Abstract: A valve device serving to prevent overfilling of portable containers, particularly liquid gas cylinders, includes a ball which is freely rotatable relative to a spherical seating face in a casing having a filling channel extending to said seating face. The ball has a through passage which in the prescribed filling position communicates with the channel, and the ball is connected to a load member tending to keep the ball, and thus its passage, in a given orientation so that the communication is broken when the container is tilted away from the prescribed filling position. The device further includes a valve member controlled by a float and operative to interrupt the filling operation after a predetermined filling level has been reached in the container.
Abstract: A valve device serving to prevent overfilling of portable containers, particularly liquid gas cylinders, includes a ball which is freely rotatable relative to a spherical seating face in a casing having a filling channel extending to said seating face. The ball has a passage which in the prescribed filling position communicates with the channel, and the ball is through a rod and a flexible link connected to a load member. As long as this load member is above the liquid level, it tends to keep the ball, and thus its passage in a given orientation so that the communication is broken if the container is tilted away from the prescribed filling position. When the liquid level has reached a predetermined height, the load member acts as a float so as to interrupt the filling operation by causing the ball to change its orientation.

Abstract: A method provides for the continuous treatment of a porous, fibrous material such as paper pulp, with a gas, such as ozone. The material is entrained with gas and passed in a first path. The material and gas move in a path defined by a downwardly curved upper wall and an open bottom, with a baffle disposed adjacent the bottom termination of the downwardly curved wall, so that the material is separated from the gas, the material flowing in a second path and the gas in a third path, distinct from the second path. The material in the second path is moved so that it intersects the flow of gas in the third path at least once, with the gas passing through the material while remaining in the third path, until the desired treatment of the material has been achieved. Preferably the second path is a serpentine path including horizontal portions, and the third path is a substantially straight downward path. After treatment, the material is discharged in a fourth path, and the gas passes along a fifth path.
Abstract: In a pump comprising a slotted tube motor, the ventilating procedure is carried out by the water entering a rotor chamber and being caused to circulate by means of the rotating rotor in such a manner that a circulating ring of liquid is formed within the rotor chamber, and that the air present in the chamber is pressed towards the axis of rotation of the rotor. The liquid flows from a pump room into the rotor chamber through a bearing slot in a front sliding bearing situated at the impeller of the pump. Liquid from the ring of liquid adjacent the rear sliding bearing is carried into a bearing slot in the rear sliding bearing by way of a connecting duct formed in part in the bearing sleeve. This sliding bearing opposes an air duct closed by a vent plug. The rotor chamber and the air duct are interconnected solely through the bearing slot in the rear sliding bearing.
