A wiping sheet is fed from below to the pressing roller through a space between the pressing roller and the cleaning liquid ejection member, and a cleaning liquid is applied to a surface of the wiping sheet.
Abstract: A method of data storage in an optical storage media under multiple specifications. When a data is provided to store in a data area of the optical storage media under Mount Rainier (M3) specification, a first index of the data area under M3 specification is stored into a first data index area, i.e. an area of M3 file allocation table, of the optical storage media. Further, a conversion of the logical address of the data area from M3 specification to Method Two (M2) specification is proceeded, and a second index of the data area under M2 specification can be obtained and stored into a second data index area, i.e. an area of M2 file allocation table, which is in a general application area (GAA) under M3 specification, of the optical storage media.
Abstract: Circuitry for monitoring the operation of an optoelectronic transceiver includes a sequence of interconnected signal processing circuits for processing an analog input signal and producing a digital result signal, where the analog signal represents one or more operating conditions of the optoelectronic transceiver. The sequence of signal processing circuits include gain circuitry for amplifying or attenuating the analog input signal by a gain value to produce a scaled analog signal, an analog to digital converter for converting the scaled analog signal into a first digital signal, and digital adjustment circuitry for digitally adjusting the first digital signal to produce the digital result signal. The digital adjustment circuitry includes shifting circuitry configured to shift an input digital signal in accordance with a shift value so as to produce a digital shifted signal. The digital result signal is stored in memory in predefined locations accessible by a host.

Abstract: An electro-chemical fuel cell stack having a plurality of fuel cells arranged in a stacked configuration to form a fuel cell assembly. The fuel cell assembly has opposite first and second ends with a length therebetween. First and second end plates are disposed on the respective first and second ends of the fuel cell assembly. The stack has at least one side plate with opposite first and second ends that are attached to the respective first and second end plates. The side plate holds the first and second end plates in a spaced relation so that the first and second end plates impart a compressive force on the fuel cell assembly. The side plate also encloses the fuel cell assembly between the first and second end plates and provides a protective enclosure for the fuel cell assembly.
Abstract: A connection unit comprising a feeder port for connecting the connection unit to an antenna feeder, a first relay port for connecting the connection unit to a receiving and transmitting port of a first base station, and a second relay port for connecting the connection unit to a diversity receiver port of a second base, wherein the connection unit comprises a directional coupler for separating signals where a signal in the feeder port is divided into a first output signal in the first relay port of the first base station and a second output signal in the diversity receiver port of a second base station. A signal in the first relay port is, however, passed undivided to the feeder port. Diversity may be selectively provided in the receiving direction, but substantially no additional loss is introduced to the main transmission direction.
Abstract: A method and system for automatically transitioning configuration settings among computer systems. Multiple configuration settings comprising a computer “personality” are located on a source computing system using multiple transition rules from a personality object. The computer personality includes customization choices, data files, electronic mail, system preferences, application customization choices, the network environment, browser information, etc. The configuration settings are extracted from multiple locations on the source computing system. The multiple extracted configuration settings are stored in a pre-determined transition format. The multiple extracted configuration settings are manipulated. A transition package is created from the multiple manipulated configuration settings. The transition package includes the multiple manipulated configuration settings. The transition package is sent to a target computing system.

Abstract: A method for setting spreading code delays in RAKE receiver branches include, for instance: determining solutions for the code delays that include a code delay candidate for the branch to be processed and for in the order of delay preceding branches. The solutions maximize the sum of the signal strengths in the branch to be processed and in the preceding branches. The method also includes that the delays of the branches are selected in accordance with the last determined solution.
Abstract: Methods for treating or preventing a disease or disorder, for example, cardiovascular disease, dyslipidemia; dyslipoproteinemia; hyperlipidemia; a disorder of glucose metabolism; Syndrome X; a peroxisome proliferator activated receptor-associated disorder; obesity; hypertension; and renal disease with a serum-free and mitogen-free mixture comprised of specific ratios of cytokines IL-1?, TNF-?, IFN-? and GM-CSF to Interleukin 2 (IL-2) such as Leukocyte Interleukin Injection (LI) or Multikine®.
Abstract: An optical reproducing apparatus and an optical reproducing method for safely viewing a reproduced image by preventing the reproduction beam from the light source from directly entering the eyes of a viewer depending on the visual position of the viewer when holographically recorded information in an optical recording medium, particularly reproducing a transmission type hologram is reproduced.
Abstract: A fastening member which can fix with sufficient strength siding boards whose lateral joint portions are disposed in a portion where no vertical member is provided and prevent displacement in the vertical direction, is capable of ensuring a ventilation space without using furring strips and has excellent durability, and an external wall construction structure using the same are provided. A fastening member 1 has a long fixing plate portion 11 which is fixed to at least one vertical member 21.
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for high speed data transfer. Methods include receiving a plurality of external clock signals including a first external clock signal and a second external clock signal. Each external clock signal has a first frequency, a first edge and a second edge. A clock period of each external clock signal is the amount of time between any two successive first edges. Data is received on one or more signal links at a second frequency that is faster than the first frequency. The data includes a first data pulse and a second data pulse. The data is captured at the second frequency in response to the first edges and not the second edges of the external clock signals. The first data pulse is captured based on the first edge of the first external clock signal and the second data pulse is captured based on the first edge of the second external clock signal.

Abstract: A database query optimizer for a computer system having dynamically configurable logical partitions generates an optimized query strategy which is dependent on a logical partition configuration. When the query is executed, the configuration of the logical partition in which the query is executed is compared to the logical partition configuration for which the query was optimized. If the configurations are different, a new query can be automatically generated. Optimizing database queries to the current system configuration of a dynamic, logically partitioned system potentially offers greater efficiency in the execution of database queries for complex, logically partitioned systems.

Abstract: A register renaming system for out-of-order execution of a set of reduced instruction set computer instructions having addressable source and destination register fields, adapted for use in a computer having an instruction execution unit with a register file accessed by read address ports and for storing instruction operands. A data dependance check circuit is included for determining data dependencies between the instructions. A tag assignment circuit generates one or more tags to specify the location of operands, based on the data dependencies determined by the data dependance check circuit. A set of register file port multiplexers select the tags generated by the tag assignment circuit and pass the tags onto the read address ports of the register file for storing execution results.
