Abstract: A rotating grinding or polishing device includes a number of grinding or polishing discs formed of two or more layers of segments radiating from a central retaining area having an edge which defines a central hole. In the central area, the segments are kept together by a heat-activatable string which also maintains the grinding or polishing disc in the form of a ring, whereby the disc has the required optimum stiffness/flexibility for obtaining an effective grinding or polishing finish so that even complex surfaces can be effectively ground or polished.
Abstract: A stoking plant for fuel in whole bales, where the bales are conveyed on a transport tract (8) from a store and stoked in the whole condition into one of a number of combustion furnaces (2) with boilers (1), comprises a slide-gate (10) through which a bale transport carriage (5) can be filled with a bale of fuel. The transport carriage (5) then conveys the bale forward to the furnace (2) which is in need of fuel. When the bale transport carriage is positioned opposite the stoking door (4) of the furnace, a cover door (6) is released which is pressed against the carriage (5) by springs (13), a switch element is activated and the stoking door (4) is opened, and the bale is pushed into the furnace (2) by a piston (7). The piston (7) is withdrawn, but in such a manner that the furnace door (4) is closed before the cover door (6) is withdrawn to the start position. The bale transport carriage (5) is a tubular carriage which travels on running rails (9).
Abstract: A rear projection screen consists of a Fresnel lens and a picture-forming screen placed in front of it. The picture-forming screen has vertical backward convex lenses on its back and vertical masking strips on its front and strip-shaped sections situated between the masking strips and opposite the backward convex lenses. Each of these is designed to refract light rays coming from behind so that they are directed towards the strip-shaped sections. In order to increase the picture resolution or definition capability of the screen and to avoid notch sensitivity between the backward convex lenses an intermediate lens is provided between every two of the backward convex lenses.

Abstract: In an exemplary embodiment a cassette provided with the magnetic tape is inserted in a longitudinal direction into an insertion channel. During and/or after the insertion of the cassette, a magnetic head carrier provided with a magnetic head is pivoted from an idle position into an operating position in which the magnetic head contacts the magnetic tape. The pivotal movement is effected by a lever linked to the magnetic head carrier. The lever is actuated by a connecting rod which is linked to a cover for closing the insertion channel. The movement of the lever by the connecting rod ensues via a rotatably mounted swivel arm. When the cover for the insertion channel is opened, the magnetic head is pivoted back into its idle position and the cassette is simultaneously partially ejected from the magnetic tape recorder by the swivel arm.
Abstract: A vending machine dispensing cups containing freshly made beverages comprises inter alia a cup dispenser delivering the cups one by one to a filling device. The cup dispenser includes a magazine for several succeeding rows of stacks of cups situated on a bottom. This bottom is shaped with a delivery opening allowing the front stack of cups to fall downwards by gravity upon an advancing in the magazine so as to position on a delivery mechanism present below the delivery opening. At activation this delivery mechanism is adapted to remove the lowermost cup in the stack and to deliver the cup to the filling device. The cup dispenser comprises furthermore a sensor detecting that the uppermost cup in the stack present in the delivery opening is positioned below the bottom of the magazine, the sensor furthermore activating a driving means to advance the row of stacks in the magazine. Furthermore the sensor allows the following stack to fall through the delivery opening.
Abstract: A separator has a rotor (1) with radial vanes (12) between plates (8,11). Material to be sorted is supplied, entrained in a conveying gas, through an inlet duct (6) to some rotor vane interspaces through inlet openings (13). The flow is then radially outwards, around the vane ends, radially into the other vane interspaces and into an outlet duct (9) through outlet openings (14), carrying the fine fraction. The coarse fraction is flung outwards by the vanes and collected in a hopper (4).
Abstract: A manually operable measurement apparatus for measuring level, temperature and transition zone between two different liquids. The measurement is carried out by letting a probe through a sluice and valve means into a tank. The probe is combined in one unit and is sensitive to both relative dielectric constant and loss factor as well as the temperature of the surrounding medium(s) to be measured. The invention is particularly suitable for measurement in tanks having an internal pressure being different from the atmospheric pressure and in explosive environments.
Abstract: The safety device for tape cassettes for the positionally correct insertion of the tape cassettes into an acceptance device comprises a tongue-shaped spring element disposed at the floor of the acceptance device, a ramp edge being disposed at the free end of said spring element, with said ramp edge cooperating with the front edge of said tape cassette and being displaceable by said front edge out of the insertion region upon insertion of said tape cassette. A stop piece engaging behind the ramp edge in the direction toward the fastening end of the spring element is connected to the ramp edge, the stop piece interacting with a recess of the tape cassette such that, given positionally correct insertion of the tape cassette into the acceptance device, the stop piece first slides into the recess and, upon continued insertion of the cassette, the front edge thereof displaces the stop piece out of the insertion region via the ramp edge.
Abstract: The invention relates to an electromagnetic flow meter with a magnetic system having two magnetic poles which are attachable to a measuring tube from the outside, an outer yoke, and at least one separating gap. Abstract: For controlling the selective lateral tilting of the conveying trays of a sorter conveyor there is provided, on each tray support, a crosswise oriented cylinder, which by a protruding radial arm, is turnable between a "normal" position and a "tilt" postion in response to the radial arm engaging with an actuated guiding track associated with the stationary conveyor chassis. The tray has a lever engaging with an oblique cam track in the surface of the cylinder, whereby the tray is tilted by the turning of the cylinder. The cam track has non-oblique end portions, which lock the tray in both its horizontal and fully tilted position, without a separate lock being required. The cylinder may be split in two individually turnable halves selectively operable to tilt the tray to either side.
Abstract: A method of rolling a plastically deformable material which behaves as a single phase and which is deformed plastically when subject to deformation forces, which material comprises from 40% to 70% by weight of hydraulic cement and/or fly-ash particles A of from 0.5 to 100 .mu.m, silica particles B of from 50 .ANG. to 0.5 .mu.m (which are at least one order of magnitude smaller than the cement/fly-ash particles A), a surface-active dispersing system present in an amount sufficient to impart to the composite material a plastic consistency in a stress field of up to 200 kg/cm sq., and from 7% to 20% by weight water; the silica particles B being homogeneously arranged in the voids between the densely packed cement/fly-ash particles A, and the amount of water substantially corresponding to the amount necessary to fill the voids between the solid particles of the composite material.
