  • Patent number: 4603562
Abstract: A cylindrical or conical bobbin (1) resiliently compressible both in axial and in radial direction and supporting textile strands to be subjected to a heat and/or wet treatment has an outer grating (3), the outer side of which forms the curved surface of the bobbin (1), the curved surface serving as a supporting surface for the strands. The bobbin (1) includes means (2, 2', 2", 3, 4, 5) which retain the grating (3) when the bobbin (1) is not compressed more than a predetermined length in the axial direction in such a manner that the outer surface is positioned in a radial outer position, and which release the grating (3) when the bobbin (1) is axially compressed more than a predetermined length in such a manner that the outer surface is inwardly displaceable into a radial inner position, and which prevent an additional inward displacement of the outer surface.

  • Patent number: 4594867
Abstract: A sheet bending machine wherein a sheet of metal is fixed between a clamping beam and a lower beam mounted with interchangeable folding rails and wherein the bending is performed by a bending beam being swung against the projecting part of the sheet metal. The interchangeable folding rails have markings, for example, protrusions or recesses on the rear edge which cooperate with a set of members for establishment of a steering code which determines the maximum permissible bending angle for the folding rail. The code may be in the nature of a series of contacts which are opened or closed, dependent on the folding rail being used, having a recess opposite them or not. The state of the contacts may, for example, be sensed by a cam disc which curves synchronically with the swing movement of the bending beam and successively opens the contacts which are connected in parallel above them, so that a current circuit is switched when both corresponding pair of contacts are opened.

  • Patent number: 4593886
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a means for charging liquid slag to a closed smelting furnace. The means for charging liquid slag comprises a double walled tube extending through an opening in the furnace roof, said tube being connected to means for raising and lowering the tube relatively to the furnace roof. Means for gas tight sealing are provided between the furnace roof and the double walled tube. A funnel shaped part is secured to the upper end of the tube, said funnel shaped part being equipped with a closeable lid for gas tight closing of the funnel shaped part. For charging of liquid slag to the furnace the tube is lowered down into the furnace to such an extent that the lower end of the tube is under the slag level in the furnace, whereafter the lid is opened and liquid slag is charged into the furnace. When charging of liquid slag is finished, the lid is closed and the tube is raised to such an extent that the lower end of the tube is above the slag level in the furnace.
