembly, and heating, via one or more burners, a hydrogen generating region of the fuel processing assembly to at least a minimum hydrogen-producing temperature. The method additionally includes generating an output stream in the heated hydrogen generating region of the fuel processing assembly from the received feed stream, and generating a product hydrogen stream and a byproduct stream in a purification region of the fuel processing assembly from the output stream. The method further includes separating at least a portion of the carbon dioxide gas from the byproduct stream to generate a fuel stream having a carbon dioxide concentration less than the byproduct stream, and feeding the fuel stream to the one or more burners.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of treatment and method of therapy selection for patient suffering from cancer. The inventors provide the first demonstration of a dual role of IRE1 downstream signaling in cancer. Indeed, the inventors demonstrate that the modulation of IRE1 signaling characteristics in GBM cells controls tumor aggressiveness. Furthermore, the inventors provide evidence supporting a novel concept where IRE-downstream signals play combined/integrated roles in cancer development, where XBP1s provides pro-tumoral signals, whereas RIDD of mRNA and miR17 rather elicits anti-tumoral features. Their data, obtained using established cell lines, patient tumor samples and primary GBM lines, depict a complex scenario where IRE1 signaling orchestrates distinct aspects of GBM biology. In particular, the invention relates to a method for predicting whether a subject will be eligible to a treatment with an IRE1 RNase inhibitor.

Abstract: A technology is provided for invoking a random linear network coding (RLNC) communications protocol between a client and server in a network. In one example, a synchronize message requesting a network connection to a server can contain an indication that a client supports the RLNC communications protocol to encode and decode data packets using random linear network coding. The server can analyze the synchronize message for the indication that the client supports the RLNC communications protocol and send an acknowledge message to the client indicating that the server supports the RLNC communications protocol. Thereafter, the server can listen on a communications channel for a connection request sent by the client to communicate with the server using the RLNC communications protocol.
Abstract: The invention relates a fluorescent compound of formula I: wherein A is selected from P, P?O and N; ·R1 is a residue comprising an oxygen atom·R2 is a residue comprising an oxygen atom, or a halogen, ·R3, R4 and R5 are alkyls, possibly substituted or a salt or a solvate thereof. The compound is useful as a fluorescent probe sensitive to membrane fluidity and for diagnosing cancer.

Abstract: A molded container of solid continuous construction having a floor and contiguous upstanding sidewalls angling outward and upward to a surrounding upper lip. Below the upper lip the floor and sidewalls surround an inner cavity adapted to receive food. The sidewalls include at least three outwardly-directed lugs that are thicker from an inner surface to an outer surface thereof than a nominal wall thickness of the remainder of the sidewalls. The sidewall at the location of each lug having an inner surface which is contiguous and uninterrupted relative to the inner surface of adjacent portions of the sidewall. Consequently, a first container may be stacked and nested within a second container such that the lugs on the first container contact the inner surface of the second container at the location of the lugs on the second container and maintain a predetermined axial spacing between the first and second containers.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a protection device and/or system that may include a thimble capable of being placed over a transmission line, such as an electrical power cord, to provide protection in the form of cut resistance, abrasion resistance, and/or impact resistance. In some embodiments, a plurality of thimbles can be placed over the transmission line to form an overlapping arrangement to protect a desired length of the transmission line. While each thimble may be rigid, semi-rigid, and/or flexible, the arrangement can maintain flexibility to allow for many degrees of movement of the electrical power cord even as it is cladded in the protection system.
