Patent number: 4446597Abstract: In a hinge device for inclined tiltable windows with external overlapping cover rails, the base plate of the main frame supports through a pair of pivotable links an intermediate member which is movable in a parallelogramlike--or pantographlike--manner and itself carries a pivot pin on which the sash base plate of the hinge device is journalled. The rotation of said base plate about the pivot pin is co-ordinated with the movement of the intermediate member by way of a coupling link that through pivot pins is connected with the sash base plate and the pivotable link adjacent the coupling link, respectively. The coupling link makes it possible in a simple and cheap manner to reliably controlling the hing parts during the full tilting of the sash in both directions.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1982Date of Patent: May 8, 1984Assignee: V. Patent number: 4447706Abstract: An oil burner system includes a burner nozzle connected to a supply of fuel oil by a nozzle assembly having integrated therein an electric heater for prewarming the oil fed to the nozzle. The nozzle assembly has first connector at one end directly connected to the burner nozzle and a second connector at its other end directly connected to an oil supply conduit. The preheater comprises an elongated rectangular PTC heating resistor having a pair of parallel sides of greater width than the thickness of the resistor and coextensive electrical contacts extending longitudinally and transversely in electrical engagement with the parallel sides. A pair of parallel flattened thin wall metal conduit sections extend coextensively between the first and second connectors and define thin unimpeded generally rectangular cross section flow path for the oil to be heated.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1982Date of Patent: May 8, 1984Assignee: Danfoss A/SInventors: Werner Eder, Gisbert Fischer

Patent number: 4447189Abstract: A centrifugal pump for moving gaseous liquids comprises a gas separator situated in the suction chamber of the pump. The outlet of the gas separator is aligned with the inlet of the impeller, the degased liquid passing through said outlet. The separated gas is drained off to the ambiency through a tapped hole in the pump casing, to which a ventilator is connected. The gas separator is mounted in its fitting position after it has been carried from the pressure chamber of the pump and through an opening in a partition between the suction chamber and the pressure chamber and further on into the suction chamber. The gas separator is retained in its fitting position by means of securing means in the positions in which the water and gas outlets of the gas separator are situated. As a result, the pump casing may be manufactured from a simple and relatively small moulding piece. The pump casing need not comprise several parts.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1982Date of Patent: May 8, 1984Assignee: Grundfos A/SInventors: Niels D. Jensen, Kurt F. Nielsen

Patent number: 4444112Abstract: Improvements in a multi-capability projectile having a heavy primary penetration element surrounded by a splintering and fragmenting secondary penetration element which extends forwardly of the primary penetration element to form a cavity having a bursting charge therein, the projectile having a nose portion forwardly of that cavity with an ignition charge therein. The rear of the secondary penetration element is stepped inwardly to form a smaller recess which receives and holds the rear end of the primary penetration element. A shoulder adjacent this smaller rearward portion can be formed in accordance with an improved method with an annular groove, according to which the portion of that shoulder radially inwardly of the groove is urged against the side of the primary penetration element to form a rimmed part which secures the same. The annular space surrounding the forward end of the primary penetration element can be filled with an incendiary charge, the bursting charge being located forwardly thereof.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1981Date of Patent: April 24, 1984Assignee: A/S Raufoss AmmunisjonsfabrikkerInventors: Kaare R. Patent number: 4443131Abstract: A method for constructing an offshore platform structure having a plurality of supporting legs inclined inwardly towards each other is disclosed. The entire structure may be constructed in a dry dock, or optionally the lower raft may be constructed in the dry dock and then towed out to a deep water site where the structure is completed. The platform foundation includes a plurality of foundation footings and the lower end of the inclined supporting legs are built in the dry dock. The legs are cast in vertical position using conventional slip forms. Subsequent to the termination of the casting of the inclined legs the supporting legs are tilted towards each other and permanently interconnected at their upper ends. Patent number: 4442394Abstract: The invention relates to an inverter circuit for operating a speed-controllable asynchronous motor. The inverter circuit is of the type wherein the voltage and frequency are substantially proportional until the nominal frequency has been reached at nominal voltage. The circuit includes and inverter, a desired value control, a D.C. voltage supply with a voltage regulator which sets the voltage depending on the desired value, and a voltage-operated frequency regulator. The circuit can be operated at frequencies above the nominal frequency to avoid damage to the inverter which would otherwise be caused by (1) high voltage due to the motor operating as a generator or by (2) the rapid reduction of the speed setting controls which is not accompanied by a corresponding drop in the voltage supplied to the inverter.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 1981Date of Patent: April 10, 1984Assignee: Danfoss A/SInventors: Hans M. Patent number: 4442434Abstract: An aerial circuit comprises a first antenna in connection with an impedance, which is a "negative impedance", whereby a broad frequency range is achieved. The "negative impedance" is based on a second antenna similar to the first antenna, whereby the resulting aerial impedance is zero for all frequencies. A corresponding ferrite or loop aerial system is advantageously usable as a stationary system instead of an antenna of the long wire type, and the signal to noise ratio is better than with conventional ferrite antennas.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 1981Date of Patent: April 10, 1984Assignee: Bang & Olufsen A/SInventor: Knud E.
